About Dr. Blake Fidock
Dr. Blake Fidock is a Brisbane-based Orthopaedic Surgeon with a subspecialty focus on Robotic Hip and Knee Joint Replacement and Revision Hip and Knee Joint Replacement. His other areas of interest include General Orthopaedics, Orthopaedic Trauma, and Foot and Ankle surgery.
Dr. Fidock completed his medical degree at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in 2012, graduating with First Class Honors. He spent his early years as a junior doctor working in hospitals across Australia, gaining a broad exposure to various specialties. He furthered his education with a Masters of Traumatology specialising in Orthopaedics, which he completed with Distinction at the University of Newcastle in 2018.
His orthopaedic training took place in South Australia and the Northern Territory, and he continues to offer orthopaedic outreach services at Alice Springs Hospital. In 2024, Dr. Fidock was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) and the Australian Orthopaedic Association (FAOrthA). He also undertook a postgraduate fellowship in Robotic Hip and Knee Arthroplasty at St Vincent’s Private Hospital Northside and The Prince Charles Hospital in Brisbane.
Outside of his clinical work, Dr. Fidock enjoys teaching junior colleagues and registrars and has held Clinical Associate Lecturer positions at the University of New South Wales, the University of Newcastle, and most recently the University of Adelaide. In July 2024, he appeared on the Aussie Med Ed Podcast, where he discussed the orthopaedic training pathway in Australia.

In December 2025, I underwent a right knee replacement. Initially, the first day was quite challenging due to significant pain; however, the nursing staff were attentive to my concerns and ensured I received appropriate pain relief and icing as required. The staff were consistently friendly and compassionate, and they kept me well informed about measures that would help ease my discomfort. My surgeon, Blake Fidock, visited daily to monitor my progress, ensure everything was proceeding as expected, and to answer any questions I had. His ongoing support and reassurance were greatly appreciated.
Dr Fidock replaced my Arthritic right hip, both his care and the Brisbane Private hospital's care was excellent. The addition of the during care by Honeysuckle (organizing that in hospital physio equipment and accounts/personal issues were looked after), followup physio (helped considerably) for my recovery all provided by my heath insurance provider: NIB. I'm still in the process of recovery and after recently passing the 3 months mark I am looking at increasing my exercise to achieve full usage again. I have already recommended both Dr Fidock and NIB's service in this regard.
Dr Fidock and his team have completed 2 hip replacement for me on both sides. One was done in September 2025, and the other in January 2026. Thank you for your excellent care and skill., I am truly grateful to be recovering well and pain free, thanks to you .
TKR by Dr Fidock who went above and beyond to do this prior to the Xmas break so I could have more leave from work. His bedside manner and politeness was excellent. Couldn’t fault the whole procedure or medical staff
Blake and his side kick (The robot) work well together every part of the procedure was taken very seriously by Blake from pre operation to follow up after operation.
Initial appointment, procedure and post procedure appointments excellent
I have found my recovery and visits with Dr Fidock have been excellent - have not experienced any issues his care his been top notch - would hesitate and have recommended him to anyone in the future. Best service I could have expected and importantly received. Thank you
