I have been so pleased with my experience of surgery by Dr Shilen Patel. At the first consultation he explained very clearly and in detail what my operation would entail and the possible risks, but without scaring me. This gave me a lot of confidence for the day of the operation, and the surgery went very well. When dressings were removed 10 days after my operation I was really surprised to see how neat the wound was, and it was healing nicely. I had very little pain, and Mr Patel explained to me at my follow up appointment that the tumour had been removed fully without rupturing, so there is very little chance of it returning. He had also explained how they had worked to ensure they did not damage a nearby nerve which I had been so relieved about. In conclusion, I was very pleased with the overall treatment received and with the care and respect I was shown. Thank you.

My experience of the hospital was very good. The staff were amazing especially Jayne on Day surgery and David at the ward at night. The only downside that came to my attention is being told that there was no lactose free milk for my tea. The lady, I did catch her name, told me that she wasn’t aware of my overnight stay. She asked me if I was aware that I was staying overnight and I replied ‘yes’. She then went on to ask if I had put it in my forms prior to attending and I said yes. She kept on going on it wasn’t her fault she had been told. A bit of advice would be that she overshared. She clearly sorted the problem as the following morning someone had picked up the milk and I had it with my tea.

I highly recommend Miss Mez Aref-Adib. I’m 39 years old and had a 6 cm fibroid that caused heavy bleeding and severe pain. Dr. Aref-Adib performed my laparoscopic surgery and successfully removed all of the fibroids. She was extremely attentive to my condition after the surgery, followed up closely to make sure everything was going well, and was always available to answer any questions I had during recovery. Three months later, I feel so much better, and there is only a very faint mark left from the stitches on my abdomen. I highly recommend Dr. Aref-Adib—not only because she is highly skilled and professional, but also because she is genuinely kind, caring, and responsive.

Dr Bhatti was the perfect doctor for our pregnancy & birthing journey. We felt so comfortable the whole way through our pregnancy which was entirely due to her tremendous expertise & competency. 1)I found the signage to the main lifts and to Lyndhurst rooms confusing. There should be signage in the ground floor lift lobby saying which departments are on which floor. I have been complaining about this since 1971. 2)The excellent group portrait of the Royal Free consultants in about 1970 which used to be on the ground floor but has now been removed to the 12th Floor no longer has the key saying who they are. This is a digrace and an insult to the memory of a fine group of men (and about ten women), The key should be found and reinstated immediately.

Dr Hodge - what a lovely man! My two children both had appointments and from the second we met him he had an approachable, kind vibe. He listened to the issues, and gave lots of clear information before allergy tests were carried out. His knowledge and presence really gave such a reassurance. He was also great with the kids who were quite wild after a 3 hour car journey to the appointment. I arrived an anxious mum and left completely relaxed and reassured after the appointment.

Went to see him with some genuine prostate concerns following an MRI Scan and left with a weight off my shoulders.
