About Dr Danny Awwad
Dr Danny Awwad is an Australian-trained Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in primary and revision hip and knee replacements, sports injuries and trauma. He has particular expertise in anterior (minimally invasive) hip replacement, as well as robotic-assisted hip and knee surgery, and is experienced in managing complex revision cases.
Dr Awwad completed advanced Fellowship training with internationally recognised surgeons in Australia, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. His training includes a prestigious Fellowship in robotic hip and knee replacement at the Golden Jubilee National Hospital in Glasgow, and a Fellowship in revision hip and knee arthroplasty at the world-renowned Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Oxford.
Dr Awwad also serves as an Orthopaedic Trauma Consultant at Flinders Medical Centre, managing high-acuity trauma and complex injuries.
Outside of work, Dr Awwad is an enthusiastic sportsperson. He coaches and plays in a social touch football team, and has been an active member of the Adelaide University Rugby Union Football Club over several years.

I had a bad physical accident which resulted in a broken left ankle (3 bones) that required fixations and Dr Danny was extremely helpful, he not only put me at ease with the process but kept me well informed prior to, during and Post Surgery. He visited me in hospital very regularly and made me feel at ease with what I was going though.
Staff at the reception desk were courteous, helpful and cheerful. Dr Awwad showed great empathy, no question was considered a waste of time, and every question was answered which definitely helped me with peace of mind. That was very much appreciated. Thank you
My experience of receiving a metal plate pinned to the left wrist radial was excellent. Every aspect was explained and in such a positive and friendly, understanding manner that I felt very confident I was receiving the best care and orthopedic skill available.
I believe l was very fortunate to have Danny Awwad as my doctor for wrist surgery in September 2025. He explained the procedure and risks in a way that was easy to understand and he came across to me as warm and compassionate. Since the surgery l have felt very grateful because apart from some numbness in the tips of 2 fingers and intermittent aching at the site of the surgery, l have full function of my wrist.
