Established over forty years ago, Mugga Wara Endoscopy Centre is a leading provider of gastrointestinal procedures in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT). The centre specialises in upper endoscopy (gastroscopy) and lower endoscopy (colonoscopy), utilising state-of-the-art equipment such as OLYMPUS Dual Focus endoscopes with Narrow Band Imaging technology to enhance lesion detection and provide detailed examinations of mucosal changes. These procedures are undertaken by a skilled team of endoscopists with extensive experience in the area.
Notably, Mugga Wara Endoscopy Centre is the only private day hospital in Canberra offering Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS), a complex procedure performed by endoscopists with specialised training; the EUS procedure allows not only visualisation of the GI tract itself but also imaging through the wall of the GI tract to visualise other nearby organs. The centre's team of specialist doctors is supported by experienced nurses and administrative staff, ensuring the smooth operation of clinical and day-to-day activities during patient visits.
The facility is committed to patient comfort and efficiency, providing comprehensive information to help patients prepare for their procedures and understand what to expect on the day of their visit. Feedback is welcomed to continually improve the quality of care provided.
Mugga Wara Endoscopy Centre is located at Suite 1, Equinox 2, 70 Kent St, Deakin ACT 2600. For more information or to schedule an appointment, please contact the centre directly.

The whole process from check in, the procedure and post procedure checkout was very professional. Communication was great and you are made to feel very comfortable
The staff at the centre were all awesomeđ My only issue is that after the procedure I got âPost-procedural Rhinitis After Intravenous Sedation With Supplemental Nasal Oxygen, or PRAISE SNOGâ. Could I suggest your nurses are trained further in this so they can give patients advice before they leave if it happens to them. I was sneezing consistently before I left, so it was pretty obvious I had it. And now I know more, there are ways to minimise the impact, that I would have appreciated knowing earlier.
Everyone was helpful and caring. The site was clean and provided lovely fresh food and drink.
For what can be a scary or daunting procedure, it went all smoothly and quicky. Before I knew it I was eating sandwiches and ready to be discharged. All the staff were incredibly kind, doctors and nurses.
All the staff were attentive, thorough and calm. Both Dr Michael Li and Dr Nic Holt were also reassuring and thorough in their explanations of what to expect and were happy to answer any questions. Thanks to all the team.
The nurse who did my admission was not friendly and didn't complete the checklist properly. She ticked no to the question about hypertension even though I said had high blood pressure, and she then just ticked no for all the other questions without asking me any of them. She really didn't seem to want to be there or care about doing her job professionally. After my procedure the same nurse came and asked if I had finished my sandwich and drink and when I said I hadn't she picked up the tray anyway and then stood over me until I quickly finished my juice. She then told me to go and sit in a recliner. When I stood up I was quite dizzy and almost fell over. She was a short woman wearing glasses and a face mask. I don't know her name. The other nurses were excellent - friendly and professional.
Colonoscopy - level of awareness during procedure was unexpected, heard full conversation and felt procedure! No pain and unable to advise do sedation must have been enough for that but I gave called and advised nurses of my level of awareness.
Patient of Dr Bromley, he is amazing, Highly recommend. Nursing staff are great too friendly approachable
I have nothing but praise for the Drs and nurses. Everyone worked effortlessly to provide an efficient and caring service in a busy environment. Thank you Jen P.
