From initial consultation with Mez, who was the first consultant (of many) to actually hear, understand and validate my symptoms... to the admissions team, pre op assessment, ward staff on surgery day, anaesthetist and theatre team, I honestly couldn't have had better care if I had gone private. 12 weeks post surgery and I have never felt better - didn't even realise until after my surgery that my pain was daily; I had got so used to it. The most stressful and frustrating part of using RTN services is the lack of communication and poor response times. I have used RTN both via the right to choose path and for a private assessment. You would expect the private service to be quicker and have better communication but this has not been my experience. It is impossible to get hold of anybody. I have sent multiple emails and left voicemail but there is no sense of urgency in responding and waiting times are long. You don't even receive an acknowledgement or holding email to manage expectations. Some very basic and easy changes could be made to make the customer experience so much better.

The doctor was really rude and unprofessional about other members of staff to me. He also didn't check that I'd received appropriate amount of anaesthetic before doing the procedure leaving me in an unacceptable amount of pain for which he didn't apologise or check to see if I was ok. He also tried to do the procedure on the wrong eye and after checking the eye he could see where I'd had a previous procedure and said, "At least I can see you're not lying". I do not want this awful man near me ever again.

The check up today went really well and I was given reassurance and advice toward looking after my eyes by the thourough Cathedral Eye knowledgeable and experienced staff. The different tests and mannerly handovers following scans etc. from start to finish of appointment are seamless. And the appointment starts so well being welcomed in at the front desk, through too being checked out so that nothing is forgotten from eye drops to appointment times leaving nothing to chance.

This was my final post operative check up after my ear operation. Dr Cresswall has a pleasant manner and explains everything in detail in a way that is easily understandable. Throughout my treatment, from the initial appointment, through my operation and post operative check ups, Dr Cresswell has been excellent. I will need an operation on my other ear and I have no problem being looked after by Dr Cresswell. I know I am in a safe pair of hands.

Everything explained and all questions answered. Paperwork back to a different reception desk (reservations I think) and they said they would let me know a date in the near future.
