I went to see Mr Barua for a laser eye surgery. I had been to see two other more well-known providers for consultations but this was the only consultation where I actually got to meet my surgeon and ask him questions directly. At my consultation Mr Barua was very thorough and knowledgeable and carefully explained all my options, as well as the pros and cons of each. I needed more time to decide whether to go ahead with surgery and Mr Barua was happy to let me take the time I needed, there was no hard sell or push to book in and he also offered me another consultation if I felt I needed it. His secretary Kate was also very helpful when I did have further questions and was happy to talk over various aspects of the procedure when I called back. I had my surgery done about 6 weeks later and I felt very safe in Mr Barua's hands and his team were great. The follow ups have been easy to schedule in and again the team have been very thorough. The healing and recovery have gone well without any issues and I am very glad I opted to have Mr Barua perform my surgery.

I was referred to Mr. Rahman by a surgeon that will be reconnecting my small intestine to my large intestine. Due to the severity of my case (starting out as an emergency and ICU patient), I needed some additional support and medical intervention to help me live and also prepare for a successful surgery. This means short term TPN treatment, at home PN treatment, management of hydration, electrolytes, etc. As soon as I met Mr. Rahman, I knew I was going to be well taken care of - I had been discharged from a hospital with little to no guidance and a lot of fear and with the assistance of Mr. Rahman I made it through some of the most difficult times (and continue to do so). Mr Rahman is confident in his statements, knowledgeable in his field, and also completely transparent. I appreciated the directness, the collaboration and his willingness to listen to me, answer my questions and not rush through appointments. Since having Dr. Rahman on my medical team, my husband and I have been able to share the weight of our fears. I would highly recommend Dr. Rahman.

I had my Pre-assessment on 14/91/26 at 09.30. I arrived early because of the inadequate parking at the hospital but was pleasantly surprised to be able to park straight away so, I arrived at 09.00 for my appt. I registered with reception then the nurse, Sharon, called me. Sharon talked me through my Pre-assessment and explained in detail what would happen when I'm admitted for my op. She gave me an ECG, took MRSA swabs and I had my bloods taken. Sharon explained several forms to me and provided Octensian wash and nasal gel for me to use prior to admission and after. The whole experience was positive. Sharon was very professional with an easy, friendly manner and kindly answered my questions that she had not already covered.

I was taken into a room that was obviously not cleaned after the last patient as their clothes were still there. My postop instructions were to stay warm. I was absolutely freezing after surgery because the nurses turned the heat down to suit another patient. I was on the end bed and no one came to check on me for ages so I couldn’t get another blanket. I told the nurses at least three times that I don’t eat dairy. I then had cow’s milk and dairy butter placed in front of me which is offensive. The nurses paid a lot of attention to the person next to me, but rarely checked on me. I felt overlooked. By this point, I just wanted to go home but again they prioritised other patients so I was late to leave.

He has been very patient and explained every step of the procedure to ensure that everything was clear and thorough. I am so delighted to be seen by Dr. Bhatia and highly recommend him. I visited doctor Jadhav concerning bleeding and cysts. The doctor took time to assess, review and educate me. He patiently explained the information in simpler language i can understand and had the opportunity to ask if I had any questions or worries. This really gave me a chance to make a choice and contribute to my care. I felt involved. And thats what person centred care is all about.This is very rare. I found Mr Jadhav very professional, compassionate and his communication skills are excellent. Thank you very much for including me in my care and explaining every detail without rushing. I have only had one consultation with Professor Westcott, but the visit of professional, I did not feel rushed but I felt a bit disorientated while I was there as I did not know what to expect. There was little explaination by the person at the GF reception - I just had to fill in a form. There was no explaination about where to go ... just upstairs to the first floor and I sat down on a seat in a small recess, which turned out to be the right place. I was further disorientated when I had to take my contact lens out and could not see. However, this did not detract from the overall very good experience of seeing Prof Westcott and his Secretary.

The waiting area had few chairs and not enough for the people waiting. The people around there that gave me paperwork and told me where to wait, were polite and helpful. The appointment with the consultant was really distressing, I couldn't ask questions and didn't discussed with me the plan, just set up steps without getting me involved on her treatment plan. This experience was very negative from what I expected when you go to a professional asking for advice and reviewing if your body is working well. I had booked a vitamin infusion. The whole experience was a desaster. The nurses used several needles but were not able to “find a good Vene” as they called it. They said my venes are the problem which is ridiculous as I had been to your place to get infusions multiple times and there never was a problem. As a result, I now have three large bruises and my arms hurt. I left without getting the infusion. The ladies did not even apologize. In my view, they should get proper training both when it comes to doing injections and servicing clients. I will not return.

All the staff at the Spire Hospital were helpful & nothing was too much trouble so that I felt listened to in terms of my needs & any fears I had. I felt reassured that I was in excellent hands when it came to pain relief particularly immediately post op & was encouraged to get out of bed as soon as I was able. The food was enjoyable & there was a good variety which certainly helped my recovery & my room was light & very clean.

My experience was very good but spoiled somewhat as the receptionist could not give me a date for the biopsy after I had my consultation with the Consultant. From what I could gather he did not have any slots open ! . That was on the 8th of January and I was told that someone would be in touch. It is now the 17th of January and I would like to know a date so that I can arrange as far as possible to be free then .
