Intake was good, staff friendly and accomodating. But after the surgery was where it went downhill. No pain relief was given and my body went into shock6 hours after surgery, the look on the nurses face when she came in and realised this was missed by my assigned nurse told me everything I needed to know, this delayed me leaving the hospital bed for 24 hours as my body had to recover and I had to be on oxygen for the night after surgery instead of standing that day. The leg sleeves used to circulate my blood were also not turned on and after telling the nurse 3 time's that they weren’t working to which she replied each time that they were and I didn’t know what I was doing with them, my wife found the PowerPoint wasn’t turned on. Physio that was assigned to me seemed to have not much experience as he wasn’t too sure on how much I should be doing post surgery. Only after a new physio came on about day 3-4 was this rectified, and she started getting me up and about properly as she said I should have been doing more over the weekend. Was also instructed to go through hospital care physio after I left which stated I don’t see a physio for 3 weeks post surgery, I questioned this and told it was normal, only to find out 2 weeks after that I should of been in the day I left hospital. Overall the after surgery care delayed my recovery and still affects me 12 months on with leg and tendon damage that I put down to my delayed care and movement. Financially this hasn’t helped with all the extra appointments I’ve had to do to try get my leg right.

Throughout the surgery process, his communication and patient involvement were incredibly reassuring. He even checked on me over the weekend before discharge and was always accessible via email or phone for any concerns. Even the receptionists are always so nice and pleasant to deal with! I've never felt so genuinely cared for by a doctor. Almost no pain and was amazed that I walk 1 day post op! Dr. Dan’s passion and compassion shine through in every interaction. Full costing was not explained to me at all and lead to unnecessary stress and anxiety to the situation. Giving at least an estimate of costs would be helpful as I had assumed the procedure was covered by Medicare or my health insurance as I came through ED, but then having over $1000 to pay was a shock. I had to take out a personal loan for the payment of the surgeon, the anaesthesiast and the hospital fee. Very confusing and under explained. I also requested for my external haemorrhoids to be removed during the procedure and the surgeon said not to bother as noone sees them. With the pain I suffered after the process I would have preffered to have them removed so the pain was worth it, especially when I had to pay for the procedure. I would have been far more satisfied if that had happened whilst in there.

Reception staff failed on many occasions to pass on messages to appropriate staff when i rang. Psychologist openly discussed my private personal sessions openly with other non medical members of staff whom aren't part of my care team. I was unable to get feedback when I requested it. My all inclusive quote didn't include follow up appointments for scans, meeting with doctor/surgeon, pathology testing, additional scanning. I requested many times to speak with practice manager to express my concerns to either be ignored or put onto a nurse or receptionist. I have felt violated, blind and alone throughout thus entire process from the moment they got my money. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

I have recently attended this practice for cataract surgery and relevant consultations. From the very first visit to my last visit I found each staff member I encountered were professional and engaging. The ladies at the reception desk are truly delightful and very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The ladies who do the scans and eye checks were helpful, kind and happy to answer any questions I asked. As for Dr Chilov - he is a very special human. Thorough in his consults, kind, caring and has a delightful sense of humour. I never felt rushed through my consultations and Dr Chilov was very particular in explaining everything to me. I was very impressed with my overall care.

One of very few doctors or specialists I've been to where I didn’t need to explain further or defend myself. He listens and he gives options. There is no judgement. I've had a lot of doctors and such tell me "it's normal" or "it's your anxiety" and other such thing, Dr Louis didn't. AND I didn't even have to argue about the fact I don't want kids! I've had so many people dismiss me, telling me I'll change my mind or tell me I'll regret it, but I have thought it through and he could see that and didn't even need me to go through all the ways in which I made my decision!

Opening up is hard when you are doing it to a complete stranger but he took his time with me allowed for tears and was very mindful of my fragile state. In that very first visit I learnt some things and tentively look forward to my next visit to get understanding and help.

All the ward staff were wonderful and respectful despite my reaction to some medications. They were kind and thoughtful and so very happy which is amazing as they work long hours and sometimes work double shifts to help another staff member who was ill. I certainly recommend the florist on Level 4 (I think) and the shop opposite selling all marvellous items especially lovely books and toys for little ones.
