Dr Louis Angelopoulos

Dr. Louis Angelopoulos is a compassionate and highly experienced Obstetrician and Gynaecologist. His approach is down-to-earth, using clear, everyday language to ensure his patients feel respected and heard. With an extensive background in both obstetrics and gynaecology, Dr. Angelopoulos is passionate about maintaining high standards of care within healthcare organisations and educating the next generation of medical professionals to deliver woman-centred care.

Originally from South Africa, Dr. Angelopoulos graduated from the University of Stellenbosch in 1993. He completed his specialty training on the Oxford Training Programme in the UK, with advanced training in benign abdominal, vaginal, and laparoscopic surgery. Following his training, he moved to the NSW Central Coast in Australia, where he serves as a Conjoint Lecturer with the University of Newcastle and works as an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist in both the public and private sectors.

Dr. Angelopoulos specialises in a wide range of services within benign gynaecology, including hysterectomy, pelvic floor dysfunction, urinary incontinence, prolapse, menopause management, ovarian cysts, endometriosis, and fibroids. He is skilled in minimal access gynaecology surgery and offers treatments such as endometrial resection/ablation for menorrhagia, Mirena/IUCD insertion and removal, and the management of menstrual disorders. His expertise also extends to infertility care, including pre-pregnancy consulting, recurrent miscarriage investigations, and laparoscopic surgery for conditions that affect fertility, such as endometriosis and polycystic ovaries.

Dr. Angelopoulos is passionate about providing holistic, woman-centered care and educating women to actively engage in their health and well-being. In addition to his clinical work, he enjoys teaching junior colleagues and medical students, ensuring that future generations of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists provide high-quality care.
