My appointment with Dr Madrigal was a breath of fresh air! I've seen more than my fair share of specialists due to complex chronic illness, and I can confidently say that Dr Madrigal is one of the best doctors I have ever seen. I came to him with the hope that he may be able to unpack a suspected misdiagnosis that has weighed on me for 9 years, significantly impacting my quality of life both in the uncontrolled symptoms and management strategies. Safe to say, he exceeded my expectations. He patiently listened, asked clear and thoughtful questions, and exuded a warmth with genuine care and concern (a trait that is sadly not as common as you'd hope among doctors, at least in my experience). He explained the misdiagnosis clearly, what he thinks I may be experiencing instead, and how we can move forward to diagnose / treat it. I didn't feel rushed at all, and it was abundantly clear he wanted to do his best to help me. That care extended to his clinic letter too. Dr Madrigal's letter was easily the best clinic letter I've had from any consultant. Even for bits I found myself struggling to articulate in the appointment, he somehow managed to make sense of it and report it accurately - proving just how deeply he listened to me. His admin team are also amazing, even checking in to make sure I knew what to do next. I truly left that appointment more hopeful than I've felt in YEARS: like I finally may be on the right path to get my life back. All because a highly knowledgeable and kind consultant took the time to compassionately listen. Overall, I would highly recommend Dr Madrigal to everyone I can, and I feel blessed that I was able to see him.

The whole referral process was a bit of a mess with little communication, so what could have been a 4-8 week wait-time was actually turned into 3-4 months. I understand though that since my original referral skylight had an influence of applications, but mine got put aside without talking to me because of problems with my GP. When I originally contacted them after 8 weeks to get some information I was told not to contact again and then if anything was needed from me someone from skylight would reach out. So I wait, and heard nothing. When I finally contacted them again, close to the 4 months mark, I got told my referral still hadn't been processed because of a mistake from my GP and them not answering Skylight's emails/phone calls. I had to keep contacting both skylight and my GP to get this sorted until finally someone who could give me a bit more help and information helped get it sorted then and there. I cant fault skylight too much though, right after that everything went smoothly and they have been really informative on the rest of the steps. I just wish in future they contact the patient right away if it happens, rather than wait for the patient to contact them.

My whole experience from start to finish has been absolutely amazing! All staff have been 100% in their delivery of care and support. I felt safe and looked after. The anaesthetist and theatre staff before both operations were totally dedicated in ensuring I felt at ease at a time when I felt most anxious. All ward nurses and assistants were focussed on delivering the highest standard of care with their patience and nothing being too much trouble. Pantry team kept me well fed with delicious drinks and food and always with a smile. Imaging team were so caring, cheerful and again reassuring and professional. The physio team are incredible, they have encouraged and lead me to where I am now - so very nearly there. I cannot fault my experience at Gatwick Spire. A massive thank you to Mr Panose and all teams involved in my operations and recovery.

After experiencing irregular periods for as long as I can remember, I’m so grateful that Mr Hussain is now working to determine the reasons behind that. After throughly talking through my medical history, Mr Hussain clearly articulated his diagnosis and the additional investigations required to confirm that. Throughout the appointment, he spoke with care and kindness, never rushing me, and encouraging me to ask all the questions I needed. While it’s only my first appointment, I’m tremendously glad I chose to see Mr Hussain and feel confident that I’m in the best hands to progress my care.

I couldn’t find where I needed to go at first due to the CT scanner lorry being in front of the hospital sign and no other sign and map showing where the Spencer hospital was. When I did find it and after filling in my paperwork I had to go to the fracture clinic where my appointment was. There were no signs to say where to sit (a simple sign saying Spencer hospital patients please wait here would have helped). A lot of patients were wandering around aimlessly trying to work out where to go. It took those of us that had worked it out t tell them. I waited over half an hour for my appointment (I know things get behind and different patients need longer).

I came for travel vaccines and the team could not have been better. Prompt replies from both Gina on reception, and Dr Emma Noble, asking about my travel plans and countries, appointment arranged and before you know it, I am fully prepped & ready to go. Dr Paul Wiseman was masterful. I had to get 4 different vaccines and barely felt anything. Very personable, put me at my ease. Pointed me to the websites recommended by Department of Health / Foreign affairs for most up to date advice and important steps I can take as a traveller (hand washing, mosquito nets etc). A great service from a first class team. Thank you so much.

Although the staff were amazing I found the actual cataract operation deeply unpleasant. I could see everything that was being done whilst being unable to move - the real stuff of nightmares, though the actual operation was a complete success. If I may suggest a way to make this experience a little more bearable would be to enable patients to choose their own music to listen to? As a professional singing practitioner, I'm aware how effective music can be in distraction? (I personally found the choice of radio station and programme increased the unpleasantness of the experience)

The staff firstly I would like to emphasise were extremely helpful and charming . Mr Konan was very decisive in his diagnosis and willing to explain in more detail issues with my extremely painful hip, which I found reassuring. He also was very reassuring and optimistic that the problem could be rectified with simple intervention. I travelled from West Sussex rather than see local consultants as I feel UCLH is a centre of excellence re orthopaedics and I trust Mr Konans opinion and expertise in the light of the fact he performed my last hip replacement with great success!!

Mr Deshmukh performed laser treatment on me after I developed a post cataract surgery problem. The diagnosis and action was very quickly and professionally undertaken, within the same day. The charges were clearly explained to me as well as the passible chances of side effects. My surgery was performed and it turned out that there were no adverse side effects. I was very pleased with the service provided by Mr Deshmukh as well as his back room staff who were very professional and courteous. I would thoroughly recommend him.

The Doctor I saw for my Health Examination (Dr Munraj Gill) made the whole experience probably my best experience with a health care practitioner. He made everything completely comfortable whilst maintaining an efficient pace to get through all that needed to be done. I was in and out quicker than I anticipated but at the same time did not feel rushed. Thank you for this experience and restoring my faith back into the healthcare system. Mr Chipperfield replaced my left hip in June and at my meeting with him when we discussed my right hip replacement I told him he had a hard act to follow due to the fact my first surgery had been such an outstanding success.... All the doctors, psychiatric nurses and reception team are outstanding. It's a small thing, but I wish that there was hand cream supplied in the toilets. This may not be the "fault" of The London Psychiatry Centre as they do not own the building, but they could put in a request to the appropriate people. I spend thousands of pounds there so it would be a small but appreciated gesture. Even my hair dressing salon supplies hand cream!

Really good treatment at PRI from all the staff. Having had a bilateral hip replacement, the first week it was a bit tough. I’m so glad I had it done as pain has virtually gone. I was sent to Pitlochry hospital for a few days. That helped tremendously as well, especially with ongoing physio. Mr Sargent was very patient and explained things clearly.
