About Mr Julian Savage

Mr Julian Savage is a well experienced Consultant ENT Surgeon at the Royal Berkshire Hospital and a member of The ENT Consultancy team.

He graduated from Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals in 1996, completing most of his basic and higher surgical training in the Southwest of England. During this period, he developed a passion for ENT, particularly ear diseases, and a strong interest in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education.

In 2010, Mr Savage undertook an 18-month fellowship in Otology and Neurotology at Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia, Canada. There, he gained extensive experience in lateral skull base diseases, including chronic middle ear disease, hearing loss, and balance disorders, under the guidance of two world-renowned otologists. During his fellowship, he was recruited by the University of Sherbrooke in Quebec, a leading centre for innovative medical education.

For 12 years, Mr Savage served as the tertiary otologist for Southeast Quebec, practicing in both English and French. He managed complex ear and balance diseases, earning regional, provincial, and national recognition. He also played a significant role in medical education at both the regional and national levels in Canada, becoming only the second ENT surgeon to receive a national award for his contributions.

Joining the Royal Berkshire Hospital in January 2024, Mr Savage brings a wealth of experience and a deep passion for his subspecialty interests, including diseases of the ear, hearing loss, and balance disorders.
