After arriving at my appt on time 9.30am after accidentally being at the wrong location and rushing to not be late, 5mins later I hear the receptionist greeting the doctor I am supposed to be seeing. I wait a further 10mins to be called. This was unprofessional in my opinion. You could usually blame traffic, but the appointment being during a week of schools being off that cannot be an excuse imo. My experience of investigating my pain has been shocking. I felt like I was given a common speech given to insurance clients by Dr Sloan, being very vague about my scan results when I am working with my own physio and coaches who require more detail. He then referred me to Dr Stafford. Assuming I was going in for a consult I come out with a diagnosis it takes people 5-10 years to be diagnosed with (after only having symptoms for less than a year) after completing a 3 question survey. Working with my physio it is clear my pain is from disc problems. I feel like I have been given the diagnosis of a chronic condition for the sake of trying to explain my pain without actually anything useful I can do to move forward. And personally I’m glad that insurance covered this experience because I would be even more frustrated paying that amount of money outright for an experience which quite literally feels like a scam.

I recently visited Mr Arun at Shirley Oaks hospital due to occasional bleeding when I went to the loo. He reviewed my diet, general health and discussed details regarding any habits that I had regarding ‘toilet techniques’. My Arun then gave me some helpful tips on what I might need to address to rectify and bad habits that may have been causing the bleeeing. All discussions were very helpful and not at all intimidating. He almost instantly set my mind at ease. Whilst explaining that from our discussion , he was reasonably sure that he knew I had a case of aggravated haemorrhoids, he thought it would be prudent to book and carry out a colonoscopy. Again, whilst I was very nervous about this process, Mr Arun’s manner made me feel far more comfortable than I had expected and the process was not nearly as bad as I had expected! Mr Arun gave me a positive review within 30 minutes of the colonoscopy. I then saw and Arun 3 weeks later and he ran through the findings which were all positive and explained that the new behaviours that he had explained to me were working and that I should maintain them. The experience was excellent and Mr Arun was warm, friendly, informative and helpful.

I can’t recommend Sarah enough! I came to her after a lateral hip tear, and she was incredibly thorough from day one. We brought our son in to be assessed by Mr Kuo earlier in the summer- from the moment we walked in to the room his focus was on our son and making sure he felt comfortable and at ease with what could have been quite a scary experience for a 3 year old. We knew from that moment that we had chosen the right person for the job. On the day of our son's adenotonsilectomy Mr Kuo paid all the children a visit to go through the procedure with us all, answer any questions we had and to see how all the children were doing. Following the operation he came back to see us to explain how it went and ensure us that our son was doing well which we really appreciated. Overall we received outstanding and very personable treatment from Mr Kuo and couldn't recommend him more, especially to those who have children!

Excellent - I had been told by another Dentist that a pre molar tooth would require a crown when a .5cm filling they put in fell out so I consulted Dentalessence, and thanks to Joanna at front of house my email was seen by Zayd who amongst other things specialises in onlays and he used this procedure to restore my tooth. The staff at Dentalessence are absolutely lovely and went out of their way to help me by arranging to see me quickly and out of hours so thank you very much to Zayd and Brooke for staying late. As a result of this experience I have now changed my Dentist to Dentalessence who offer a wide range of treatments in house and modern dentistry techniques that help to preserve the natural tooth which is a very welcome change! Going to a GP is not something to look forward to but my fears were alaid as soon as I met Dr. Austen. He was courteous and pleasant which put me at ease right away. The nurses and assistants were wonderful. The surgeon who performed my procedure however did not listen to me. I was told beforehand that if I experienced any pain I could tell him and he would stop but this did not happen and I ended up crying in pain with a nurse trying to comfort me while he proceeded to ignore me.
