The visit was for a two year review of a revision ankle replacement. I was very pleased to have been able to undertake this just some two or three months after a telephone contact with Mt Shalaby's secretary at St John's. Mr Shalaby was courteous as ever, gave clearly understandable information throughout the conversation. Furthermore, and somewhat unexpectedly, he flagged up a further review around the five year anniversary of the operation. I am, as before, delighted with the result of the intervention and have indeed recommended the process - and Mr Shalaby and his team - to a number of ankly distressed friends and acquaintances.

All the staff were friendly and helpful. The entire stay was comfortable and I felt informed at all times. Although I asked the anaesthetist and two other staff members for numbing cream for the cannula and being told this would be ok, this wasn't done. When I got to the theatre, the theatre nurse explained it was too late. I was a bit disappointed that I was only allowed a sandwich in the evening but was told this was because of the anaesthetic. The breakfast was lovely and one of the nurses kindly helped me with my suitcase when I left which was appreciated.

I recently underwent a laparoscopic appendicectomy with Mr Tomasi. Mr Tomasi and his staff were extremely professional and guided me through the process, step by step. Mr Tomasi took extensive time to explain his advice before the surgery, giving me the right confidence the make the choice. The procedure was smooth and I'm recovering nicely. Mr Tomasi and his staff are following up on a daily basis with me to ensure I recover as best as possible. Overall, I'm very happy with the care and professionalism of Mr Tomasi, and would surely recommend his services.

I suddenly saw “shooting stars” on the outside of my vision in one eye. Realising this could have been a retinal tear needing emergency treatment to save my vision, I immediately made a private appointment to see Mr Alexander. The service I received was absolutely fantastic. My eyes were thoroughly examined by Mr Alexander who has an excellent bedside manner. He explained everything clearly, answered my questions and made a plan going forward. Luckily, my retina was intact and no treatment was required. The sense of relief I felt was priceless.

Very good ,only thing is after surgery and just before final appointment I was asked for my bank details I had paid everything last Nov a month before my surgery they agreed everything was paid but wanted to have a bank card on record ,Why ? I was asked again when I went to see mr smith for my final check up ,absolutely no need if front of other people when I didn't owe anything it made me feel like I owed something even though she said it was a token just to have it on record

After a frustrating year with an ankle injury sustained playing football, seeing Alex at PSM has been great. Alex provided a detailed analysis of my gait and took a 3D scan of my foot to create orthoses customised to me. He also clearly explained what was going on with my ankle and how it can get better, having done a number of tests to pinpoint the issue. Highly recommend Alex for anyone struggling with a foot-related sports injury.

We came to see Dr Bridgens after my son broke his arm. We had been told by a different surgeon he may need surgery and not to travel (on a much needed holiday). Dr Bridgens was so reassuring that he did not in fact need surgery and she also helped facilitate things so we could go away. All the staff on the ward, theatre and recovery were very friendly and helpful. I was in room 5 and while l waited in the theatre gown I was cold. I was asked to change 3 hours before I was called to theatre. I noticed one of the radiators was not working which I reported on discharge. The actual procedure went very well and was kept informed of all things that were happening.

Mr Loh carried out revision surgery on my chest following an incomplete excision carried out by a surgeon in London. So my anxiety levels were quite high but Mr Loh's kindness, empathy and confidence at our consultation and on the day of surgery made me feel a lot better. I had a surgery which was slightly delayed, but the operation itself was carried out very well. The ward was nice, comfortable, and clean. The only issue was that the kitchen forgot about my meal, and I ended up waiting 1.5 hours for my food despite two reminders. The nurses and doctors were of an exceptionally high standard.

During my Stay at the Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital. I could not have been looked after any better. Everybody I came in contact with from the nurses, physio, catering staff, cleaners were all friendly, kind and efficient!!
