Dr Bhavna Sharma

Dr Bhavna Sharma is a Consultant Ophthalmic and Oculoplastic Surgeon specialising in functional, reconstructive and aesthetic eyelid surgery. Her expertise includes blepharoplasty, ptosis correction, entropion and ectropion repair, eyelid lesions and reconstruction, periocular skin cancer, watery eyes and tear-duct disorders, eyelid trauma, dry eye, meibomian gland dysfunction and blepharitis. She also has expertise in cataract surgery.

Dr Sharma graduated in Medicine from the University of Warwick in 2012. She subsequently completed her higher specialist ophthalmology training in Wales before undertaking advanced fellowship training in oculoplastic, orbital and lacrimal surgery at University Hospital Southampton. She has also undertaken observerships in Sheffield and Melbourne and completed a fellowship in aesthetic medicine with the Derma Medical Institute.

Her practice encompasses non-surgical facial aesthetics and skin rejuvenation alongside her surgical work. She also provides botulinum toxin treatment for blepharospasm, hemifacial spasm and facial palsy-related asymmetry. Her approach considers both eye function and appearance, with treatment plans tailored to each patient's eye health, anatomy and individual goals.

Dr Sharma has contributed to medical education and has received recognition for both clinical case presentations and teaching. Her awards include national prizes for best case presentation from SCOPE and Théa, a national prize from the British Oculoplastic Surgery Society, and Cardiff University's Excellence in Teaching Award for her contribution to hosting and teaching medical students.
