20/10 I was recommended to Dr Alek by multiple friends, including one who is a doctor herself and trained under him. He came highly, highly recommended and is known as the best in the business — and I can completely understand why. From the moment I walked into the practice, I was warmly greeted by Sam, the practice administrator. She was friendly, welcoming, and made me feel right at home. Thank you, Sam! I’ve seen many aesthetic doctors and practitioners before, and Dr Alek is by far the best I’ve ever experienced. Previously, consultations felt rushed — numbing cream applied, a quick question about what I wanted, and straight into the procedure. With Dr Alek, it was completely different. We began with a thorough consultation where we discussed my concerns, the procedures I was interested in, and everything I’ve previously had done — including where, when, and any medications I’m on. He then did a full facial assessment, looking at proportions, symmetry, and structure. He carefully felt for any existing filler or lumps, explained what they were, and clearly walked me through what we can and can’t do moving forward. Everything was explained in a way that was detailed yet easy to understand. We created a thoughtful plan of action together, and what stood out most was that he never once tried to “sell” me on anything — something I’ve experienced with every other practitioner before. It’s immediately clear that he truly cares about his patients, has an incredible passion for what he does, and an exceptional eye for detail. He really knows his craft. Today we did Botox, and it was genuinely pain-free. He is precise, intentional, and incredibly gentle. As soon as I left, I couldn’t wait to call my husband and tell him how amazing the experience was. I’ve now officially joined my group of friends who cannot recommend Dr Alek highly enough. When my BCC diagnosis was confirmed, it was very scary and I wondered how things would progress and what outcome could be achieved. The first stage was to research the options. The main one being to identify the best procedure and the best surgeon. MOHS surgery came out as the best option for success, in terms of reoccurrence and the overall cosmetic appearance. Dr Aslam topped the list to perform this surgery. The initial consultation with Dr Aslam proved I had made the right choice. From the very start I felt confident and reassured. On the day of the surgery I was naturally very nervous. However, Dr Aslam and his excellent team helped considerably to reduce any tension. The whole team, Lisa, Gina and Sheila made conversation throughout the surgery and as such it was possible to have a couple of laughs. Don’t be afraid about being awake. The results? Well I could not be more pleased. The outcome has exceeded my expectations and to say I am pleased is an understatement. I am genuinely thrilled. My second “follow up” appointment was today (3 weeks after surgery) and Dr Aslam is equally thrilled. I can’t finish this review without mentioning Claire, the very efficient and helpful secretary to Dr Aslam. I had a consultant review with Dr Shaikh for the re-initiation and titration of medication for a pre-existing ADHD diagnosis, and I was extremely impressed with the care I received. Dr Shaikh reviewed my previous clinical notes in a timely manner, which allowed him to offer me an initial appointment very quickly. He was attentive, professional, and took the time to fully understand my situation and reasons for seeking treatment again. He came across as highly knowledgeable and experienced in ADHD, and the discussion around medication options was clear, thorough, and informative. I felt listened to and supported throughout the consultation. Following the appointment, I received my clinic letter very quickly and was given the opportunity to suggest any amendments, which were addressed promptly. Dr Shaikh also provided a letter of support for education and employment without me having to ask, which was incredibly helpful and thoughtful. Overall, my experience with Dr Shaikh was excellent, and I would highly recommend him to anyone seeking an ADHD assessment.

I recently had bilateral cataract surgery. From start to finish the treatment I received was excellent. The patient liaison manager was really helpful, friendly, incredibly supportive and a welcome calming influence. I was amazed by the state of the art optical equipment that was available to ensure that my lenses were perfectly suited to the dimensions of my eyes and my prescription, as well as the care that the technicians took while taking the measurements. The optometrists I saw were caring and informative, ensuring that I knew about the different types of intra ocular lenses available and what I may expect from them. They carried out my eye tests with care and patience. The eye surgeon was incredibly experienced and very skilled, and carried out the procedure very efficiently with great care. Now, six weeks post-surgery, I am very grateful of the care I received and the quality and clarity of my lenses; both aspects easily surpassed all my expectations. I would highly recommend Freedom Vision, Chelmsford to anyone considering cataract surgery.

I had penis filler and it was one of the worst decisions I’ve ever made. I had the filler on the Monday and by Wednesday I was in a&e with a very balloon swollen penis and had to have catheter inserted in my penis for 5 days. I was then rushed for emergency surgery the next morning to remove the filler and infection at the injection site. I was in hospital and 5 days and I’m now under a nhs urologist because the urologist at Moorgate cancelled the video call because he said it was unwell. Once they have your money your on your own and the chances of compilations are a lot higher than what they claim. The office I had my filler was not sterilised and moor like someone’s living room. Once if fully recovered I find out if it’s caused and permanent damage I will be looking to start a medical neglect claim against Moorgate. PLEASE if your thinking about having this done seriously I would re consider. Just use an extender/pump.

Experience OK but to have to travel 80 mile round trip with 24 hrs notice was stressful, for the pre-accessment which I had to ask for, as not arranged. If I had been told on the information letter that if I was taking antibiotics I would need to have 4 weeks clear before I could have my procedure, this would have prevented me from excepting the procedure date I had been given. Therefore would have given the date to someone else. I had two weeks notice of my procedure which is OK if all information had been given to me. Find the administration side lacking. Lovely staff. .

Both occasions on visiting the practice have been fantastic. Having a fear of the dentist isn’t great, but the reassurance from the staff is absolutely second to none. Talking through the steps to give you an indication of what’s going on etc. checking in constantly to make sure everything is ok with the procedure taking place! The staff are professional and very friendly, the practice is probably one of the best I’ve ever visited. It doesn’t have a normal sterile dentist feel to it! Again a great experience for someone who isn’t particularly keen on visiting the dentist.

Thyroid blood test. Never been before. Autistic so some challeges : a sign on door to push would have helped, it was intimidating, couldn’t get in straight away. An area with reduced lighting to wait would have reduced my overwhelm, was very close to waiting outside. Became very overwhelmed trying to explain which test I had booked, knew there was a fault on the website. Although the situation was rectified satisfactorily, it was still an overwhelming, triggering experience.
