Dr Owen Morris

Dr Owen Morris is an accomplished Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon, General Surgeon, and Endoscopist who provides care at both Calvary Mater and Lingard Private Hospitals. He has a focus on breast cancer, benign breast disease, breast reconstruction, general surgery, and endoscopy. Through these specialities, he is dedicated to delivering comprehensive and compassionate care. He also specialises in advanced breast surgery techniques, including immediate one-stage reconstruction, pre-pectoral approaches, and risk-reducing surgery for patients with breast cancer gene mutations. He is also skilled in innovative methods like Magseed localisation and fluorescence imaging for sentinel node biopsy and blood flow assessment in reconstruction.

After completing his medical degree at St George’s Hospital in London, Dr Morris pursued specialist training in Breast Reconstruction at The Nightingale Centre in Manchester, a leading European hub for complex reconstructions. He gained experience in oncoplastic methods, implant and flap-based reconstructions, and early cancer treatments.

Dr Morris is a dedicated educator, as he is a Conjoint Educational Fellow at the University of Newcastle, sharing his knowledge with the next generation of medical professionals. With numerous published research articles and prestigious accolades, including the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons’ John Ham Medal, he remains committed to advancing surgical care and improving patient outcomes. Dr Morris is accredited by the Gastroenterological Society of Australia to perform gastroscopies and colonoscopies.
