I identified Dr Stephens as someone who might be more suited to my age and sporting interests than my previous cardiologist. The difference in approach was like chalk and cheese. Dr Stephens explained the hunch he had, was willing to share surprise that a key test had been overlooked, it was arranged quickly and delivered professionally by what seemed a very experienced and knowledgeable team at Northwick Park (Mary and colleague). The results accorded with the hunch and were extremely good news. This was against a backdrop of having been advised to do three months detraining, not easy for me but doable if necessary, but without any real assurance that it would lead to a diagnosis. Twenty seven days of booked holidays cancelled with deposits refunded, the prospect of beta blockers for a protracted period, not able to give blood, not possible to continue with my previous travel insurer and always with the doubt in my mind that there may be an undiagnosed significant heart issue. I was amazed by the clarity with which the advice was given, the quality of the advice, the personableness of Dr Stephens and the speed/clarity of the communications. after the two appointments. I got lucky in being given enough info by a friend to take the decision to get myself seen by Dr Stephens. The experience has truly been life changing and I can't think of any other way of describing it. To say I am extremely grateful is a total understatement. I was also impressed by Libby and others in the administration team at Maidstone who seemed to handle everything efficiently and slickly. Overall, entirely faultless and massively impressive. Hiba first treated me for quite a serious ankle injury. From my very first session, I immediately felt comfortable and supported by her warm and friendly presence. This injury was extremely hard for me, as it meant I could not play my favourite sport, football, which was really tough both physically and mentally. However, each week my session with Hiba became the highlight of my week. Not only is she an excellent physio who guided me through a quick, safe, and thorough recovery, but she also took the time to explain everything clearly and made sure I always understood what we were working on. She never rushed me and always listened to how I was feeling, which made me feel truly cared for. On top of that, she has an amazing sense of humour, which really helped lift my spirits and made even the hardest rehab sessions enjoyable. After recovering from my ankle injury, I unfortunately injured my knee. Without hesitation, I knew I wanted Hiba to treat me again. Having already been through a tough recovery with her, I trusted her completely and felt reassured knowing I was in excellent hands throughout the process. During my knee rehab, she was just as supportive, knowledgeable, and encouraging, constantly motivating me to keep going even when it was challenging. Thanks to Hiba’s expertise, patience, and genuine care, I was able to regain my confidence and get back to playing football, the sport I love. I could not recommend her highly enough to anyone needing physiotherapy. She truly goes above and beyond for her patients.

I visited the hospital to see an orthopaedic surgeon after having a fall at work and damaging my knee. I have had issue with it since the accident I suffered at work.I was advised to lodge a claim with my employers insurance. This I did because of the problems I am having with my knee. I was sent to see this gentleman so he could assess the damage to my knee. I was treated as if I was only there because I was lodging a claim and to have recompense for the damage I suffered and still am. He seemed very abrupt and I felt as though I was cross examined over the form I had filled in regarding my injury. I left the room feeling like I had done something extremely bad and wrong. I have never had to go through this scenario and very much hope not to have to go through another. I am a patient who has an injury that I am advised my a consultant needs an operation yet I was treated though I was feigning injury. I do not feel valued having attend at the one hospital.

Dr Sotiris Nicholas provided my anaesthesia for a C-section at the Portland Hospital and his care was exceptional. He was incredibly warm and reassuring, explaining everything clearly so I knew exactly what to expect. The entire process was painless, calm, and far more relaxing than I could have imagined. He stayed with us throughout the C-section, and despite working closely with the obstetrician, he chatted to us the whole time, keeping us both calm and helping us truly enjoy the birth of our baby. He even went above and beyond by taking beautiful photographs of this incredibly special moment. We will always remember the role he played in our baby’s birth and could not recommend him more highly to anyone looking for the right anaesthetist to support them during a C-section.

Once on the ward, the care was exemplary; the ward doctors and nurses were attentive, professional, and genuinely kind. I must also give a special mention to the kitchen staff, as the foods were excellent—the quality and variety of the meals far exceeded my expectations for hospital dining. It was a truly holistic care experience where every department worked in perfect harmony, and I felt valued and well-cared for every step of the way.

Although the appointment wasn't satisfactory for me because the doctor couldn't give me a second opinion on my back and neck pain since his specialty is lower extremities, he sent me for updated MRI exams so he could give me a responsible and accurate second opinion on my knee and ankle. I emailed the doctor and am waiting for him to reply with his diagnosis from the previous appointment so I can provide my employer with the information they need to continue helping me with the MRI costs and get positive results that will allow me to go to work without any health risks. I was extremely nervous having had a bad cataract surgery experience previously. However the staff went out of the way to make me feel comfortable, with a particular shout out to Bruce who was calm, funny, knowledgeable and held my hand throughout the procedure. Mr Ainsworth was warm and kind, it was good to meet him before the surgery. The whole procedure was explained and was over so quickly. It was a very personalised experience and my recovery has been quick and straightforward. I cannot recommend Newmedica highly enough, particularly for nervous patients.

Initially I was very unsure about my condition, however, Mr. Turner provided reassurance that the condition of my hand could be fixed. Tests were carried out over the following month then surgery was suggested. The operation proved to be very successful and, despite being prepared for subsequent pain, I did not experience either pain nor discomfort at any point. Further to the surgery, Mr. Turner and colleagues provided after-care which was reassuring, professional and continued to ensure a speedy recovery.
