It is safe to say that when I met Dr Komath, I had absolutely no hope left. I had spent 16 years in pain that only got worse, was living on a blended diet, losing weight and had been told by my local maxillofacial department on the NHS that nothing else could be done to help me, but Dr Komath changed everything. He listened in a way no one else had. For the first time, someone took me seriously. He carefully considered my history, my scans, my symptoms and most importantly, the toll this was taking on my life. He never once rushed me. He never once dismissed my experiences, and he never insisted we try one more round of something that had already failed me before. Instead, he treated me with compassion and respect, and with a level of care I hadn’t experienced in over a decade. He didn’t offer false hope. He didn’t promise any miracles. I am unbelievably lucky to be under his care and trusted him wholeheartedly to perform my bilateral jaw joint replacement surgery. I will never be able to thank him enough. Overall this was a good experience, I had a combined assessment via NHS right to choose. I liked that I was seen in person for this. The wait times were much longer than initially expected however I believe there was a huge influx of patients at the same time that I was referred. The assessments themselves were good with understanding and knowledgeable assessors. The report which I have received is in depth although I did think there may be a professionals insight into the early developmental questionnaire whereas it is just copied into the report. I had a few queries about the report which I am waiting on the answer to and also have asked for it to be sent to my GP which hasn't been done yet but again, this is the lacking wait times. Apart from the wait times, the service was great and I am thankful for their help. I think my referral was made in March 2025 and I am writing this review in December 2025.

Mr Withey was recommended to me by a very experienced beauty therapist. I consulted him privately following a bad fall against a door frame which caused me to cut a deep gash above my eye. Following emergency stitching at A&E at my local NHS hospital I was left with thick and unsightly scarring on my face and unable to use one side of my facial muscle. My Withey performed surgery - finding chips of paint buried in the wound. After normal initial bruising, the wound healed very quickly and the scarring has almost vanished. 6 months later the nerves have regrown and my facial movement is normal again. I found both Mr Withey and his assistant Aleks to be extremely professional, courteous, efficient and I cannot praise his work highly enough. I would trust him to perform surgery again in the future should it ever be needed.

She is never too busy for a phone call or email. Her team are just as kind, empathetic and lovely as she is. The whole team make you feel understood, you can 100% be confident in the care you receive. This is what a doctor who does patient centred care should look up to, she is truly an inspiration to me, I hope to live up to her standard when I qualify. Having had experience with several Cardiologists in the past, I was looking for someone who has the specialism in the electrical pulse activation within the heart. From his CV compared with the others, he appeared to me to be the best of the choices on offer in Bristol. Having made that selection I have no hesitation in confirming that he quickly identified the problem with my heart and recommended that I have a two lead Pacemaker fitted. Following his recommendation in just over a week the operation took place. He has a very friendly manner and took time to explain all aspects of the procedure he intended to follow and the risk factors involved. He appears as a person who is calm and reassuring and I was convinced he is totally reliable and someone I could trust.

Dr Laura takes her time to explain everything to me, and she even manages to teach me some medical stuff considering I am a medical student! She is always keen to involve my family and ensure I am fully supported. She has helped me navigate several gynaecology conditions that I have recently been investigated for and diagnosed with. She continues to follow up with me and ensure I am well looked after. She looks at me from head to toe and listens to each of my concerns, no matter what they are, with compassion. She is a true angel who I was blessed with to have as my doctor. I will always sing her praises she is truly phenomenal. I am beyond lucky to have her looking after me. She is my inspiration for when I graduate and become a doctor.

I had severe pain from Osteoarthritis which the NHS were throwing as much delay at as possible. I had a busy year planned with commitments abroad and it was impossible to to arrange a treatment plan. I consulted Ravi via a Spire hospital. He was able to format a plan, including pain relieving injections so that the replacement operation fitted in with the end of my travel arrangements. He explained everything clearly throughout the process ad then, with fantastic skill, carried out the operation. I only needed one night in the hospital and 17 days after was signed off by the physio as not requiring further attention. I walk with no limp at all and can climb stairs normally. Overall a great team led by a superb caring surgeon.

Impossible to speak to anyone in Cambridge which was very frustrating. am used to being seen privately and this did not come up to the usual standard. Although the staff were very polite and friendly I felt that nobody was sure what to do and did not fill me with confidence. I have never gone privately and only seen the surgeon on the day of the operation with no follow up appointment with the actual surgeon. I was left with a cut on the skin to the left of my eye and an indentation across my eyebrow which I feel had probably been caused by the clamp used to keep my eyelid open. I was left feeling that for some reason the private sector in Cambridge was struggling. A great pity.

Very efficient but my one concern is that in the process of trying to sort out the problem mis communication somewhere along the line I was prescribed the wrong increase of a drug that I am taking which resulted in me suffering a very bad case of diarrhoea my doctor at the time questioned it but to no avail hence the problem it wasn’t Dr Marie or my GP so it’s someone who answered the original question phone call who took it on themselves to increase the wrong drug according to Dr Marie and this shouldn’t happen other than that I can’t fault anything and hopefully now I’m back on the correct drug it will clear up and I can get back to eating a Norman diet again 🤞🤞

My experience at the hospital was excellent from start to finish. The room was extremely comfortable and well appointed, which certainly helped with rest and recovery, but what truly made the experience exceptional was the nursing team. The nurses were absolutely superb in every way — kind, attentive, professional, and endlessly patient. Nothing was ever too much trouble, no matter the time of day or how small the request. I was made to feel safe, cared for, and genuinely supported throughout my stay. I am incredibly grateful for the outstanding care I received and would not hesitate to recommend this hospital to others.

Unfortunately, the registration form I had completed online for the consultation seemed to have gone missing. The form that was presented had an address from over 30 years ago!! Not a good start, but thereafter things went smoothly. However, when an invoice recently arrived for a previous stress test and blood test, no account had been taken of the fact that I paid for the stress test on the day I took the test. Overall, there have been some administrative failings.

Britany was absolutely incredible. I am blown away by the extra lengths she went to, to research my condition and check with all the medics and then put together an appropriate plan for me. And for her help liaising with my health insurer. She was so thoughtful and caring - I have honestly never experienced anything like it. Britany went so far above and beyond. Thank you. And, I am now fully recovered from my frozen shoulder without surgery!

To help other people having the operation, I would encourage them to have it and explain its hard work at first but gets easier the more work you put in yourself , meaning physio work , sticking to the plan and not doing too much or definitely to little and being patient, success will come it might take time . I'm totally pain free which probably took a good 4 months to get there , now after nearly 10 months I have no problems whatsoever!

The team on the OCD ward incredibly kind caring and compassionate. It's like being part of a family, including the other 5 patients here. Although, it was challenging at times, I've learnt so much about my condition and I now realise that my beliefs does not necessarily mean it's true. If you're suffering with OCD and feel like you're alone or you have nowhere else to turn to, I highly recommend the Nightingale's 28 day inpatient stay.
