The security and reception staff were absolutely wonderful - welcoming, professional, and efficient. When I went up to the 3rd-floor neurology department, there weren’t very clear directions on where to check in, but I eventually found the desk (ironically, not the easiest task for someone visiting a neurologist!). After checking in, I was seen quite promptly. The neurologist herself came out to collect me - something I didn’t realise until we were already in her office, as she hadn’t introduced herself. I think my presence uneased her and I even commented that I thought she was the porter, as that’s what I had seen with other patients being escorted in. Unfortunately, the appointment itself was disappointing. The neurologist came across as very judgmental and accusatory, suggesting that my symptoms were exaggerated or imagined, despite my clear explanations and the observations of my colleagues, doctors, specialists, and family who have witnessed my neurological decline. When she asked about my profession, she seemed skeptical that I could perform my job without issues, which was uncomfortable and disheartening. I have a follow-up appointment with a neuropsychiatrist, but honestly, I’m not looking forward to it. I can only hope they’ll be more open-minded and empathetic.

I noticed one morning an egg shaped lump in my groin area after a hard indoor climbing session and knew immediately I'd torn something and suspected a hernia. A quick Google search of local Hernia surgeons came up with one name in particular, Mr Michael Stellakis, I paid privately for a consultation and the resulting examination involving extremely thorough online tutorials of what is and what contributes to a Hernia left me with no doubt I'd made the correct decision in seeking Mr Stellakis's opinion and my options going forward. Several weeks later I underwent a Bilateral laproscoic Hernia repair. From the initial consultation through to the surgery and the aftercare, every step was dealt with, with complete and utter professionalism that I'd heard about from the Warwickshire Bowel and Hernia Centre. I walked out of the Hospital later the same day as the surgery, 3-4 weeks later I'm back climbing as good as, if not stronger than before the Injury, Simply incredible experience from start to finish. An all round excellent experience. My appointment was arranged within a week, on arrival staff were very friendly and helpful. The consultant was very thorough in going through past medical history as well as ongoing symptoms. Found out a few issues that had never been picked up by my own GP practice, reassurance given, and appropriate follow up tests / procedures have been put in place. Some of my issues have been ongoing for almost five years, others possibly much longer. All medical information was explained to me in an easy to understand way. Overall, being able to find out all this in my first consultation is extremely reassuring and helpful. Without this private appointment, I would have had a very lengthy wait, i had been advised this previously by my own GP - several years or longer to be seen by respiratory medicine on the NHS. Very glad to have private medical insurance and able to get seen so quickly.

Dr. Amber is a breath of fresh air when it comes to understanding and supporting individuals with ADHD. Her approach is knowledgeable, compassionate, and strength-based. She has a lovely manner with young people and an exceptional ability to explain things in ways that are relatable and easy to understand. Her extensive experience in managing ADHD—both medically and non-medically—is evident in the clear and simple way she communicates information. The background forms are thorough, and her ability to bring together the information, interview insights, and possible treatment options is truly enlightening. Dr. Amber’s manner is non-threatening and positive, and she consistently provides explanations at an age-appropriate level. The consultation felt therapeutic and helped my son better understand his strengths and the reasons behind some of his challenges.

The staff were lovely, so kind and understanding which has been thoroughly appreciated. However, some frustration noted around wait times. While it is appreciated that diagnostics are a lengthy process and take time, I found issues where my assessments were delayed due to Skylight not having all the information from the forms I had already completed, and after submitting my forms I was not told that all of the information had not been received until I reached out and chased my application due to the time frames I was given being overdue. To improve this experience, more communication on what has and hasn’t been received would improve the experience and shorten some people’s wait times, as my wait time was partially increased due to lack of communication over forms I had or hadn’t filled in.

No problems with the medical teatment. Not sure why I was sent an invoice for medications some days after the treatment. It would have been much easier to pay in the hospital on the day. The invoice doesn't say if you can pay by card by phone or on line. This is a basic service these days. The menu offered for kosher food was limited and most of the items marked as being available weren't. If you're going to offer this service then you need to make sure you have available what you are offering - this is the private wing and one is paying for additional levels of service - not provided here.

I was very apprehensive about getting both of my eyes done at the same time. I cant believe how easy and painless it was ,all of the staff were amazing in looking after me and putting me at ease. Having 24 hr support was amazing ,my concerns were addressed quickly . If only everything was as easy as this ,within 3 days i could see perfectly ,i never realised how much of a difference it would make . From my consultant ,nursing staff, opthamologists, domestic staff and receptionist they went above and beyond in their care. Nothing was too much bother. Dont hesitate to go ,you will be amazed .

I would not choose Spire as a private patient. The nursing staff were fabulous but the overall experience was poor. I feel that since they now take 80% nhs patients then the overall standards have dropped. After my operation I ordered an evening meal that didn’t materialise and after starving for over 24 hours was able to get a chicken sandwich eventually. The breakfast was quite simply atrocious. Cold scrambled egg, awful tea, toast inedible due to being soggy. I recently had emergency surgery at Taunton NHS hospital and they were far superior to this hospital.

I consulted Professor Reid when I was out of my mind with worry, having been diagnosed with severe osteoporosis (my spine T score was -3.3). Having followed Professor Reid’s regime of a year of Evenity followed by an infusion of Zolendronic acid (plus of course, lifestyle measures eg weight-bearing exercise, vitamin D, a calcium-and protein-rich diet) 3 years on from my first consultation my spine is now -1.9! I cannot thank Professor Reid enough for his expertise, care, responsiveness, and clarity of communication. His advice completely changed my life.

Absolutely amazing, I cannot fault the care and support I have received. I may not be able to climb mountains, but I can carry on with my walking, taking care of myself at the same time. I couldn't have wished for a better Consultant to carry out the surgery and the follow up consultation enabled me to verbally express my gratitude for what he has done.
