In August 2025, due to the long delays at Luton and Dunstable, they offered for me to be seen as an NHS patient at One Stop (OSD) Clinic at Hemel Hempstead, where I was seen by Dr Mittel. Following a consultation, he advised that I be referred back to L&D for a hysterectomy (he could not do overnight procedures at his clinic) and prescribed Ryeqo, a medication that suppresses ovarian function and includes HRT. However, I was not provided with a NHS prescription for Ryeqo, as Dr Mittel did not have the necessary NHS prescription pad and advised that it must come from an NHS consultant. I have since discovered that my GP is unable to prescribe Ryeqo and that this must indeed be handled by a hospital consultant. I am unable to afford this medication privately, as it costs approximately £100 per month. With no consultant to prescribe the medication on the NHS, I am therefore left without treatment and unclear as to whether I am even on the waiting list for a hysterectomy. To add to my distress, my interactions with Dr Mittel have been upsetting. During our initial consultation, when I asked about potential side effects of Ryeqo, he responded inappropriately by laughing and comparing the risks to getting on a bus or plane. He failed to explain that only a consultant could prescribe the medication on the NHS, and I had to research this information myself. He also failed to talk me through any of the potential side effects which again I have now researched myself. At a subsequent appointment for a hysteroscopy, when I attempted to raise my concerns about still not being able to get the NHS Ryeqo prescription (as advised by his secretary), he dismissed the issue, saying it was not the right time to discuss it. Instead, he began venting his frustrations about NHS inefficiencies and his personal issues with parking as a consultant. This unprofessional and inappropriate behaviour left me extremely upset and in tears just prior to undergoing the procedure. Although he later apologised, stating he was “stressed,” this is not the level of care I expect or deserve as a patient and I wonder if I was his private patient as opposed to an NHS patient his manner would have been the same.

My experience with Albion Dental has been brilliant from start to finish of my treatment. My dentist Dr Ghadimi is very kind, and is very skilled with the procedures he can perform. I have severe hypodontia and even after extensive work throughout my life I was not quite confident with my teeth, so after some discussion and planning, I decided to pursue new crowns for my top 4 teeth; a big decision for me but it has been well worth it and I have no regrets. The treatment was explained well, and my questions were answered fully and meticulously. The nature of the treatment was more cosmetic compared to previous work I've had done, and a big financial endeavour for me, but there are payment plans available to make it more affordable and accessible. The dental assistants are really lovely and look after you well, and the receptionists are always a ray of sunshine when entering the building; their client care skills are exemplary. Some advice for if you have a complex condition and have had a lot of dental work done before coming to the practice like myself, would be to make sure to let the clinic know as much information as possible, as there was some communication that needed to be had to get on level ground with the team. But this was to be expected for me with my long medical history and the clinic was very open and receptive to my concerns about my teeth, and devised a plan sensitively and effectively to help me feel more confident with my smile, something I've felt self-conscious about since I was little! So I would recommend this clinic to anyone for routine, or more involved treatment, and am grateful for everything they've done for me!

Miss Dana Touqmatchi

I had initially been told, when I went if for my operation, that Miss Touqmatchi was not working that day and that someone else would be doing it. So I was slightly anxious. Then in pre-op, the curtain opened, and there she was. She is such a lovely doctor, she has a calming presence, always willing to answer questions and explains everything in layman terms. I immediately felt reassured and knew she would do her best for me in the operating theatre. The day after the operation, she came and found me on the ward and explained what happened during the procedure. and what decisions were made and why. Although there had been some complications, I felt comfortable with the decisions she and her colleagues made. Miss Touqmatchi is a great surgeon, who truly cares about her patients. If a procedure's not right for you, she will tell you so and explain why. There are no guarantees when it comes to medical procedures, but I believe Miss Touqmatchi will always do the best she can for you.

Mr Suresh Chandrashekar

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I had foot surgery (hallux rigidus with fusion on my big toe joint) with Mr. Suresh Chandrashekar at London Sports Orthopaedics, and I couldn’t recommend him more highly. From the initial consultation through to surgery and follow-up care, he has shown a commendable duty of care. After losing my BUPA insurance due to redundancy, Mr. Chandrashekar went out of his way to make sure I could still access the check-ups I needed showing genuine care and support at a difficult time. A special mention also goes to his medical secretary, Katie, who has been the bridge in all communications. She is super-efficient, knowledgeable, diplomatic yet assertive, and ensures everything keeps moving smoothly. Six weeks on from surgery, I’m really happy with my progress and can’t wait to get back to running and teaching yoga again. If you’re looking for an orthopaedic specialist, I would highly recommend Mr. Chandrashekar and his team. 5 stars all round!!

If you are going to see Dr Ansari, you are going because you have serious concerns about your health and well being. Let me assure you this is the doctor you want to put you at ease, his level of professionalism and more Importantly his ability to relate to you and make you comfortable are second to none. He listens attentively and offers explanations to guide you through your journey. Whilst carrying out the proceedure he ensured that I was fully aware of what was going to happen and kept things light hearted. Post op - great follow up, with clear and concise explanations, welcoming questions. There is an element of familiarity when the doctor approaches you, he finds the ability to relate, which is great, a Doctor that actually talks to you rather than at you! Lastly his secretary always kept in touch regularly , super friendly and always there when you need her. GREAT!

I went to my consultation with some trepedation as I didnt know what to expect but I was quickly put at ease once the consultation began. I was impressed with the detailed checks and scans that were carried out and everything was clearly explained at each stage. I was quiete surprised to be told that I wasnt ready for treatment at this stage and that any improvement that they could make for my reading vision, could potentially, make my distance vision slighly worse than it is at the moment. i was really impressed at the honestly and professionalism of the Consultant who gave me his honest opinion and did not try and sell me a procedure that I didnt need. For me this is very comendable in this day and age, Perhaps in a number of years time my situation will have changed and I will not hesitate to return to Cathedral for further advive/ analysys.

Mr Riddick is an incredible surgeon who removed my rare kidney cancer successfully, even though it was in an awkward position. We discussed afterwards that it would not have been possible for a robot to have removed it due to its situation, so I am eternally grateful that I have been able to see Mr Riddick. (I hope that future surgeons are trained to do open surgery and not just to use a robot.) Mr Riddick is a very professional gentleman who is extremely caring and concerned about the welfare of his patients and has a lovely bedside manner. I cannot recommend Mr Riddick highly enough to other patients.

I had hip replacement surgery, my admission and pre surgery checks were done professionally and very courteously. The surgery team made me feel relaxed (I was very nervous) and they treated me with care and respect before, during and after the operation. Overnight, the medical staff checked on me regularly, were very supportive and helped with pain management and looking after my comfort Throughout my stay the service staff were very attentive and looked after me, catering for my needs. Overall, I feel I was looked after as an individual and my needs taken care of.

The spire Elland was a lovely, clean hosptial. My room had recently been renovated, which meant it felt clean and comfortable. The staff were all nice, regularly bringing me hot drinks and heat packs for my symptoms. A particular shoutout to the team conducting my anaesthetic, I was quite overwhelmed/concerned and they really supported me and put me at ease. I would definitely consider spire elland again for my treatment.
