Dr Jimmy Eteuati

Dr Jimmy Eteuati is an experienced Surgeon. He began his work within private practice in 2014. He has also been a Consultant Colorectal Surgeon at the Lyell McEwin Hospital since 2014. He sees patients with all colorectal conditions, general surgical conditions, major bowel conditions, including endoscopy and colonoscopy.

Jimmy undertook his medical degree at the University of Tasmania, graduating in 2000. Following this, he worked in in Samoa for 3 years before returning to Launceston, Tasmania. It was here that he completed his basic surgical training at the Launceston General Hospital. Following successful completion of his basic surgical training, he completed his advanced surgical training at The Alfred Hospital, in Melbourne and gained his fellowship in General Surgery (FRACS) in February 2011.

Further adding to his skillset, he went on to complete the Colorectal Surgical Society of Australia and New Zealand (CSSANZ) training in Colorectal Surgery and he is now an Ordinary Member, with colorectal fellowship years at Royal Melbourne Hospital, The Queen Elizabeth Hospital and Flinders Medical Centre. 

Jimmy has a number of academic qualifications, including a Masters of Minimally Invasive Surgery at the University of Adelaide in 2016. He is highly experienced in robotic surgery performed over 200 cases using the Da Vinci robot and was the first to perform a robotic colorectal procedure in South Australia.
