It would be helpful to add the following to your briefing: after surgery - we will offer to help you to a taxi or to the taxi rank, if you do not have a person to accompany you (I went downstairs on my own and had to find a taxi - as the rank was not manned) Worth considering clear plastic, wrap around glasses for walking/cycling in windy areas/or where likely to be grit in the air Clear some space in your fridge for the eye drops which will need to be refrigerated If you are travelling invest in a portable coo lbag, with icepack to keep eye drops at the required temperature tell people ahead of time no eye make up on the day or for a month post op / swimming hair washing will be tricky for a few days, so consider dry shampoo explain to people what is normal in terms of recovery day by day over the subsequent days post surgery explain to people what to do, if despite taking the drops, there is a feeling of grit in eyes explain to people - if it is normal or not to see halos or to see with a soft focus - perhaps have images, which are shown ahead of time provide youtube video with how to insert drops - have practise drop session on a pre visit, with non irritant drops, to enable the technique to be mastered The person who provided the medicines did not go through the 'knuckle technique' which is on the document provided, trying to master this when your eye sight is recovering is not straightforward Suggest that patients have ibrufen 200 and or paracetemol at the ready suggest setting alarm on phone at regular intervals for drop taking

As I am not a well person and a wheelchair user, the wait was longer due to my health and help to get out. The staff were very understanding around this. I found though, beyond reception the phone system was not the easiest due to the very short length of time given to leave your message, which for people who are disabled, so not the fastest just basic messages of name, number, DOB plus short message, it frequently cut off before you had finished. Beyond that, it was a pleasant experience as it was the least painful steroid injection I'd had to date and I did let the consultant know that. The staff were helpful and accommodating as a wheelchair user plus self employed PA we know we take up space, so not the easiest inside a small room. Thankfully I can still transfer which helps so I can fold the wheelchair up once on to the couch. The staff were very helpful around my safety doing so which is always really appreciated. Please thank them for me.

Mr Ellis was fantastic from minute one. He immediately put me at ease, never made me feel rushed, answered all of questions, from the intelligent ones through to the absurd and ridiculous ones, explained everything in a way I understood, was clear in identifying the options I had, and at all times made me feel empowered to make decisions with his support and guidance. He wanted to know and understand me, and managed to build a picture very quickly. His aftercare was equally brilliant; knowing I was concerned he made time on a busy Friday to call me with my results to put my mind at ease, we discussed the future and options, and everything was done in a clam, intelligent and supportive way. His team reflect their leader, and are kind, supportive, warm and friendly. I couldn't have felt more supported throughout, and cannot thank him - or recommend him - more.

I was thoroughly delighted by the experience. I was booked in very swiftly and efficiently by Ms Lisa Beckles, Prof Redwood's secretary, who went out of her way to get me a quick response to my initial email requesting a consultation, arranged my stress echo and squeezed in an appointment for me on the same. The stress echo team conducted a thorough test of my cardiovascular fitness and went out of their way to provide an urgent report so that I could discuss the results with Prof Redwood only an hour after the event. My thanks to Marlene and Chiara (apologies for spelling) and to another cardiologist whose name I have unfortunately forgotten. Professor Redwood was as ever charming and efficient and told me some very good news!

I was getting ready to leave home in Broadstairs to travel to Canterbury. My Son had rearranged his work to drive me. I received a phone call from the consultant I was going to see. He was under the impression that it was a telephone consultation. As it happened as far as the consultant was concerned it was not necessary for me to travel to Canterbury. He was able to tell me results of MRI and what he felt was the plan of action. There were some crossed wires and it was lucky that I had not started out earlier to use public transport. . Also lucky that the consultant had not waited till.the appointment time on the letter to ring me as i would have been at his clinic.. I was not concerned that I had not got to make the journey.

Very happy with the set up all round. Consultant amazingly helpful in comparison. He was extremely knowledgeable and very concerned . I liked the fact that he actually listened when I explained my problem. ( Its tedious even for me to hear so I can understand the need to switch off at times)...!...but obviously extremely painful ! The actual appointment with the consultant was about 30 minutes. He examined me and advised medication for immediately and perhaps in the future. Excellent man ,so nice . I felt at ease to speak about my pain . The receptionist was so kind and the nurses are angels. I would recommend highly. Thank you Spencer Wing. Mrs B J.P.

I can’t thank Mr Radley and the team at Harborne Hospital enough. It was my first experience of needing surgery. Mr Radley took the time to explain everything thoroughly, answered all my questions and gave me the confidence to proceed. I was in good hands with Mr Radley and I certainly recommend him to family and friends. All of the staff at Harborne Hospital including reception, nurses and catering services were marvellous and so welcoming. No one wants to be in hospital but if the needs be I would recommend Mr Radley and Harborne Hospital every time.

The surgery is the 2nd cataract operation I have had in 3 months. It is painless and the outcome is unimaginable. Mr Shafiq is a highly skilled surgeon, he has literally turned my vision back to my late 20's before I was required to ear glasses. The facility is far superior to your average NHS hospital. The staff are dedicated, friendly and professional. They are patient and nothing is too much trouble if you have questions or need reassurance. This has been an amazing experience

Mr Patel done in 2 1/2 months what another Hospital couldn’t do in five years. He carried out a bunion revision operation after it was done incorrectly by another Hospital (by what they say was a good surgeon). I wasn’t able to wear shoes for nearly 5 years and I can actually put a shoe on without my foot hurting me for the first time in five years, so yes he’s a very good surgeon and I would recommend him to everybody, so much so I’m getting my other foot done by him very soon.

She asked money for online consultation. I sent her the 100£ and sent her my questions and she never answered. Just kept my money and ignored my questions if I reminded her our agreement. Few times she answered "I'll answer the email tomorrow" but then of course she didn't do that. And one time she asked me if I could send her another 100£ and a cbct scan, only then she can say if she has experience and knows about how to cure severe oral dysbiosis.

My daughter had a general anaesthetic with Dr. Oluseye Balogun, and everything went very smoothly. He is extremely experienced with children and showed great patience throughout the entire process. He took the time to explain everything clearly and helped put both my daughter and us at ease. We felt confident and well cared for from start to finish. I would highly recommend him to any parent whose child requires anaesthetic care.

I really appreciate how the clinic was quick and efficient their responses and sorting appointments. I would really recommend as the doctor can be highly trusted; I found appointments were comfortable and adds some humour which can help put you at ease. They take time and listen to any concerns, thoroughly explain everything. I was reassured with any questions I had and feel welcome to contact them for further support.

I have seen Dr Wright on several occasions in the past and I find his approach with me as a patient very agreeable. He is a very good listener and willing to explain in detail and very openly test results (Zio patch), causes of symptoms and options available to either medically manage or use evasive methods to investigate or cure a problem. He also respects the patient's decision on the approach of resolving a problem.

I was introduced to Nick Clive by my ENT surgeon following a bit of a battle with a damaged ear (rugby!). Getting over the perceived stigma of wearing a hearing aid in my early 60's the use of high quality aids was a game changer. Nick has looked after me ever since (I need regular checks and "hoovering"). I have introduced him to many friends who have, likewise, realised that aids make a huge difference.
