As an autistic person I have found it incredibly difficult to find a psychologist who truly understands me and creates a space where I feel safe enough to open up. Speaking, explaining my thoughts, and trusting professionals has been a major challenge for me. Tane Thomas has been the best psychologist I have worked with. He is patient, calm, and genuinely listens without judgement or pressure. He doesn't rush me, doesn't force me to talk before I am ready, and respects how hard communication can be for someone like me. That alone makes a huge difference. Tane has a way of making sessions feel safe and supportive, even with discussing very difficult things. I never feel dismissed or misunderstood which has been a common experience for me in the past. He explains things clearly, meets me where I am at, and adapts his approach rather than expecting me to fit a rigid model. If you have struggled to find a psychologist who truly "gets it" I highly recommend Tane Thomas. He pretty much knew instantly when he saw the way I walked what was wrong with me and sent me off for the correct Scans. The way he made me feel heard and looked after I cannot explain. Once my MRIs were done, he organised my surgery and has kept in contact ever since to check on me and my recovery. For someone who has very little faith in the healthcare system, I can definitely say that after seeing Dr Sheard my faith has been restored. Dr Kanade and her receptionist was absolutely fantastic. The lady at reception was wonderfully polite, helful and very friendly. It is amazing to walk into consultation rooms and to feel like you matter, that you are seen as person and not just as a face, surname or number. Thank you so much. Dr Kanade was amazing. She listened, understood and for the first time I am hopeful that I will be able to get "me" back again. So few dr's really listen and understand the battles that menopausal women fight everyday. Staff, brilliant. Cleanliness, spotless. Professionals, fabulous Food, TERRIBLE!. Dry, stodgy bread and sandwich had no filling. Basically mayo and rocket on white. After fasting 12 hrs, I had to force myself to eat. Not conducive to patient recovery or morale. Worse than a child's school lunchbox.
