I was diagnosed with bile duct cancer at my local hospital Broomfield, I was referred to the Royal Free Hospital under Mr David Nasralla on 11/09/2025. I saw Mr Nasralla in clinic. He explained my diagnosis in simple terms that I was able to understand along with simplified drawings. He agreed that I was a candidate for surgery and this was booked for the 29/09/2025, before I left clinic. My recovery and each step of my recovery was explained. I was contacted by the HBP team several times leading up to my operation which was such relief as all my questions were answered as they came along. I was admitted to hospital on 29/09/2025, where Mr Nasralla saw me to confirm that I still wanted to proceed with the operation. I awoke from my operation in ITU, Mr Nasralla come to see me and my partner to explain my procedure and to oversee my treatment. Mr Nasralla was understanding, very thorough and completely supportive to my care plan. During my stay in the Royal Free Hospital under Mr Nasralla he came to see me several times and his team who came on the ward rounds were also in contact with him. I cannot speak highly enough of the treatment and support I was given by Mr David Nasralla and his team. My treatment has been outstanding both while in hospital and during the last four weeks at home. Mr Nasralla has followed up on my recovery and care plan with total commitment to my recovery. There have been times when I have been worried and unsure, I have been met with total understanding and compassion, with clear empathy. I can say I completely trust Mr Nasralla and his team, who went beyond patient care. I would like to thank Mr Nasralla and his amazing team, which includes the CNS nurses and all the staff who smoothly booked my appointments. My last appointment with Mr Nasralla was on 06/11/2025, his approach to my next step to recovery was explained in full and in terms I understood. Mr Nasralla gave me the email address of his team should I need to contact them. I cannot explain how this has helped me, to know that they are still there should I need to reach out to them. There are not enough praises to reflect the outstanding care and support I have received. I am eternally grateful to Mr Nasralla & his team, without whom I would not be able to write this review.

Mr Dominic Peter-James Howard

I've had at least three clinical encounters with Mr. Howard relating to carotid web artery issues which he diagnosed following an opthalmic 'stroke on 24 April. On each of these visits (with me feeling very apprehensive) he showed both clarity and professionalism, combined with warmth, gentleness and empathy in explaining my condition and putting before me the benefits of carotid surgery and the risks should I elect not to proceed. But the choice was left to me. He supported this with data which gave me (and my son, a mathematician who was with me) the confidence to go ahead. He additionally mentioned that he had performed hundreds of carotid surgeries generally and specifically some 20 carotid web surgeries, all of which had been successful. That boosted our confidence even more. But what I would always remember was that he went beyond the call of duty on two occasions (one a Sunday) to answer questions I still had while, I believe, he was on holiday. It raised my esteem of not just him but the JR and NHS! The operation on 14 August, though an ordeal for me, went very well. Mr. Howard excelled himself. I recovered fully and was reviewed by him on 21 October, following a duplex scan and given an all clear. I am very grateful to Mr. Howard for his exceptional skills, competence and his inspiring level of care and concern for me during a particularly stressful time. I’ve had a great experience with Mr Siddiqui and his team. I was actually set on a different surgeon until I met him and felt he was the right surgeon for me. He was transparent about what results he achieves and what would get me the result that I was looking for. Whilst I’m still early days post op (9 weeks) I am absolutely thrilled with my new boobs and have so much more confidence already. During recovery I had the lovely nurse checking in with me via WhatsApp and regular post op check ups with Mr Siddiqui which I really valued as I always have a ton of questions. My recovery has been pretty text book so far. The admin team have been great and really accommodating to schedule my follow ups around my work commitments. I would absolutely recommend Mr Siddiqui.

Excellent service from initial consultation through to my procedure. Having had very complex abdominal surgery 20 years ago, I was extremely apprehensive about having any further investigations on my abdomen but Mr Ismail and his team were incredibly calming and reassuring. Mr Ismail is an absolutely outstanding surgeon, managing to complete my procedure, under extremely difficult circumstances given my level of scar tissue, with barely any discomfort . The whole procedure was explained clearly to me throughout and I would not hesitate to thoroughly recommend him to anyone requiring gastric investigations/procedures. I cannot rate my experience highly enough. Mr. Thakur and Dr. Richard the anesthetist were extremely professional and supportive and took time to clearly explain the procedure and process and answer all of my questions. The nursing staff, Steph, Brian, Natalie and Til were fantastic looking after me post op and were very friendly and supportive. The pharmacy team took great care in explaining my medication and advising on the pain relief regime to follow. Gary from the Physio team was great at explaining the rehab exercises and putting me through my paces to make sure I started my recovery in the best way. A great team, please pass on my thanks.

Absolutely amazing, I cannot fault the care and support I have received. I may not be able to climb mountains, but I can carry on with my walking, taking care of myself at the same time. I completed my smile makeover with Dr Oliver last Friday. I had 8 upper and 8 lower porcelain veneers to whiten my teeth and correct the shape and size of my teeth. I had gaps between my teeth and a gummy smile. Due to this there was very minimal preparation and the most important thing, no pain! I wished I had done this 15 years ago. Such an easy process, and the treatment completed in 5 weeks. Thank you Dr Joe I have my dream smile for Christmas, the best investment is the one you make in yourself. 😊

The Spire has excellent facilities (car parking, waiting area, consulting rooms etc) and the reception staff are very attentive and helpful. The “formal check in” using an iPad is an unnecessary hurdle for patients to negotiate. The earlier system of just checking in with the receptionist was much better. My appointment with Dr. Balerdi was on time and a very useful session. Re. Dr. Balerdi himself, my very postive comments are in an earlier section.

I was very pleased with the staff at the hospital pre and post op, they were very supportive and helpful. I have, since the operation feel I have a new lease on life, to be out of the arthritic pain is truly amazing. I cannot thank Mr Sisodia enough this operation, my scar is so neat and has healed beautifully.

I would highly rate not only my visit today with Mr Gowda but the whole hip replacement process, which for me was very daunting never having had any kind of surgery at all in my 69 years, save for wisdom teeth removal. He was professional and courteous and I felt in very safe and knowledgeable hands. I have no hesitation in recommending Mr Gowda to anyone contemplating hip replacement surgery.

Had MRI scan had to wait c30 mins later than booked time. Person after me was c50 mins after booked time. This was immediately in the morning (8:45am) as well so something went wrong. Perhaps need to stagged appointments and leave larger gaps between clients to give some slack other wise can get big delays down the line (me 30mins next person 50mins)

On the day of admission Mr Gallagher explained the procedure followed by the anesthetist and Physiotherapist who all clearly explained their roles.
