About Dr Anoj Dharmawardhane
Anoj is a General and Advanced Laparoscopic Surgeon and Surgical Endoscopist. He currently practises at Colorectal Surgery in North Adelaide and visits Darlington Medical Centre and Klemzig Village Medical Practice. He also holds public hospital appointments at Lyell McEwin Hospital and Port Lincoln Hospital, and visits Whyalla Hospital regularly. His clinical work includes general surgery, advanced laparoscopic procedures, hernia repair, gallbladder surgery, treatment of anorectal disorders, reflux surgery, and he is accredited to perform endoscopy and colonoscopy.
Anoj completed his surgical training in Sri Lanka and undertook further specialist training in Upper GI and Hepatobiliary Surgery at Monash Health in Melbourne, and in Rural Surgery at the Royal Darwin Hospital. He was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2015 and appointed Consultant Surgeon at Royal Darwin Hospital. In 2017, he joined Toowoomba Hospital as Consultant Surgeon before relocating to South Australia in 2023.
He advocates for minimally access surgery and patient centered care. He takes pride in working towards the best treatment options for his patients using the wide variety of general surgical tools that he is competent in.
