Explanation
On September 1st, after being diagnosed with retinal detachment I had vitrectomy surgery, done as a day case procedure with Dr Mitry. He also injected a gas bubble in the eye, witch it gradually disappear and I slowly recovered my vision. This whole process took approximately 6-7 weeks. It has been now two months since my procedure and I am delighted to say that not only I have full vision, but my vision is 20/20! I could not expect any better outcome. I have been so lucky to have Dr Mitry as my surgeon. He has been so supportive throughout the whole journey. He made me feel so relaxed and I always felt my eye was in safe hands. Without a doubt, Dr Mitry has been the right surgeon for me and I can not praise him enough for the wonderful job he has done with my eye!

Explanation
Mr Mitry performed a vitrectomy for a macular hole in my eye and carried out a cataract procedure at the same time. He explained clearly and calmly in advance what the procedure would involve as well as what to do afterwards and he checked my eye five days after the operation. Both before the operation and afterwards, he was able to address all of my concerns in a direct and reassuring way, showing me my x-rays to explain everything and carefully checking my eyes at each consultation. He has a great team who supported him during the surgery and his administrative team were always helpful and responded promptly to my emails. Thanks to Mr Mitry, the hole has been closed and after three months the blurriness in the centre of my eye has nearly disappeared. Not being able to see properly is scary and I would have no hesitation in recommending Mr Mitry who is clearly a specialist in these procedures (and I am sure much more) and who is a very personable and professional consultant Ophthalmologist and ophthalmic surgeon.

Explanation
A very positive experience. Mr Mitry is very calm and relaxed and was totally prepared to answer all my follow up questions regarding choice of IOL. I chose a multifocal lens and was prepared for the side effects of halos and glares. For me they are totally acceptable, as I now have near perfect eye sight both near and distant. My recovery was fast and the follow up appointment scheduled only a week after surgery which was good and reassuring. If I ever need my other eye done I would not hesitate going back to Mr Mitry and will certainly recommend him to others .
