The admissions brochure fails to state that family members are not allowed to stay with patients during the pre-operative wait. This is a significant omission, as it creates avoidable anxiety for patients who are already nervous about their procedure and are only informed of this restriction upon arrival. The pre-op nurses showed poor bedside manner when I asked about this. Instead of offering reassurance, they quoted “hospital policy” and then gave reasons that felt dismissive and inaccurate — for example, claiming that “too many people come in and out of rooms,” when in reality only one nurse completed paperwork, followed later by the surgeon and anaesthetist. I was also told I would be going to theatre “shortly,” even though I knew (correctly) that I would be waiting another 1.5 hours. My family member could easily have stayed with me during that entire period, as is standard in the Ulster Independent Clinic and in my previous NHS experiences. The lack of engagement from the pre-op nurse beyond basic paperwork questions made the situation feel even more uncomfortable. The pods themselves felt more like small, bare cells than a calming space prior to surgery — no TV, no artwork, just two chairs and a table. It was far from a soothing environment. In contrast, the theatre staff and post-op nurses were outstanding. They were friendly, proactive, and reassuring, and they made up for the negative pre-operative experience. One final issue: the staff arranging my discharge medication did not check my notes and prescribed a medication I am unable to take. Because the pharmacy had already closed, the only solution was to remove it from the prescription entirely.

Dr Krupa carried out my breast augmentation surgery. Lets just say if there was an option for 10 stars this is what I would have given. From the initial consultation when I was thinking of surgery to post surgery I can't recommend Dr Krupa & his team enough. Everyone welcomed me with such care, no question was too much, the reassurance was impeccable. Dr Krupa explains everything in detail & there is room for questions either in person, over the phone or via email. The surgery itself went very well, the after care at the Spire Hospital was excellent & the care staff were very people focused, allowed me to rest and kept my spirits up. Its a huge decision to make, and one that you need to gain the trust of your consultant as there was a discussion around the size of implants and they may not be the ones we chose. 110% trusted Dr Krupa with his decision making during surgery. He knew the outcome I wanted to achieve and my why. I have several appointments leading up to my surgery, I never felt rushed in any decision making, all the nurses and didn't care team were always available to answer any concerns. The post care i followed down to a T which was difficult at times as I was eager to return to strength training. However Dr Krupa ensured I maintained full recovery before I was given then green light and I cant thank him enough as I am now 13 weeks post surgery and recovery has gone very well With no issues, I have this week returned to the gym and slowly building up my strength. I am more than happy with the end result and have zero regrets, they suit my body frame and Dr Krupa has achieved the natural look i wanted. Thank you very much.

Staff are amazing and caring, the problem is not enough staff, only 2 at a time on dementia unit. When they are assisting someone in their room there are no staff to keep an eye on residents in rest of unit. These residents have little understanding of their behaviour or instructions, have poor mobilty and coordination. Myself, as a visitor has had to intervene on several occasions to prevent falls or fighting, and I witnessed other visitors doing the same. This is not my job. I can't fault what the staff do, they go above and beyond and do their best, the issue is understaffing. I'm not making these comments to cause trouble but because I have concerns about safeguarding and feel that all is needed is more appropriate staffing levels. There should also be a male carer on at all times for male residents, and always the same group of staff for familiarity.

I walked into Abbington House at rock bottom physically and mentally. The staff were very friendly, understanding, caring and reassuring. Making me feel calm and at ease. I have made significant progress and I am leaving a different person with new tools and knowledge to help me succeed on the journey. The Abbington House clients made me feel welcome and included, extremely friendly and I am grateful to have made many friends in the 5 weeks I have been here. My incredible therapist listened, un-judgmental and emphatic to me, who's care was brilliant and I will not forget the unreplaceable advice given to me. Dr Eleni delivered my baby by C-section in July 2025 at the Portland Hospital. I am so grateful and fortunate to have had Dr Eleni as my doctor during my pregnancy and for the delivery of my baby. I felt completely safe and confident in her care during the whole process. She is confident, knowledgable, kind and highly skilled. She put me at ease as soon as I met her. The surgery itself went very well. I even felt well enough to leave the hospital the day after, and I think this is due to Dr Eleni's skill. The scar itself is small and tidy and I have received many comments from midwives and nurses on how tidy the scar is. If I was to have another baby, I absolutely would want Dr Eleni to be my doctor again.

I had a number of appointments to see Mr Warr at the Nuffield, and it was always administered well and on time. On the day of the surgery there was initially some confusion on which hospital room I was assigned to but that was cleared up fairly quickly - it was 7am so perhaps a beginning of shift handover issue. The nurses were caring, professional, attentive and very friendly before and after the operation. The anaesthetist visited and was very clear explaining the process, friendly and reassuring. A very good experience. I also appreciated that my parents could be with me before the operation as I'm quite young and not used to being in hospital. Overall a very good experience. Thank you.

In general, their service is excellent and easy to navigate. The only minor inconvenience is a small systems organisation issue. Data collection forms are sent as soon as follow-up appointments are scheduled (6 months in advance), and so the information would be out of date if completed at this stage. A workaround is to email for a new form link shortly before the appointment date, and to their credit they are always happy to comply with this.

Afterwards, Saara assisted me into my parka, led me to the patient toilet, waited until I emerged, conducted me back to reception to a suitable chair where I could await my taxi, prior to handing over to a receptionist.

He took my issue very seriously and prescribed medication, which we discussed briefly during my consult (and which I strongly preferred as opposed to conservative treatment). I walked up 12 floors as there were no lifts available.Only 14% capacity.I got to the Thames view suite via the cardiac lift because a cardiac unit staff member took pity on me and put me into lift 14 to complete my Access Path to the private patients unit. What on earth is going on and why does the lift maintenance contract not have a 50% minimum functionality profile as a term for service?

Mr Wong was brilliant. On my initial consultation he reviewed my scan reports and provided me with a number of possible options to move forward. I eventually opted for surgery and Mr Wong operated on me. I am 4 weeks post surgery and feel like a new person. I know that surgery is always a big and sometimes not particularly easy decision but I couldn’t recommend Mr Wong highly enough.
