I booked a consultation for my daughter, Olivia P,with Mr Robert Sutcliffe on Monday 24th November 2025 at 2.00pm. With Olivia’s full consent, I handled all communication on her behalf due to her work commitments. Before the appointment, Mr Sutcliffe’s secretary contacted me to ask whether the consultation could be moved to the following week. I explained that we were due to travel abroad for three weeks to celebrate my husband’s milestone birthday. She advised she would discuss this with Mr Sutcliffe. She later called back to confirm that, in light of our circumstances, Mr Sutcliffe was happy to keep the original appointment — which he honoured. I accompanied Olivia to her consultation. Mr Sutcliffe was exceptionally thorough. He examined her carefully, explained his diagnosis with clarity and compassion, and put both of us completely at ease as he outlined the next steps. He requested a further liver function blood test, which Olivia had done at Nuffield Health Wolverhampton. I asked Nuffield Health to send the results to both Mr Sutcliffe and Olivia’s GP, which was done. Mr Sutcliffe’s secretary informed me as soon as the results were received and assured me they would be reviewed promptly. True to her word, Mr Sutcliffe reviewed the results quickly. His secretary then advised that he had no concerns and that our planned follow-up in the New Year could go ahead as arranged. I would also like to note that, as we were leaving Harborne Hospital, we happened to see Mr Sutcliffe leaving at the same time. It was clear he had come in specifically to see Olivia that day, knowing we were travelling abroad — something he was under no obligation to do. As a family, we found this gesture incredibly thoughtful and deeply appreciated it. Throughout the entire process, Mr Sutcliffe could not have been more helpful, supportive or empathetic. I am truly grateful that we can now go away on our family celebration holiday with complete peace of mind, knowing my daughter is under the care of such a capable, caring and dedicated professional. Exemplary care — thank you. Mr Sutcliffe is thoroughly deserving of recognition Karen S P Mother of Mr Sutcliffe’s patient, O P

We opted for private care at UCLH because we wanted the birth experience to be as positive as possible. As a medically uncomplicated patient I felt that I may not receive much attention or time on an overstretched NHS ward. I also had some anxieties around birth (as a healthcare professional myself) and felt reassured to be receiving consultant-led care, from a clinician with whom I was able to build a trusting relationship. Shalini provided exceptional care from 32 weeks pregnancy and after delivery. She got to know me and my partner, and understood our priorities and concerns. I had previously found it hard to make decisions around birth. Shalini provided us with evidence, data and her experience - this empowered us to make our decisions. She spent a lot of time with us and brought great care, empathy and kindness to her practice, as well as her excellent clinical skills. When we had questions, fears or anxieties Shalini was able to reassure us, both with her kindness and her experience and expertise. The care she provides is holistic and individualised - she advocated for me in many ways and empowered me to advocate for myself too. We had an elective caesarean at 39 weeks. The surgery was pain free and crucially for me, I felt confident and safe - something that was not natural for me in approaching birth. Shalini was close at hand to care for us before and afterwards. I made an excellent recovery and have healed extremely well. I recommend Dr Shalni in the strongest terms to mothers and families looking for private care at UCLH. Shalini is passionate about obstetrics, her patients and practising medicine. It is a great privilege to be cared for by a clinician at the top of her field, who clearly cares deeply about her patients.

I had booked an echocardiogram with a female technician, and had taken the day off work to attend, but when I arrived and asked about the female technician (to confirm), I was told that a female was not available, which was extremely disappointing. I had called twice earlier in the day (before travelling to the appointment) to confirm that a female was available, but no one in the echo department answered the phone. Further, I have been attending the Cleveland Clinic since March of last year, when I had a subarachnoid haemorrhage, and had been told that my standing request for a female echocardiogram technician had been recorded in my patient profile. The staff in the imaging department seemed to be surprised that a woman having this test would insist on a female technician, which indicated a lack of sensitivity and training, and they appeared not to know how to handle this situation. So, not only did I waste my time and lose a work day due to this oversight, but I had to cancel my follow-up cardiology consultation, and now cannot take time off work to reschedule until the new year, which has created a very stressful situation for me. In my opinion, the Cleveland Clinic should always have a female echocardiogram technician on duty, for women who are uncomfortable with a male, and the front desk staff needs much better training in this regard.

