Dr. Siva Gounder

Mr. Siva Gounder is an experienced weight loss surgeon and the head of bariatric surgeons at Perth Weight Loss and Surgery, where he leads a dedicated team in assisting patients achieve their weight loss and long-term health objectives. Additionally, he provides consultations at Cockburn Integrated Health and performs surgeries at Hollywood Private Hospital.

His career began in 1999 when he obtained his medical degree from the Manipal Academy of Higher Education in Manipal, India. Over the years, he has earned numerous accolades, including membership from The Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh in 2005 and the completion of his Postgraduate Specialist Surgery Training at the University of Malaya in 2007.

Following his training in Malaysia, Mr. Gounder relocated to Perth, Western Australia, where he underwent advanced surgical training in various prominent hospitals under the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons program. In 2015, he was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, solidifying his expertise in the field.

In 2016, Mr. Gounder furthered his specialisation by completing a Bariatric Surgery Fellowship at North Shore Hospital, Auckland. This intensive training, accredited by the Obesity Surgery Society of Australia and New Zealand, equipped him with advanced skills in procedures such as Laparoscopic Duodenal Switch, positioning him as a leading expert in surgical weight loss interventions.
