I was recently and specifically referred by my optician to Saphire Eye Care and Prof. Luff to have treatment on my cataracts. Over recent years I have suffered from oedema in my retina which was now relatively stable and I wanted to receive the highest level of treatment so as to avoid any impact on my retina and a return to the sight problems that I had previously. I understood that there was potential for this to occur with normal cataract surgery. From the time my first appointment was made by Jennie, the medical secretary, through to the cataract procedures I was supported and cared for at every stage. Prof. Luff was very approachable, explained everything, and dvised me on the type of lens suitable for my eyes. The cataract procedure only took about 15 to 20 minutes, was totally painless and as it turned out was nothing to be worried about at all. My resulting eyesight is extremely good and any potential impact on my retina was completely avoided. I can only give Saphire Eye Care and Prof. Luff the highest praise and recommendation. If anyone is concerned about having treatment on.their eyes, eyesight is so important that I would say don't leave it too late and Prof. Luff and Saphire Eye Care is the first port of call that I would recommend.

As I am not a well person and a wheelchair user, the wait was longer due to my health and help to get out. The staff were very understanding around this. I found though, beyond reception the phone system was not the easiest due to the very short length of time given to leave your message, which for people who are disabled, so not the fastest just basic messages of name, number, DOB plus short message, it frequently cut off before you had finished. Beyond that, it was a pleasant experience as it was the least painful steroid injection I'd had to date and I did let the consultant know that. The staff were helpful and accommodating as a wheelchair user plus self employed PA we know we take up space, so not the easiest inside a small room. Thankfully I can still transfer which helps so I can fold the wheelchair up once on to the couch. The staff were very helpful around my safety doing so which is always really appreciated. Please thank them for me.

I was so fortunate to have had Dr Taylor’s care for my open abdominal surgery. Dr Taylor is not only highly skilled surgeon, but also a truly kind dedicated, knowledgeable consultant. He was so patient with me, always took as much time as I needed to listen to me and talk to me at every step of my procedure. I was very relaxed before the surgery as I knew I was in safe hands . He was there when I woke up from the surgery to inform me all went well and he visited to check on me almost every day during my stay at the hospital. My recovery has been on track so far without any complications. Dr Taylor is very organised and I was able to message him directly and always received quick responses from him which is very reassuring. Even he has updated about my surgery and the outcome of it to my GP directly on the same day. I was so impressed with that. I cannot recommend Dr Taylor highly enough. My experience at the McIndoe centre was incredible. Throughout my surgery and stay the entire team were incredibly kind and caring. I was given plenty of reassurance prior to my surgery, everyone involved during my surgery was incredibly professional and the aftercare following my surgery was incredible. All of my nurses were incredibly kind and helpful and made the process so much easier. I had a great private room and bathroom, and the food was also great! Cannot recommend the McIndoe centre enough, they will be my first choice should I have any more procedures in future

I had a google meets with Frankie. She was very empathetic, as understandably the conversation was a very emotional and reflective experience for me. That said, the patience and tone in which Frankie approached the questions directed at me was always in a professional and kind tone. Time was allowed for breaks and the whole process was clear as to where and what was required. Frankie was lovely and put me at ease.

He arranged, at very short notice, an angiogram appointment which led to a swift diagnosis of further coronary artery disease and an operation for coronary artery bypass surgery. I could not fault the care and service provided and am truly grateful for Dr Jagathesan's life saving intervention.
