Every stage of my procedure for my cataract operations (both eyes a week apart) went like 'a dream' from the excellent initial Consultation with Professor Luff, to the 2 excellently/professionally executed outpatient operations he and his excellent team carried out, to the excellent aftercare and not to mention the miraculous results!. If anyone (like me!) is petrified of such procedures I would highly recommend Professor Luff and his Sapphire Team.

I was recently and specifically referred by my optician to Saphire Eye Care and Prof. Luff to have treatment on my cataracts. Over recent years I have suffered from oedema in my retina which was now relatively stable and I wanted to receive the highest level of treatment so as to avoid any impact on my retina and a return to the sight problems that I had previously. I understood that there was potential for this to occur with normal cataract surgery. From the time my first appointment was made by Jennie, the medical secretary, through to the cataract procedures I was supported and cared for at every stage. Prof. Luff was very approachable, explained everything, and dvised me on the type of lens suitable for my eyes. The cataract procedure only took about 15 to 20 minutes, was totally painless and as it turned out was nothing to be worried about at all. My resulting eyesight is extremely good and any potential impact on my retina was completely avoided. I can only give Saphire Eye Care and Prof. Luff the highest praise and recommendation. If anyone is concerned about having treatment on.their eyes, eyesight is so important that I would say don't leave it too late and Prof. Luff and Saphire Eye Care is the first port of call that I would recommend.

I had my treatment done at the spire hospital in Havant, the whole process was very good it was done in April 2025. I have been good heath since the only thing I have never had is feed back from the autopsy which I was told I would get.

I could not fault any part of my recent visit, the care and professionalism of Joan Buckland was exemplary. Joan was very thorough in explaining what procedures were about to take place and included my wife in the discussion who was able to offer relevant input.

From the moment I arrived to the moment i left the care was exemplary. In particular was a nurse called Joan who was just so caring and went out of her way to make me feel comfortable and to ease my anxiety.

I have visited Sapphire eye care on many occasions and i would like to say that i have received first class surgery from Professor Luff and experienced the most amazing after care from him and his team and we got myself to a stable condition with my vitreous floaters that i have in my both my eyes, i would like to add that if you are experiencing floaters in can be very hard to live with and i took the leap of faith to improve my quality of life and that with Sapphire eye care you will be in the safest of hands as your eyes are very delicate and need someone who is highly skilled at their job and i would never go anywhere else, thank you so much for all that you have done for me in the past and are still doing, kind Regards Joe Y.
