I had cataract surgery on both eyes on 4th December 2025 and l was discharged today, 12th January 2026. I'm so pleased to say l don't need to wear glasses or contact lenses any more. From start to finish, my experience at Freedom Vision Chelmsford was exceptionally good - and my end result is superb vision. - more than l could ever have hoped for. Colours are radiant and bright, and probably the biggest bonus for me is feeling so much more confident driving at night. After undergoing rigorous tests and scans , the actual procedure is very quick and painless. All the staff, without question were delightfully kind people and I'd like to thank them all individually, if only l knew their names. But in particular, l'd like to thank Nicola who guided me patiently and expertly throughout the whole procedure, and a massive thank you to Mr Hove , my surgeon, for being such a genius. If you are contemplating cataract surgery, l urge you to go for it - don't be scared - you won't regret it!

This was a follow-up appointment. It should have been after 2 weeks but because the practitioner works very part-time this wasn’t possible. She then said I should have been in sooner! Treatment not as successful as with past practitioners before we moved to this area (I had brought records to first appointment but she had suggested a different approach). Further treatment offered on the day of the follow-up but I felt the practitioner was getting very defensive and I was losing confidence, so I declined. When I was waiting to go in someone else was trying to book a follow-up appointment. When she couldn’t get one desk staff said it probably didn’t matter as most people don’t need it! This clinic suits me location wise but unfortunately this wasn’t a great experience so I won’t go back.

Hospital was lovely, clean and spotless and the day was well organised. Superb care from Dr Spalding, Nick Gilfillan, Neil (recovery nurse) and Emily (nurse from HCA) in particular. Facilities were great and check-in / admin was v smooth. From check in to check out I saw three different teams; nurses were very friendly and helpful although there was some confusion on instructions for the next few weeks (what to do what not to do). Physio Jess was excellent and kindly waited to see me after the end of her shift so I'd had something to eat (food had been delayed as there was some confusion as to whether I'd been out of of surgery or not). On the whole, brilliantly looked after.

Mr Minas carried out a full hysterectomy for me. The operation went very well; the only pain I experienced was immediately after waking in recovery, and this was promptly managed with additional pain relief. I had no further pain and felt fantastic throughout my recovery, which is a testament to the excellent procedure carried out by Mr Minas. He was always professional in his approach, and both he and his team were extremely easy to contact and always very quick to respond. I had an excellent experience with Dr. Himanshu Wadhawan. As a gastroenterology specialist, his experience is evident from the first consultation. He was incredibly thorough in walking me through the entire treatment process, which put my mind at ease. I underwent an endoscopy arranged by his team; the entire procedure was handled with the utmost professionalism. Most importantly, the results after following his treatment plan have been excellent. I can’t recommend Dr. Wadhawan enough for anyone seeking expert gastroenterologist care.

It was a private appoint & I paid for the ILR device. That was fine but I have been disappointed with the follow up since which seems to provide no reassurance that the ILR results are being looked at / reviewed so it is a case of assuming "no news is good news". In my view this is poor, if not unsatisfactory and it seems to me an initial 3 month review email followed by half yearly emails would be welcomed by patients. Also issue of contact phone numbers would be helpful e.g. technical. episode queries
