A/Prof Navin Niles

A/Prof Navin Niles is an accomplished Endocrine and Head & Neck Surgeon with extensive expertise in thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal, and salivary gland surgery. After completing his MBBS at the University of New South Wales in 2002, he was awarded FRACS in 2009 by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. Today, he performs up to 400 endocrine procedures each year, ranging from hemithyroidectomy and thyroidectomy to parathyroidectomy and parotidectomy.

Even though no longer practiced, A/Prof Niles was the pioneer of robot-assisted thyroid surgery in Australia, A/Prof Niles is the country’s most experienced surgeon in scarless thyroid removal via approaches that avoid a neck incision. His leadership in this field has set the benchmark for minimally invasive and patient-centred endocrine surgery. He also specialises in minimally invasive parathyroid resection, using advanced 4D CT imaging technology to expand eligibility for minimal access surgery, giving patients more options and greater autonomy in their treatment.

Beyond his surgical practice, Associate Professor Niles is a respected international speaker, he has convened and contributed to major scientific meetings, sharing his expertise with colleagues worldwide.
