Nobody looks forward to a heart operation and I was certainly nervous as I arrived 30 minutes late due to a traffic jam at the QE main car park. The receptionist was cool and just told me to wait. When the porter arrived to take me to my room, the personnel interface changed to friendliness and quiet authority for the duration of my stay. As the process unfolded every new person was friendly and smiling. I met Prof Doshi for a final briefing at which he told me that due to my low pulse rate, the chances of needing a pacemaker during the procedure were 1 in 4. I remember very little of the procedure in the operating theatre though astonished by the visible technology. When I became more conscious of events, I was on a bed in the ICU unit. I can then only describe my feelings as totally subservient to the warm people attending me and feeling extremely relaxed. The degree of attention was extremely confidence building. Prof. Leyva visited me to explain that a pacemaker had been fitted during the operation though I hadn't previously researched the implications of that. In the next 24 hours, I must have had twenty different people attend me and all behaving in the same friendly professional way and rebuilding my own confidence. The physio took me from my bed for a walking and stairs test and pronounced me fit to go home. When I was asked to order some lunch prior to discharge I was invited to have my wife also join me for lunch which was a nice way to end my stay. I was surprised at my own feeling of normality walking to the car park only 30 hours after arriving and having undergone a serious operation which only a few years ago would have required an extensive stay in hospital. On my return home and back in my study I was able to relax and share with my wife the discharge notes and recovery regime. I write this five days after the operation and now into 3 ten minute walks a day which I am finding easy to do without any breathlessness. As I work towards full recovery, I will probably look back forgetting the anxiety of the time and think only with gratitude of those remarkable people and the amazing work they do. Paul T

Both of my clinicians were friendly and professional. In particular, Hannah Geary was excellent - reading my report from her, I felt she really listened and understood my situation and experiences. A few negative points: I arrived around 5-10 minutes early for my in-person appointment and no one from Skylight was listed on the outside of the clinic. I tried to speak to someone else on the buzzer list, but they couldn't help. I then rang the Skylight number and got an answer machine. Only then did my clinician arrive - he said he didn't know my appointment was at 9.30am as he never does appointments that early. This was an unnecessarily stressful experience, and when relaying this to Hannah Geary, she asked for my permission to escalate this. The wait time on communication was much longer than I would have expected. My report was also delayed because my early developmental questionnaire was somehow not linked to my profile. I received initial emails saying everything was complete in October, but then the eight-week timeline passed and I had to chase up. Had someone contacted me earlier to say there was a problem (which was easily rectified), I would not have had to wait an extra month to get my final report. I also haven't received confirmation that my request for extra sessions has been acknowledged and a rough timeline for these, so will follow up on email.

I cannot thank Dr Arun Shanmugandan enough for his diligent assessment and treatment. My condition was severe requiring multiple procedures under sedation as well surgery under general anaesthetic each completed by Arun. Arun has been exceptional in ensuring the issues were resolved completely. Even picking up on an irregularity in my blood results which led to finding an unrelated issue with my parathyroid gland. This has now also been resolved following Aruns referral, which I was also very extremely pleased with. Aruns patience and bedside manner are second to none, ensuring I understood each process every step of the way. As a 41 year old woman I was horrified to find I had so many health issues happening at once. However, Arun was able to resolve each of them in less than 6 months giving me confidence in my health moving forward. I feel 10 times better, I have so much more energy and a new lease for life. Thank you so much to Arun and his amazing team for all you have done, it has truly been life changing for me .

1. We were wrong footed by the entrance barrier, but luckily another patient was close to the entrance button. 2. Parking was tight - we had to park in the radiology section, but hoped that would be ok. 3. The surgery was wonderfully light and airy and spatially arranged in such a way that each patient could have space and privacy. 4. The staff i have spoken to on the phone were immensely welcoming and efficient, as were the ladies on the desk on arrival 5. The loos were wonderfully clean and airy. 6. Dr. Johnstone was most welcoming and sympathetic. I can't make the next step work, which is to review Dr. J. On only one visit, my experience was very positive. She was clearly listening to what i was saying, and made a very quick referral, for which I am very grateful.

I have had two consultations with Mr Stone so far which have been excellent. Mr Stone is thorough, professional and knowledgeable. He is very caring, patient and an extremely good communicator. I am hoping the steroid injections I have received will work wonders but if I do need an operation I have every confidence that Mr Stone will look after me extremely well.

Whilst all staff were friendly and professional from the reception staff to the dentist. My appointment was 10 o'clock but I was not seen until 10:25 without any courteous apology or advise of the delay until I was in with the dentist. I appreciate that delays can happens with the treatment of the customers before me but a courteous apology and advice of the estimated wait would have been appreciated as my car was parked in a pay and display area.

Dr Jacques is amazing. She is so friendly and makes you feel at ease straight away. She has great knowledge about the menopause and explores all the options to make sure she finds the perfect solution. For me she has changed my life considerably, I feel so much better in myself and I personally couldn’t have asked for a better service. Would highly recommend.
