Mr Steve J J Foley

Mr. Steve J. J. Foley is a highly experienced urologist specialising in both male and female continence issues, with a focus on diagnostic and investigative services for general urology problems. He works closely with the Physiotherapy Department at The Berkshire Independent Hospital and the Berkshire Continence Service.

Mr. Foley has pioneered the surgical management of male incontinence, particularly with the use of the "Male Sling" procedure following prostate cancer surgery. He is now one of the most experienced surgeons in the UK performing this operation and regularly trains other UK surgeons in its technique. In addition to his clinical work, Mr. Foley has conducted numerous teaching sessions on surgical techniques in Berkshire. He is actively involved in international research studies focused on incontinence and urinary tract infections.

Since 2002, Mr. Foley has been the Managing Partner of the Reading Urology Private Practice Partnership. His background includes general surgical training in the Royal Air Force, followed by a move to the Institute of Urology, London, where he focused on female urology, bladder dysfunction, and spinal cord injury. In January 2001, he was appointed the lead specialist in female urology at the Royal Berkshire Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

With over a decade of experience in female urology, Mr. Foley has built a comprehensive range of surgical and non-surgical options for managing issues such as stress incontinence and interstitial cystitis. His expertise also extends to male incontinence, recurrent urinary tract infections (UTIs), and vasectomies.
