I’m always so happy to go to Portland Place. I have checkups there on a regularly scheduled basis with Dr Potts-who is absolutely wonderful and is working with me to stabilize the NALD that I have had for over three years. My recent checkup was for bloodwork and MRI and I want to thank Dexter the phlebotomist who went the extra mile to call imaging to ask if he could put the cannula in so I would only have one arm prick-this is an exceedingly person centered approach to healthcare, and I wish that it could go straight across the healthcare system. The person centered approach puts the individual at the center and her team or his team communicate with one another, which is the optimum in healthcare so thank you Dexter for setting an example of person centered care when it comes to an individual and I also want to thank Cleveland Clinic London and Cleveland Clinic Ohio. You are my heroes.!!

My whole experience from start to finish has been absolutely amazing! All staff have been 100% in their delivery of care and support. I felt safe and looked after. The anaesthetist and theatre staff before both operations were totally dedicated in ensuring I felt at ease at a time when I felt most anxious. All ward nurses and assistants were focussed on delivering the highest standard of care with their patience and nothing being too much trouble. Pantry team kept me well fed with delicious drinks and food and always with a smile. Imaging team were so caring, cheerful and again reassuring and professional. The physio team are incredible, they have encouraged and lead me to where I am now - so very nearly there. I cannot fault my experience at Gatwick Spire. A massive thank you to Mr Panose and all teams involved in my operations and recovery.

The aquablation procedure was much better than I had initially feared. With any procedure relating to that part of the body you are naturally apprehensive but the procedure was very efficient and it didn’t take me very long to recover at all. I am younger than the average male going through this procedure but it was recommended as my urine flow was poor and it would only get worse as time passed. Secondary impacts on my bladder may also have happened later on if I hadn’t had it done. My urine flow is now significantly better and I can now approach old age with the knowledge that at least one part of my body is functioning correctly. I would certainly recommend getting this done when you notice a restricted urine flow rather than waiting for it to become a major issue.

I am very thankful to have had Mr Justin as my consultant during my recent Hysterectomy. From the first consultation he listened to my symptoms. Was reassuring and explained my options clearly and concisely. Although the staff were amazing I found the actual cataract operation deeply unpleasant. I could see everything that was being done whilst being unable to move - the real stuff of nightmares, though the actual operation was a complete success. If I may suggest a way to make this experience a little more bearable would be to enable patients to choose their own music to listen to? As a professional singing practitioner, I'm aware how effective music can be in distraction? (I personally found the choice of radio station and programme increased the unpleasantness of the experience)

I can’t find the right words to express my gratitude to Dr Patani for his care. I went to see him for a follow-up consultation and everything went extremely well thanks to his amazing skills as a surgeon. I recovered very well after surgery, and thought of the precision with which a surgeon has to strike a delicate balance between removing enough and not removing too much, especially when I had waited until that lump grew a lot. And Dr Patani achieved that delicate balancing act! For me the essential fact is that eight months down the line, there is no recurrence of that lump!

Very efficient, clean and high standard as expected. As an aside, I really did appreciate the way the receptionist wrote my date of birth on a piece of paper and asked me quietly if it was correct. I intensely dislike the way receptionists in surgeries etc shout out so loudly, "DATE OF BIRTH??" in public. No discretion or politeness anywhere as a rule. More importantly, perhaps, the doctor was very helpful, efficient and very kind.. Thank you.
