The Portland Hospital truly felt like a five-star hotel combined with exceptional medical care. From the moment we arrived, everything was calm, organised, and incredibly well run, making what can be an overwhelming experience feel reassuring and even enjoyable. The facilities are outstanding, the rooms are beautiful, and the level of comfort is unmatched — but what really makes The Portland special is the people. The care we received from the midwifery team was absolutely exceptional. In particular, midwives/nurses Lucy and Anna were truly wonderful. They were kind, attentive, reassuring, and incredibly supportive, always taking the time to check in, explain everything, and make us feel completely cared for. Their warmth and professionalism made such a difference to our experience and helped us feel confident and supported every step of the way. The aftercare was equally impressive, with genuine attention to both mother and baby. Every member of staff went above and beyond, and nothing ever felt rushed. We are so grateful for the outstanding care we received and would highly recommend The Portland Hospital to anyone looking for exceptional maternity care in a calm, luxurious, and supportive environment.

Everything from pre op to post op was and has been fantastic and put me at total ease. Mr Jayanthi is the most polite, kind and attentive surgeon I have ever met. He takes time to explain everything throughly, taking you through each step and gives you time to process and ask questions, I never once felt rushed or under pressure. I had the Linx ring inserted for my acid reflux in September 2025 and I can honestly say that Mr Jayanthi has given me my life back. I would highly recommend Mr Jayanthi to anyone and he would definitely be my surgeon of choice should it be necessary in the future.

Lucy made me feel at ease from the first minute of our video call. I was able to unmask myself and let her see me how I really am, very different from a previous ADHD and autism assessment with a different provider. She was extremely thorough and asked questions in a way that she was able to tease out answers when I was stuck but did not ask leading questions. She was very empathetic and kind even though she obviously had to follow a script and procedure.

I had a consultation with Dr Barton today and for the first time in about 10 years I actually felt like somebody listened to me. We all know that women's health, particularly those in middle age, is not a priority for the NHS. Dr Barton has made it a priority and thank goodness for that. She is calm, professional and explains things clearly. I'm looking forward to beginning this journey with her.

Ms El Kafsi was very helpful- checking my symptoms and explaining very clear details of surgery options and ordering an MRI scan for further details of the position of my gallstones. Because of this the scan also showed problems with my pancreas. She sought a pancreas specialist opinion which has, saved my life as I am now having pancreatic surgery. Very well done.

The hospital was very clean, very friendly and very welcoming. I was shown to my room, given a menu for dinner that night as I was staying over. The staff were all very polite and attentive, even going above and beyond to get me a chocolate milkshake when the kitchen had shut. Very nice people and a very good stay after my first time going under anaesthetic

Initial appointment was really good and Dr Cheung was really patient and thorough but it was her calmness that made all the difference. In the end I had to have a Hysteroscopic surgery and it went well and it didn’t take long for me to heal. The only thing is I was unaware my follow up appointment today had been charged as I was meant to have an follow up appointment on the 12 jan and was only text a few days before this was not a problem this time as I was not at work but could be a problem if I was at work and might be for someone else but overall 5 star

Super efficient and super helpful staff. Perhaps the only thing I could say is that there may be too many check-in receptions and at busy times slightly understaffed on certain desks. But overall, the team were super friendly and helpful and I never felt I had to wait too long.
