I saw Marcia for a ruptured ovarian cyst (I've never had a cyst before and so wanted not only treatment for the cyst itself, but an understanding as to what it was, why I got it, what the treatment options were). Marcia was lovely, but I felt totally dismissed when I raised with her the question that I may have PCOS. I've previously been to the GP multiple times with excessive facial hair growth, hormonal acne and unexplained weight gain - all symptoms of PCOS. When I mentioned it to Marcia, she quickly dismissed that 'people with PCOS are obese', and therefore I don't have it. I was disappointed I had to push to explain to her the symptoms I had, rather than her asking me about my symptoms, given it was our first appointment. While I'm not a medical expert, I know through my own research and through friends with diagnosed PCOS that the idea everyone with PCOS is obese is a myth. I have a friend who also saw Marcia, who also was told she didn't have PCOS because she wasn't overweight. My friend pushed for a blood test and she was diagnosed with PCOS. I just wanted to highlight this as many people go undiagnosed for PCOS and myths like this do not help. I left the appointment really upset and feeling dismissed about my concerns. Unfortunately for this reason I'll be seeing someone else for managing my cyst.

Honestly, Emily the office manager is an absolute delight! i'm a chaotic patient at best - missing referral deadlines for scans etc - but Emily was always there to help and so lovely about my chaos... When i got in to see Mr. Reece Sher he was AMAZING - he took the time to really properly explain every single thing! i asked a metric tonne of questions, and he patiently answered every single thing, he didn't make me feel time pressured at all, i didn't even realise how long i'd been in till i can out! He didn't push anything, and was honest about ALL my options and where there are data gaps/unknowns. My surgery went exceptionally well - Mr. Reece Sher was thoughtful and extremely considerate of everything thoughout the entire process, the operation, the hospital stay, and the follow ups. I’m 12 months on now and I couldn’t be more greatful. And just another shout out to Emily - coz shes amazing too!

Scan was moved from Monday to Wednesday, and I queried this as my booking with the specialist was two hours later. Advised this was no problem as the results would be sent over to him. Logged on for a zoom appointment 2.30 and waited for 40 minutes to be advised that the Doctor did not work at this time. Then received a call for a consultation about 7.30pm from the Doctor. Advised him I did not want to speak to him, and I would get a referral to someone else, and he told me he had an obligation to consult me. Proceeded to tell me about his personal problems and he needed to pick his kids up from school that afternoon due to marital problems. I told him most people in life have problems and his were no concern of mine. Seriously the worst experience I have ever had in medical practices. Bizarre

Dr Ali Gursel

Dr Gursel was a caring person but communication after the surgery seemed poor. I had asked if I could go into rehab, preferably to Mt Wilga but was told constantly to have rehab in the home. I did not want this for a variety of reasons so, begrudgingly, I was allowed to stay in the SAN rehab for about a week(one day at a time), which I found very stressful. Dr Lam eventually found me a place as a day patient at Mt Wilga. This worked out well and when I completed rehab at Mt Wilga, I was happy to lead my indecent life and move around freely. This was not the experience I was hoping for with Dr Gursel.

I didn’t believe that connecting via zoom would be of any benifit, however I did find that my anxiety was not as heightened and I was lucky to get someone that I was comfortable to talk to first time round. This is very very rare and has been one of the main reasons I’ve never bothered with seeking help, as you grow tired of reliving everything you want to heel from trying to find someone your comfortable talking to. As I said I got lucky so for the first time ever I can say I had a good experience here. I’ve seeked professional help since and have not had the same luck ever again

I’ve given my experience the highest ratings. The reason for this is because the staff were all super friendly and helpful with my appointments. The Clinic was clean and professional, and the staff ensured privacy when dealing with sensitive information. The Lab Staff were very helpful with explaining everything and the results following the appointments as well. I should note that there was ‘Technical Difficulties’ within some of the rooms, but this didn’t cause any issues for me, it’s more just to point them out.

This was our second baby with Karen, but first C-Section. She was in her absolute element in the theatre room, which helped me feel more at ease throughout the process. The theatre staff commented how clean her work was when transferring me to the hospital bed afterwards, and my incision has healed really well since without any infection or complication. I couldn't recommend Karen more highly, especially if you are planning on a C-section birth.
