2 & 1/2 weeks ago I was someone who had lost 10 kg of weight without trying to. But otherwise no obvious symptoms and I'd say that I felt "90% OK". GP ordered an ultrasound of the abdomen, which very quickly (the same day) escalated to a CT scan which showed I had Lymphoma. My GP got in touch with Professor Dickinson the next day and within a couple of days he had called me to discuss - on Easter Saturday! He arranged for me to be admitted to Cabrini on Easter Monday for a couple of days of tests, scans & biopsies. He visited me on "Easter Tuesday" where he went through the basics of what my situation was, what I could expect, probable treatment and so on. So 1 week after I saw the GP with no illness that I was aware of, I was receiving detailed information. I am a "catastrophizer", and was fearing the worst during that week. But to have Professor Dickinson explain what I had and what lies ahead gave me some peace of mind. In my case my Lymphoma is not as bad as these things can be, but the important thing was I KNEW what I was facing and what lay ahead. KNOWING is the critical thing.

It's hard to answer the overall experience question. I wasn't sure whether to factor in the pain of the procedure so I left it out of the equation. The pain is something that is unavoidable. Everything else was five stars, from the bedside manner of the doctor, to the nurses/attendants and front desk staff. Everyone was friendly and your place is in a convenient location. I have had seven visits to your radiology rooms now and it was really great that this time you were able to fit me in for a scam in the day and the injection the following day. Normally you are a lot busier so that was a nice surprise. The only other thing I could possibly mention is the driveway into your premises. I know now, of course, but those who don't, could easily scrape the bottom of their car duep to the severe dip as you go in. Perhaps a sign on the gate as you go in would be a good idea to warn customers.

Went in for colonoscopy and gastroscopy. Admission preparation perfect. Surgeon Dr Nair . Took it upon himself to band 3 haemorrhoids. I was told 3 to 24 hours of discomfort. Discharged with no pain relief. Put up with heap of discomfort and broken sleep for far to long before I took action to manage my discomfort. 5 days later is the first time I have been able to work. As a Dairyfarmer who was roster to work 24 after procedure. It put immense pressure on my young daughter to take my place on the farm forcing her to work 16 hour days. So in summary I'm extremely disappointed in how I was allowed to leave Maryvale hospital without being informed and armed with medication for my recovery. It has been extremely disruptive to my farm business.

I have been seeing Steve for the last 12 years, he is an exceptional doctor a one of a kind. He is extremely thorough in everything he does and takes his time to look at everything thoroughly. He has a wonderful bedside manner and would have to be one of the best doctors I have ever dealt with. I had recently been to my gp with a few issues, and she was not able to help me. She referred me on to Steve and he picked up the issue straight away and put me on medication which resolved my issue. Please do not retire anytime soon Steve you are a true gem.

The staff at the centre were all awesome🙏 My only issue is that after the procedure I got ‘Post-procedural Rhinitis After Intravenous Sedation With Supplemental Nasal Oxygen, or PRAISE SNOG’. Could I suggest your nurses are trained further in this so they can give patients advice before they leave if it happens to them. I was sneezing consistently before I left, so it was pretty obvious I had it. And now I know more, there are ways to minimise the impact, that I would have appreciated knowing earlier.

Did my gastro/colonoscopy at this clinic. I must say all the staff are so friendly and make you feel at ease. All steps of the procedure are well explained by the nurse and doctors. The place is extremely clean and you actually feel very comfortable lying on the bed. Post procedure was very good with the doctor explaining what had been done and any issues. Highly recommended!! Good experience The lady I had was the best person I’ve ever had giving me the type of ultrasound. Thank you for being so very kind. I’ve had some pretty horrible experiences with internal ultrasounds but not with her she was so professional and comforting, explained everything thoroughly. I’d choose to go back to her for anything.