Receptionist was absolutely lovely and really friendly and helpful. The building and facilities were all excellent and kept clean and tidy. The consultant I saw was extremely rude, arrogant and judgemental. There were several comments he made that shocked me and that made me feel very uncomfortable to the point I almost walked out mid appointment. There was very little sympathy or mindfulness of my injury and he came across extremely judgemental in the assumptions he made about the level of sport I played, what I could afford, and several other things. I actually play semi-professionally and have represented our country in World Championships in the sport I play, and I also have a law degree and accountancy qualification which I did not mention as quite frankly it is irrelevant. It was apparent he took a dislike to me for whatever reason from the start and the whole experience was very uncomfortable. His behaviour aside, he is clearly very knowledgeable and good at what he does. Reading between the lines I got the answer I needed. This hospital was recommended to me by one of your previous patients and I was lucky to get booked in through an NHS referral but after my experience I would never return for any issue and am relieved I didn't pay to go private.

It has been almost four months since I donated a kidney to my husband, and I feel incredibly fortunate to have had Mr Prodromos Laftsidis as my Consultant Kidney Surgeon. From my very first consultation, he put me completely at ease — taking the time to listen to my concerns and clearly explain every aspect of the procedure, including both the benefits and potential risks. His calm, reassuring manner inspired great confidence before and after surgery, which was invaluable during such a challenging time. Mr Laftsidis’s exceptional surgical skill, combined with his compassion, professionalism, and excellent communication, made me feel as though I was his only patient. He also has a wonderful sense of humour, which he shares at just the right moments to lighten the mood. I am deeply grateful for his outstanding care and dedication, and I would wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone in need of a kidney specialist or surgeon.

I received warm, well informed professional attention throughout my care at St Anthony's Hospital; from outpatients through to discharge. The room was clean, well heated and ventilated, equipment checked and the armchairs comfortable. The unit was quiet. Nursing staff answered call bells promptly and with kindness and a smile. No request was considered a problem. Their level of knowledge and professionalism was excellent along with the standard of care. Physiotherapy care was also excellent and given with respect to my individual needs. Recovery staff were informative and reassuring. Excellent care there too. I include catering staff who also took care in their work. A few glitches with the electronics on the bed and the new bathroom which received prompt attention - the unit has been recently renovated.

I had a total knee replacement and from start to present, I have been treated amazingly. All staff are amazing and simply brilliant at their job and in particular care of patients. Special mention to Salmon (Sal) who looked after me on the day post operation. he was superb, so helpful and patient. The team that looked after me immediately post op, were terrific, so kind and understanding. Mr Gillespie's pre-operating team were so reassuring especially when I was so nervous regarding the spinal block. Thank you to everyone for such superb care and attention. Although I was in tremendous pain post op, I can now reflect and appreciate who well I was looked after and especially the individual care and attention displayed by the team - very simply 'thank you'

I went to see Mr Otify after seeing another consultant, which had dismissed my symptoms as womb pain. I had been in pain for over 12 months, it was making life very hard and sometimes the pain was unbearable. Mr Otify did not dismiss my symptoms or my thoughts. He is very easy to talk to and listens. We quickly came up with a plan . I had surgery 5 weeks ago, total hysterectomy and removed endometriosis, although I am still recovering from surgery, the pain I was experiencing has now gone. I had my follow up appointment the other day, he explained everything he did during surgery and his findings. I would most certainly recommend going to see mr Otify , it was the best decision I made and I can not fault him as a person or as a surgeon.

From first meeting with Mr Haslam he spoke so much in lay men’s vocabulary which gave me confidence in the procedure I was to have. Operation was just as had been discussed at the first meeting in July. I was told that a full knee replacement would be painful, which was true and even after eight weeks can still feel sore. Physiotherapists have been. So very helpful in my recovery. I was able to update Mr Haslam , how I was doing and thankfully he was delighted with my progress. I do realise that progress is ongoing for a while but I have been given confidence and assurance by Mr Haslam that all is going well.

We chose Montrose as they appeared on a lot of ‘Right to Choose’ websites and were rated by the CQC and as soon as I called Mollie and the team’s support has been superb. The charges and plans were shared upfront and were explained well. We paid to have a private Adult ADHD assessment and the speed of the booking / assessment/report/ treatment plans and meetings were quick. Communication was excellent and most of all the support was top notch and expert. We have felt very supported and very secure that we are getting the best life changing support. Thank you all so very much.

Whilst Dr Housami was not able to personally perform the reccomended treatment, he was very helpful un reccomending consultants and the process I needed to follow to proceed, and left me feeling he really cared about finding me the right outcomes. They are a very clear and straightforward doctor. However if you need any follow up, or want a correct follow up letter detailing your appointment/diagnosis or need to contact their secretary I would advise seeing another doctor especially if you are paying privately or else you will be chasing for weeks with no answer and being promptly ignored. It's a real shame that the aftercare was so poor.

My appointment with Mr Chatoo was good. He was on time and explained how he was going to proceed. The only complaint I have (which I found out later) is that he had my date of birth wrong and made me 3 years older than I am! This probably wasn't his fault as he was most likely given the wrong information!
