I was recently and specifically referred by my optician to Prof. Luff to have treatment on my cataracts. Over recent years I have suffered from oedema in my retina which was now relatively stable and I wanted to receive the highest level of treatment so as to avoid any impact on my retina and a return to the sight problems that I had previously. I understood that there was potential for this to occur with normal cataract surgery. From the time of my first appointment through to my cataract procedures, Prof. Luff was extremely professional, approachable, supportive and totally dedicated to providing the best outcomes possible for my eyes. He advised me on the lenses most suited for my eyes, fully explained what was going to happen and the surgery was then conducted within a few days. The cataract procedures took only about 15 to 20 minutes, I was put at ease throughout and they were totally painless. I can now genuinely say that cataract surgery is not something to be frightened of and is totally painless. My resulting eyesight is extremely good and any potential impact on my retina was completely avoided. I can only give Prof. Luff the highest praise and recommendation. If anyone is concerned about having treatment on.their eyes, eyesight is so important that I would say don't leave it too late and Prof. Luff would be the first port of call that I would highly recommend.

On visiting consultant Subhajit Ghosh a prescription was given to the nurse to be ordered for my next appointment as it was something that was not kept in stock at OSD. I needed to check my diary to see if I could make this next appointment at OSD Healthcare in Hemel Hempstead to have the prescription or, see the consultant at Spire Hospital on another day. On checking my diary I found I could make it and I phoned and arranged an appointment with Subhajit Ghosh. Unfortunately, the prescription had not been ordered so when I turned up for my next appointment I was unable to have my treatment and I would have to see him again another time. I appreciate mix ups happen but thought OSD Healthcare should check their procedures in instances such as this, so that prescriptions are ordered once patients have confirmed they can make future appointments.

Very happy with the set up all round. Consultant amazingly helpful in comparison. He was extremely knowledgeable and very concerned . I liked the fact that he actually listened when I explained my problem. ( Its tedious even for me to hear so I can understand the need to switch off at times)...!...but obviously extremely painful ! The actual appointment with the consultant was about 30 minutes. He examined me and advised medication for immediately and perhaps in the future. Excellent man ,so nice . Professional, caring and respectful staff. I have already completed a survey which pointed out two negatives amongst an otherwise perfect experience. I was not offered any pain relief the first night after my op, which I understand I should have asked for. However it is known that everyone experiences pain at this point so would have thought pain relief would have been automatic. Also, while I was having a procedure the nurse put a 'No Entry' sign on my door but a member of the catering staff knocked and entered. I did call to come in but presumed it was a nurse.

Professor Chinoy is exceptionally clear when explaining treatment, which is genuinely refreshing. We have seen other consultants who, whilst helpful, can feel rushed and are not nearly as clear in their explanations. Professor Chinoy takes the time to explain things in language we can understand and is friendly and approachable throughout. He encourages questions and never makes you feel uncomfortable or foolish for asking them. This level of clarity and care makes a real difference, and we would welcome more clinicians with this approach.

NLM Clinic in Doncaster provides you privacy of consultation. It is located quite central, however not on the main road, which means that the privacy is maintained at all times. The environment is calm and comfortable. You are offered a drink on arrival and the consultation room, despite being small is welcoming and comfortable. Highly recommended.

Everything was fantastic - wasted 6 months since original NHS Xrays that weren't correct & delays getting referred from my doctor.
