Usually feedback is of a negative nature but this is not one of those occasions. My experience was awesome for which I am super grateful. I have had a number of gastroscopies in my life so was nervous about what was going to happen. From the moment of my arrival I was greeted and made to feel comfortable straight away. The pre-procedure nurses were very clear, helpful and showed huge amounts of empathy about what was going to happen. When wheeled into the operating theatre I was introduced to all of the team who were to perform the procedure, all of whom had welcoming smiles and a reassuring tone (a tone that continued throughout the procedure). Dr Alan Watson was super clear, professional and again very comforting. I knew I was in safe hands. I just had a throat spray, no sedation, so was fully aware of what was going on. One action that was performed by a nurse during the procedure was to, comfortingly, rub my shoulder. I couldn’t see who it was, but such a small, seemingly insignificant action, was hugely important to me and kept me connected with humanity during the brutal fact that I had a scope down my throat. Post procedure, I was greeted with the warm smiles again and wheeled to the recovery area where again everyone was super attentive. I can’t say thank you enough for everything. The team were awesome.

Professor Jian Farhadi

Professor Farhadi performed a thigh flap breast reconstruction for me two years ago, and a follow up nipple reconstruction with fat transfer a year ago. While this is a more complex surgery with longer recovery than some, I couldn't be happier with the result. The breast feels and looks completely natural, and is a perfect match for my natural breast. The scar on my thigh has faded completely and is positioned in a way that is unnoticeable. I trust Professor Farhadi completely. He performed by original reconstruction in 2012, which was an implant that also looked great but unfortunately ruptured ten years later due to long term effects from radio therapy. There was no question in my mind of using another surgeon for the follow up procedure. He is a perfectionist and has an excellent eye. He also explains everything very clearly, which helped me make the decision for which route to take both times.

Mr Simon Wemyss-Holden

I had no experience which would help me choose a consultant and had to use the CVs on the Spire website. I mainly chose Mr Wemyss-Holden because of his laparoscopic expertise. He was excellent. Since then, I've met a number of patients who also have a very high opinion of him. On meeting, he immediately put me at my ease, gave a confident diagnosis, explained my operation and assured me it would be successful. All of which he duly delivered. For the operation, he once again explained what would happen and returned afterwards to tell me of its success and what to expect going forward. The following week he gave me a check over and discharged me. Throughout, Mr Wemyss-Holden was very pleasant, while giving me a great deal of confidence that my treatment would be successful. He was open to questions and explained everything in detail.

Due to my individual circumstances there was some confusion in relation to payment and that spilled over onto me personally as well as causing stress across the whole procedure at the outset. This was resolved but exposes the fact that some attention needs to be paid to the way things are looked at and handles when the circumstances fall outside of the general conventions of the service provided. In the end it was all sorted out but the initial confusion and stress could have been avoided. I have no complaints but was a bit surprised at the apparent chaos at the outset. I have no idea if any one aspect was to blame, I think it was probably general confusion in relation to gaps in communication between the parties involved in payment etc.

It was our first time seeing Dr Ratheesh. Running behind but to be expected being later in the day. Dr Ratheesh listened/checked my daughter’s chest and temperature. Confirmed notes when typing and gave a great explanation and example of what to look out for along with sending over information via text. Obviously a lot going around coming into winter so I presumed I’d of left feeling an inconvenience. I left feeling the total opposite and completely reassured. Thank you for seeing and helping my daughter today. The reception staff on the phone are also very pleasant, helpful and welcoming. Great all round experience from start to finish today.

Our family has been patients of various members of the team at the Forbury Clinic for over 10 years. Something has changed in the past year, rather than feeling like you are listened to and being cared for it now feels much more like a business akin so a sausage factory. In and out the door as quickly as possible, barely space for questions and little to no bedside manner. It feels like profit over patients. The remainder of our appointment yesterday was in a stair well being led downstairs after being shunted from room to room. With a teenage that is appalling. They find it hard to ask questions in an environment like that.

I had serious pain when walking for a short length of time. I had a knee replace 8 weeks ago and am so pleased with the result. The journey had its ups and downs, high spots and low spots but overall very worth it. If you can, get your legs as strong as possible beforehand. Do the exercises they give you religiously. My walking is pain free but it will be another month or so before I can get back on the hills. As an active 72 year old that is important to me. Going up and down stairs still needs work and my energy levels are slowly recovering. The Yorkshire Clinic was excellent and staff very professional.

Can’t fault the surgery team or the staff on the children's ward. The care and treatment my son received has been amazing! The only thing that was far from great was the long waiting time for an MRI scan after the injury happened and the 3 month wait for surgery after the results. I feel Zak suffered a lot hiring this time and I don’t think patients especially minors should wait that long for important surgery. I do realise that sadly this is a poor governmental factor within the Uk though and not fault of the NHS… 😢

Although the prospect of eye surgery was daunting I could not have received better care throughout the whole process. Communication was clear and kind, surgery was efficient and recovery uneventful. I am extremely happy with the outcome of surgery- it is better than I dared hope for. My only regret is not having it done sooner. I would totally recommend Mr Woodruff to anyone who is contemplating correction of a ptosis/ blepharoplasty.

On the previous visit you are asked certain points the main one was can you lay flat on this type of bed for a period of ten to fifteen minutes keeping your head still I did it but with my back problem it was a worry quite painful. On the day I was pleasantly surprised as the bed had a soft top and in three sections that could be adjusted. No pain experienced.

I was very happy, as I always am, with the service at Centennial Medical Centre. The pharmacy on-site is excellent and very handy.
