Mr Sid Nagala

Mr Sid Nagala is a Consultant ENT Surgeon at the Royal Berkshire Hospital and is also a member of The ENT Consultancy.

Mr Nagala graduated from St George’s Hospital Medical School, London in 2003, earning a BSc (Hons) in Anatomy and Neurosciences during his undergraduate studies. His initial surgical training took place in Newcastle hospitals, covering roles in ENT, Plastic Surgery, and Neurosurgery. Following this, he dedicated a year to teaching surgery to medical students in London, obtaining a Postgraduate Certificate in Healthcare Education.

Mr Nagala completed a translational PhD at the University of Cambridge, focusing on imaging biomarkers in thyroid tumours. His research was supported by grants from Cancer Research UK and the British Association of Head and Neck Oncologists.

He completed his general ENT training through the Yorkshire and Humber programme and was awarded a prestigious National Interface Fellowship in head and neck surgical oncology at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital, Sheffield. He further enhanced his head and neck training with an observership at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre, New York. In his final year of training, he served as President of the National ENT Trainee Association (AOT).

Mr Nagala is the ENT research lead at the Royal Berkshire Hospital and the NIHR Specialty Lead for the Thames Valley. His specialist interests include thyroid and parathyroid surgery, neck lumps and head and neck surgery, salivary gland surgery, voice and throat problems, reflux, and paediatric ENT.
