I was impressed by the building and my two radiology appointments were combined and seen to earlier than I expected. I waited in the café area, which was roomy and comfortable, until it was time to go to see the consultant. I waited until the appointed time and was seen to on time and very ably. There would have been a long wait for a blood test and CT scan, and I was assured the receptionist would contact me at home about having both the following day at Portland Place. I called the main number in the late afternoon, as I had heard nothing, and the man I spoke to, booked me into Portland Place for the following day. It was a very pleasant experience, and unlike any hospital visit I can remember, as the surroundings were spacious and unintimidating.

I attended Mr Dowen's clinic today and the service I received was absolutely fantastic. Mr Dowen organised my imaging before I even attended and then promptly saw me in person. Mr Dowen was extremely professional during the history taking and examination part of the consultation and ensured I was comfortable and not in pain throughout. I also appreciated him asking me about the impact my symptoms were having on me and what my key concerns and challenges were. He explained my diagnosis in a way I could understand and then provided a detailed explanation of how best to manage it, as well as what to look out for which may warrant a return to clinic. A fantastic service by an extremely experienced and knowledgeable surgeon. Thank you Mr Dowen.

From the outset Georgia understood my issue which meant we could maximize the appointment time for hands-on treatment. She used a variety of different techniques during the session, which made the treatment feel thorough and targeted rather than one‑dimensional. I was also given clear follow-up advice and tailored exercises to continue at home, which has really helped my recovery between appointments. Dr Chopra also addressed additional concerns beyond the initial reason for my visit, offering a broader treatment approach, which I appreciated. While I understand that diagnosing multiple issues within a half-hour appointment is challenging, the consultation was helpful and provided the reassurance and confidence boost I was looking for.

I was greeted by a friendly team of staff at Fitness First who directed me to a waiting area, as I was a little early. I then met my Physiotherapist who went through the initial consultation. She was very professional and thoughtful when doing anything during the examination and treatment. She carefully talked me through her findings so that I could understand her diagnosis and treatment requirements. My treatment was with Selene Cavallaro, not with the suggested people on the next question.

The staff were friendly and kept me updated with what was happening. The only thing that I believed could have been handled slightly different was the ordering of food. Prior to my operation I was asked to choose food for after the operation and for the next day. As you would imagine the last thing I was thinking about was food. I believe the choices could have been better timed, however this doesn’t take away from the fact I was well looked after in a clean professional environment.

Everything was first class from reception to the nurse checks to the kind person who took me to surgery, the surgeon was nice to talk to, the team in the surgery room were efficient and kind. Back on ward the nurses were so lovely. I had a wobble (previous trauma) which unexpectedly made me emotional. They were so kind, non judgmental and all in particular Anna took time to be human - show human support from one female to another. It was appreciated.
