Admin efficiency Things didn't get off to a great start when there seemed to be an issue regarding what my insurance would cover, even though I had received two confirmations from the insurer over the phone and one confirmation by email. I felt a bit like a criminal and that I was lying about the treatment being covered. In the end, the insurer had to phone Practice Plus direct to sort it out, because no-one would believe that I was telling the truth. I've never come across this problem before at the Spire or the Nuffield. Usually the admin trail works very smoothly. Cleanliness The carpet in the waiting area is dirty and is covered in tea/coffee stains. There were pubic hairs on the toilet seat in one of the toilets by the waiting area. Not great at all. Waiting Time I am a private patient and I usually use the Spire in Bristol or the Nuffield, which run to time. My appointment for an injection was 30minutes late. Unacceptable. Staff To be fair, some of the staff are lovely. But some of the staff are downright rude. When I went to speak to one of the receptionists after waiting for my appointment for over 20minutes, I simply asked to check that I was on the system. The answer "yes". Oh I said, it's just that I haven't been called yet. Is there a delay? The answer "yes" - and a roll of the eyes to say "yes and your problem with that is??" I have to have another appointment at some point, so let's hope that my next experience is better.

GenesisCare Cambridge

I was referred to Genesis by the NHS consultant oncologist to receive radiotherapy and hormone treatment for for my diagnosed advanced prostate cancer. I was seen very quickly at the Newmarket (Cambridge) branch of Genesis. The facilities are modern with state of the art CT and radiotherapy equipment. At all times the staff of all disciplines and specialties were extremely helpful and understanding. After 4 weeks (20 sessions) of radiotherapy my regular attendance finished. However I will continue to have regular reviews there with the oncologist and be given the specialist hormone therapy and other pills to be taken for 2 years. Another impressive feature at Genesis is the inclusion of gym sessions under personal guidance from two expert trainers. This is most helpful in countering the muscle loss resulting from hormone therapy. I am continuing with these sessions for some weeks after completing my treatment. In summary, Genesis Care has provided the highest possible standard of specialist cancer treatment and I would strongly recommend this organisation when radiotherapy treatment is needed.

I was met on reception by the doctor and immediately put at ease. In the consulting room he went through the procedure, causes and consequences of having permanent AF. Then, moving into the room to have my scan he pointed out what was being displayed on the screen showing the movement of blood through my heart and diagnosing the cause of my AF. I felt the procedure was never bing rushed and gave me plenty of opportunity to ask questions. He put me at easy explaining that my problem was quite common and although there was no easy cure, could be managed with medication and change of lifestyle. He confirmed that the risk of going ahead with my pending knee operation was fairly limited. I was pleased to see that his findings were passed on to my GP, sending me a copy of the letter.

From start to finish Daye is intuitive and easy to use. I’ve done many online health tests prior to this but nothing compares to the level of service Daye provides. For clarity I did the full screen and purchased the 30 min nurse call. The sample is beyond easy to take and post. The results came back fast and were clear to understand, on top I was sent a beautiful kind email and was also offered a free call to over my HPV results. I didn’t use this but my 30 min call with the nurse was invaluable. I would have been happy to pay triple the price for the service I received. I will be 100% using Daye again and have already recommended to friends.

I have had blephaerospasm for several years requiring injections around my eyes and in my eyelids approximately 4 times per year. Dr Baig took over from my previous Doctor who had retired. Dr Baig has an easy well-informed manner than put me immediately at ease. Having injections directly into your eyelids requires enormous trust in the person applying them. I trust Dr Baig completely and feel totally safe. He is also someone who clearly keeps abreast of any developments in. his specialist field which reassures me that I am receiving the correct and most up-to-date treatment for my condition.

I have had various symptoms of perimenopause over the last year or so but it came to a head a few months ago when i had a severe panic attack and seemed to develop anxiety. I am finding this difficult to cope with and the GP didn't seem to help me. I met with Dr Colquhoun and she was lovely, provided me with alot of information and advice and took me and my symptoms seriously. As a result I now have a course of action and have had HRT prescribed and a coil fitted. Whilst this is all new to me, i am feeling very positive about this plan and hopeful that I can start to feel like myself again!

This was my 2 nd cataract op with Mr Kamran Khan at Newmedica Leeds. I was very happy with my treatment with everyone especially Wr Kamran Khan who I can’t recommend enough, he was friendly, assuring and also the lovely nurse who looked after me after my op. Sorry I can’t remember her name but she was so caring. Anyone going for a cararact op this place is brilliant and everyone I came in contact with both times I was there I feel I couldn’t have had better. Someone calls you the following day to check that you are okay so everything perfect. Thank you all.

the appointment for my adhd assessment was online so I can’t comment on the cleaness of the office. The difficult part of this process was trying to keep track of the forms and how many questions you had to answer on a form without being able to save as you go along or being able to print them off and take your time to remember the examples. It would be great to have a checklist on screen that showed which forms you had completed and which ones were still left to do. The assessor put me at ease, she explained everything clearly.

I have only positive things to say! I managed to get an appointment at a very convenient time for myself, and the staff worked really hard to make that happen. I was very well looked after on my day in hospital. The nurse was very nice and showed great empathy when I was feeling a little nervous. The procedure went well and I am now (almost) recovered, with just my final consultation to go. This was my third experience at McIndoe, and they were all equally as good.

The Doctors Lounge Chalfont

I think the Doctors Lounge is such a great personal investment. You are able to see a doctor quickly, they have all your notes in front of them and have excellent referal doctors should you need further support. I cannot recomend Dr. Nik Chopra and his team more highly. It also means you take pressure off your local GP who can then spend their time with patients who need to use the NHS service. Think outstanding service and value for money.

Mr Sood communication style is clear, uncluttered and direct. Our consultation followed a similar pattern . He ensured I was comfortable with what he had done, understood the likely consequences going forward and in the unlikely event of a issue with the replacement support was available. I left my final consultation with Mr Sood in the knowledge I had been expertly looked after by one of the best in his field. . Class Act.

On my first visit Zoe quickly identified that my pain was caused by a torn ligament in my left knee. She explained clearly what this meant and showed me a number of daily exercises to strengthen my knees and alleviate the pain. By my final visit I was able to walk freely again without pain and I was given a revised plan to continue with specific regular exercises alongside regular walks and cycling.

The whole experience has been an overall success and I would recommend the procedure to any man thinking of going down the same route. The outcomes have been positive in every level. My urine flow is back to where it should be and without any loss of libido. The early stages of having to wear a catheter was most uncomfortable but medium to long term I see aquablation as a very helpful procedure

Returned for my 6 week follow-up post left side inguinal hernia repair on the 5th Jan. Text book recovery. Mr Khanna inspected the site and confirmed it was holding strong. I’ve returned to running +10k. Lifting weights in the gym. As of 17th Jan it feels great. Having to hold myself back for a few more weeks. No pain on any activity now. Mr Khanna has worked his magic.
