I have seen many migraine specialists and been in many migraine clinics over the years, so I feel very confident in saying that Dr Moreno is the BEST migraine specialist I have ever seen. As soon as I walked into his office he spotted the dark glasses I was holding (hospital lighting is a migraine trigger for me) and switched off the bright overhead lights. So immediately I knew that he understood the precarious nature of being a migraine sufferer! I felt in safe hands from the very start of our appointment. Dr Moreno is an excellent listener and asked lots of questions - he didn't assume he knew everything about my migraines, which in my experience is so often the case with specialists who know their field so well. He is clearly at the forefront of migraine treatments and answered my questions around current new treatments on the market. I came away with many answers and also the chance to try some different medication, which led me to hope that I may one day be able to manage this condition properly and have a better quality of life. Thank you Dr Moreno, this was the consultation I always hoped I may one day have!

Professor Omar Faiz

Professor Faiz has been exceptional throughout our daughter's care. We met him in January 2024 to explore the possibility for her stoma to be reversed (she had emergency surgery to remove her colon at another hospital the previous year aged just 20). Professor Faiz is clearly preeminent in his field, he is also patient, kind and has the most wonderful bedside manner. He is a true professional and wanted to take time to ensure our daughter had the best possible chance for success. She underwent numerous tests to assess if she was a viable candidate for either J-Pouch or IRA surgery. In August 2024 Professor Faiz performed an IRA and it couldn't have gone better, internally it's perfect and externally neat as a pin. Though her colitis is still lingering (we knew this was a risk and one she felt worth taking) Professor Faiz is still very much involved in her care, together with a gastroenterologist colleague. We truly believe the direction of her life (and ours) was positively impacted when Professor Faiz was recommended to us and we are very grateful to him, and his team for looking after us so well.

I am writing to formally complain about misleading advertising by the clinic Skin55. Their website led me to believe that laser treatments were available at the clinic, and I booked a consultation directly with the clinic, not with any specific doctor. However, upon attending the appointment, I was informed that the clinic did not have the required laser equipment and that not all doctors at Skin55 perform laser treatments. This discrepancy meant that I paid an initial consultation fee of £300, only to then be told that I would need to be referred to another doctor within the same clinic who does provide laser treatments. This second consultation was then quoted at £380. This sequence of events highlights a lack of transparency and constitutes misleading advertising, resulting in unnecessary expenses and inconvenience. I believe that this matter warrants investigation to ensure that Skin55’s practices align with advertising and consumer-protection regulations. I am prepared to provide supporting documentation upon request

After a fall abroad I had surgery to mend a broken hip. Months later, the knee that I had twisted in the fall, refused to bend despite periods of rest, physio and even a steroid injection. Following an MRI to see whether there was any structural cause of the extreme stiffness, Mr Jennings recommended a manipulation of the knee under anaesthetic to release some of the stiffness, and to inject it with local anaesthetic and steroid to control pain and enhance recovery. As forewarned, the MUA and injection was immediately followed by intensive physiotherapy. The very quick procedure was successful, and I have regained much of the mobility I had lost since the accident, massively improving my quality of life. Mr Jennings is easy to talk to and has a very confident and reassuring manner. He provided clear explanations of the problem and his plan to treat it. Mr Jennings clearly has the knowledge and experience to identify less common problems. Thank you so much.

I had a lumbar microdiscectomy at St Anthony’s and the care I received was exceptional from start to finish. The staff were incredibly kind, patient and attentive throughout my stay. In the post-operation recovery area, the Irish nurse who looked after me was especially wonderful. I’m so sorry I can’t remember her name — I was still a bit loopy after the anaesthetic — but she was unbelievably kind, gentle and reassuring at a moment when I really needed it. On the ward, Rose was also fantastic. She checked on me regularly, made sure I was comfortable, and was so warm and supportive. Her kindness made the first night after surgery much easier. Overall, the team at St Anthony’s made what could have been a very stressful experience feel calm and safe. I’m really grateful for the care I received and would highly recommend the hospital.

She put me at ease during the initial consultation, extremely interested in all my questions and explaining all items of the surgery in layman’s terms. During the operation she asked what kind of music I liked and supplied this in the background, not intrusively but loud enough to provide an excellent distraction. But what really impressed me was the way she interacted with me personally throughout the operation. I have nothing but praise for this lovely lady and would throughly recommend her.

My visit to Duchy Hospital for a hip resurfacing was a wondreful experienece and the total care and attention I recieved was first class. Every step of the way was clearly explained and the operation and two day stay on the ward meant that I was ready to go home to recuperate and my progress over the last five weeks means that I can return to a 'normal' life with no pain in my right hip. I would very highly recommend the Clayton ward. We have had two babies there and were really well looked after by kind, happy staff (doctors, midwives, assistants, catering and reception) who taught us a huge amount about how to care for a newborn. Having access to 121 support from midwives anytime day or night is just invaluable. The food was very good (for hospital food) and we genuinely looked forward to it each day - it really helped us recover as sleep deprived parents.
