Notably, Mugga Wara Endoscopy Centre is the only private day hospital in Canberra offering Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS), a complex procedure performed by endoscopists with specialised training; the EUS procedure allows not only visualisation of the GI tract itself but also imaging through the wall of the GI tract to visualise other nearby organs. I was impressed by the total experience. The admin and nursing staff were very kind and professional and explained all processes. Dr Bromley and his anaesthetist were very attentive and I was made to feel very comfortable and was put at ease.
Timing was perfect. I arrived at the requested time. Form filling took a couple of minutes. Toilets were easily accessible. I waited for only a couple of minutes before being called and the process started. It was pretty seamless and very efficient from start to finish. Sandwiches and tea/coffee on revival was great too.
People were welcoming and friendly. Very quick to get in. Easy to find the practise. And it was nice to have wifi. I also loved my salmon sandwich when I woke up
Your clinical staff are not the subject of my criticism - Makuku was very helpful. But, your receptionist [Laura] is. I phoned twice and visited Mugga Wara ahead of my endoscopies to understand everything to ensure all bills were paid, to arrange for my own drop off/ pick up, checking on my wellbeing afterwards. I live alone so have to be across everything. I also have fibromyalgia so avoiding stress by being organised is a priority. Laura kept repeating that you were understaffed, would not print forms out at my request for hard copy, told me she hadn't had time to print out the forms when I appeared today, said I had to wait 20 minutes. She disappeared leaving me waiting in reception for over 30 minutes forcing me to ask one of your non administrative staff to assist me instead. During that time, the phone rang and two people came to pick up patients as well. Thanks to your staff who did assist me by printing out the forms I wanted to read before my appointed gastroscopy and colonoscopy. But, I am sad to report, I think your receptionist does not reflect well on you in the front office dealings with patients.
My first visit. For a colonoscopy. Staff in every stage were courteous, warm and professional. Made a big difference in what could otherwise have been a stressful experience.
10/10. Utterly professional friendly and helpful staff.
