It would be helpful to add the following to your briefing: after surgery - we will offer to help you to a taxi or to the taxi rank, if you do not have a person to accompany you Worth considering clear plastic, wrap around glasses for walking/cycling in windy areas/or where likely to be grit in the air Clear some space in your fridge for the eye drops which will need to be refrigerated If you are travelling invest in a portable coolbag, with icepack to keep eye drops at the required temperature no eye make up on the day or for a month post op / swimming hair washing will be tricky for a few days, so consider dry shampoo explain to people what is normal in terms of recovery day by day over the subsequent days post surgery explain to people what to do, if despite taking the drops, there is a feeling of grit in eyes explain to people - if it is normal or not to see halos or to see with a soft focus - perhaps have images, which are shown ahead of time provide youtube video with how to insert drops - have practise drop session on a pre visit, with non irritant drops, to enable the technique to be mastered The person who provided the medicines did not go through the 'knuckle technique' which is on the document provided, trying to master this when your eye sight is recovering is not straightforward Suggest that patients have ibrufen 200 and or paracetemol at the ready suggest setting alarm on phone at regular intervals for drop taking suggest that surgeon creates faqs to answer frequent questions on the various options of lens, implications

I cannot recommend Ms Shikha Kapur highly enough. She has been my gynecologist throughout my first pregnancy, and her support has been invaluable. As a first-time mum, I had a lot of questions and anxieties, but Ms Kapur’s lovely bedside manner immediately put me at ease. What truly sets her apart is her accessibility; she was always available to answer my questions over email and responded quickly whenever I needed support. Having that direct line of communication was incredibly reassuring during such a significant time in my life. She is professional, kind, and clearly an expert in her field. As I am not a well person and a wheelchair user, the wait was longer due to my health and help to get out. The staff were very understanding around this. I found though, beyond reception the phone system was not the easiest due to the very short length of time given to leave your message, which for people who are disabled, so not the fastest just basic messages of name, number, DOB plus short message, it frequently cut off before you had finished. Beyond that, it was a pleasant experience as it was the least painful steroid injection I'd had to date and I did let the consultant know that. The staff were helpful and accommodating as a wheelchair user plus self employed PA we know we take up space, so not the easiest inside a small room. Thankfully I can still transfer which helps so I can fold the wheelchair up once on to the couch. The staff were very helpful around my safety doing so which is always really appreciated. Please thank them for me.

I have been seeing Dr Toth for the past year - it was a follow up from a diagnosis of an autoimmune condition I received some years ago - his diagnosis. He is very thorough, extremely professional, very personable, considerate and understanding. My first visit to him was not long after my mother had died and I was upset and he was very understanding and gave me time to talk about it. He carried out a full blood screening (among other things) which highlighted areas which required attention. The money you spend on a consultation is very well spent, the timing of the consultations means that you have time with him to talk through results and why he considers what the next steps are that should be taken. I highly recommend him.

I had a great experience for my uni knee operation from start to finish and my knee is making great progress back to where I want it to be …. the rest is now down to me and to keep doing the physiotherapy / exercises. Mr Shah has always answered all my questions in a professional, approachable and understandable manner. I did have further questions when I had mulled things over at home and these were immediately answered without hesitation . Mr Shah was recommended to me and I’m so glad he is my consultant surgeon and yes, my other knee, when the time is right which is looming, will definitely be under his knife .

I can’t recommend Mr Crinnion highly enough. From the very first consultation, he was incredibly professional, calm, and reassuring, taking the time to patiently explain everything in a clear and thoughtful way. This immediately put me at ease. The keyhole inguinal hernia repair itself went smoothly, and the level of care throughout the whole process was outstanding. My recovery has been sound and straightforward, which is a real testament to his skill and expertise. I’m extremely grateful for such excellent care and would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone.

I was “plagued” with psoriasis on my elbows and forearms for the last year or so (I am a 60 year old male). I never suffered from psoriasis before. It was getting me down and I wouldn’t wear short sleeves. I made an appointment with Dr Rosy and she examined me and gave me a prescription and hey presto my psoriasis has “gone” after 4 weeks usage of prescribed spray. As per Dr Rosy it will come back but I should use spray as required when psoriasis returns. I am absolutely 100% confident now of wearing short sleeves. I am so thankful 🙏

I had an excellent experience with Mr Vijay Wagh at St Thomas’ Hospital. He was patient, thorough, and took the time to listen carefully to a long standing issue I’ve had with a watery eye. He explained the findings clearly and talked me through the results and next steps in a reassuring and an easy to understand way. I felt well informed, not rushed, and confident in the management plan going forward. I would highly recommend him to anyone needing a careful, knowledgeable, and compassionate ophthalmologist.

I waited longer than usual for my appointment but Mr Sharma was very apologetic. He examined and more importantly listened to me about my concerns. The follow up letter arrived promptly so action could be taken. He gave me a referral for an appointment to have steroid injection which I obtained within 24 hrs. Sadly the referral letter had a couple of mistakes but these were rectified very quickly. Very impressed with the process and we are all individuals so mistakes can happen.

Facility was excellent, nice and clean as well as lovely and quiet. Instructions weee clear, and the receptionist was extremely friendly, as were the nursing staff I saw. The surgeon I spoke to was excellent, everything was explained and he was more than happy to explain things in more detail if I required, and I didn’t feel pressured to leave, as if I was taking too much of his time. My overall experience was excellent, I couldn’t have asked for anything more.
