Really disappointed with the wait time for a fasted, four year old child. We sat in the main wait room, then a man arrived, sat opposite and played Indian cinema on his phone very loudly with no staff consideration. I was advised by the dentist there was no hospital excess gap fee to lay, that there was an arrangement with BUPA. On arrival I was charged a $500 gap fee. I paid without complaint and enquired with receptionist who didn’t understand the question and told me it was between me and BUPA. We then sat in a stark waiting room- my daughter was delighted as was told it was a play room, there was some used A4 paper and 2-3 broken pencils under a play table wedged in the corner. We continued to wait. She was measured for her height by a nurse who did not ask her to have her heels against the wall or ankles together. She advised us to ‘not get too excited, there’s not much in there’ when ushering us to the play room. The place seemed empty and stark and maybe some psper could have been topped up for kids? Post op was very upsetting and distressing for me. My daughter was in the recovery room with the sides up kicking, thrashing and screaming ‘owing, owie’ over and over again with her hands in her mouth a blood stained saliva truck.ing down her chin. We were accompanied by 2 nurses. No intervention was made, and they told me she wasn’t in pain. This was very distressing, at about 3:10 pm I was told to sit on a recliner and she was )laced in my lap, woozy, upset, combative. There was nothing I could do. I understand the facility shuts at 4:30, but it was not even 4pm when the nurses told my daughter she doesn’t have to wear shoes she can just leave. She was unsteady, unbalanced on her feet, she almost fell, she had blood all around her mouth and I left first the car park for an hour long trip home. Not convinced she was in a good discharge state and pulling over twice to check on her. Was there no post op analgesia charted for my daughter? I am a medical doctor and I can recognise when a child is in pain and needs treatment. She almost fell as we walked out she was unbalanced. For a $700 a aesthetic fee can a single post op dose of endone not be written up? It was very distressing to be at this hospital and seemed like we were the last there and everyone was just keen to go or gone. Are staff not able to call the anaesthetist or surgeon? I’ve never seen anything like it, and knowing how inappropriate this was made it a lot worse. This did not appear to be a child friendly/ appropriate service. My daughter had her tonsils out 18 months ago at the Wesley. My sone had an ORIF for a fractured arm requiring surgery at both Mater Private, then St Andrew’s in Brisbane. All 3 were 10/10 compared to this facility, for dental treatment no less. I could not recommend to anyone. Sincerely, Dr L. G. BSc MBBS FRACGP

I had a seriously botched deviated septum surgery through our public hospital system the disfigurement left me unable to leave the house! My nose was asymmetrical from every angle and I was unable to breath from one nostril that had completely closed up. I’m so grateful that I found Dr Jumeau! Right from the beginning he made me feel confident and comfortable with him, he certainly didn’t sugar coat anything. We had a big job ahead and I had a long while to wait before my nose was ready for more surgery. My first surgery with him was extremely complicated and I had a huge improvement. A second surgery was necessary to fine tune the symmetry. The finished result is AMAZING I still can’t believe he was able to achieve the end result given what he had to work with. All through these processes Dr Jumeau was fantastic…we had multiple follow up appointments especially after the surgeries…sometimes three times a week in the early days. His professionalism, communication and ability to explain what was going on was reassuring. This has been a three year ordeal for me but I absolutely chose the right doctor to help me. Dr Jumeau you are an absolute legend…I thank you from the bottom of my heart! ❤️

We arrived at the practice and filled out the forms and waited for the appointment. going into the appointment I was rather dissatisfied as none of my previous documents had been sent to the specialist. this made it very hard to get any progress done with my pain and condition. the specialist told me to give him a week or two and he will find the documents and call me back to figure out why i have a constant pain in my neck and hands. upon the call recently, he further told me he didnt find any of the old documents and that he couldnt help at this moment. He said none of the other specialists had got back to him and that he needed more time. Additionally I felt belittled and insignificant as the specialist asked me what would i want to achieve with him, knowing I have previously stated that i am in chronic pain and i want to atleast reduce pain by 50% and also be a bit more mobile.

As far as hernia surgery goes what a great experience! Liang was personable and informative from the very first consult to the follow up post operation. Just a genuinely nice guy and remarkable surgeon. I also have to mention Pam from his office who one of the nicest ladies I’ve dealt with, a beautiful human being and nothing was too much trouble for her. Surgery went well and Liang called my wife as soon as it was done and kept her informed. Recovery has been a breeze so I can only assume he was gentle in there. Drs friendliness, explanation and professionalism was great. My only feedback is regarding creating an environment more comfortable to young children. Whilst my child did eventually sleep, they intentionally fought sleeping as the room environment was strange and there was a Dr (stranger to them) watching them. I understand there may be a requirement for the Dr to watch, if not perhaps a screen divide could help this. Something more alike to a bed with perhaps some cosy / child friendly colours in the environment could help, as well as dimmer red lighting which can aid sleep.

I have been very happy with my experience at my two previous appointments. However, I was very annoyed on my first visit when I had an Echo test booked at 9.45 and an ECG booked 10.30. Only to be told on the day that the cardiologist had decided he wanted me to have the ECG today prior to my appointment with him. I had rearranged my day around the appointment, which not only affected me, it affected others. I was both annoyed and confused as to why I wasn’t advised of this prior to the appointment.
