He was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 1990 and became the first fellow in hepatobiliary surgery under the guidance of Mr Ivo Vellar. Further advanced training in Scotland, in both Dundee and Edinburgh, broadened his expertise to include laparoscopic surgery and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP).
In addition to his clinical practice, Mr Banting has held senior professional positions, including serving as Chief Examiner in General Surgery for the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. The procedure was explained in detail which helped me understand the procedure and what to expect. It eased any concerns I had.
Mr Banting is very good at what he does. Only complaint is we travelled a fair distance to see him and he did not turn up. Waited quite a while before his receptionist notified me
It was a telehealth appt. The first thing Dr Banting said was: I don’t know why I’m talking to you. No hello, now how are you, nothing. Call lasted 2 minutes, if that, and I was invoiced $260
My visit was a phone call and I was away on holidays in South Australia so it worked well for me.. I was happy with how that.
I could not have asked for better care ! Simon is so professional and caring towards his patients .
I last saw him at Sale hospital. It is so much easier and appreciate the fact that he was able to see me there. I feel very fortunate to have had him care for me.
