Dr Marwan Idrees

Dr Marwan Idrees is a specialist upper gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary (liver, gallbladder and pancreas), transplant and general surgeon with advanced fellowship training in both liver and kidney transplantation and complex hepatopancreatobiliary surgery. His practice combines subspecialist expertise with a comprehensive general surgical skillset.

He is a Consultant Surgeon in the public system at Royal Perth Hospital, Fiona Stanley Hospital and Midland Public Hospital, where his work includes hepatopancreatobiliary surgery, renal transplantation and organ retrieval. In private practice, he operates at Murdoch, Mount and Hollywood Private Hospitals, providing timely access to specialist surgical care.

Dr Idrees trained across Australia and the United Kingdom, completing accredited fellowships with the Australian and Aotearoa New Zealand Hepatic, Pancreatic and Biliary Association (AANZHPBA) and the Transplantation Society of Australia and New Zealand (TSANZ). He also undertook advanced transplant training at St James’s University Hospital in Leeds, an internationally recognised centre for liver surgery and transplantation.

His clinical practice focuses on the management of gallbladder disease, liver and pancreatic lesions, hernias and reflux disorders. He has a particular interest in minimally invasive and robotic surgery, aiming to deliver precise surgery with reduced postoperative pain, shorter hospital stays and faster recovery.
