I have been seeing Josh at Reflex 18 for the past two months as part of my recovery plan following a Total Knee Replacement in October 2025. During my initial consultation, Josh carefully established my prior level of fitness and worked with me to identify ambitious yet realistic rehabilitation goals. He designed a bespoke programme of graduating exercises which are further adapted during each subsequent appointment. I find it helpful that Josh demonstrates each exercise, fine tunes my ‘effort’ and also emails a visual guide, as a reminder, after each appointment. I believe that I have made far greater progress in terms of knee flexion, stamina and strength by visiting Reflex 18 than I ever would have done if I had attempted to pursue my own rehab using a book or online package. Josh has the ability to identify which muscles need to be worked upon in order to achieve a certain goal and this is something which I could have not done myself. The Reflex 18 rooms are immaculately clean and are well-equipped. I have found every staff member to be friendly and highly professional. There is never any pressure to book further appointments. Parking is plentiful and convenient.. I am very happy with the support which I have received from Reflex 18.

Dr Sam Dawkins

Dr Dawkins used the excellent images from the echocardiogram to show me and explain why and how good the results of his innovative surgery and procedures on 24/10/2024 are. Dr Dawkins is a brilliant cardiologist and an amazing thinker. I was faced with open heart surgery to replace two valves and excision of thickened and calcified heart muscle; a very risky operation with a long and possibly unsuccessful recovery. Instead Dr Dawkins devised the novel procedures he used. The success of this is totally down to his skill and the trouble he took. He also gathered and used the help of other experts to minimise risk and provide support. At the visit on 2/1/2026 Dr Dawkins also took the time and trouble to review and explain all my medication. He asked all about my current health and has adjusted my medication to benefit me and help me get fit again. He treated me like a person not just a heart! I hope he will be able to share his knowledge with other cardiologists and so save more people from open heart surgery and needless risk and pain. I cannot praise or thank Dr Dawkins enough.

I had my varicose vein scan with Louis and honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the start, he made me feel relaxed, comfortable, and confident that I was being properly looked after. Louis explained everything in a really easy-to-understand way and talked me through the scan as it was happening, which helped put me completely at ease. The ultrasound was very thorough, and it was clear he really knows what he’s doing, nothing felt rushed, and he took his time to check everything properly. What I appreciated most was how calm and reassuring Louis was throughout the appointment. He made sure I understood what was going on, what the scan showed, and what the next steps might be, without using complicated medical language or making it feel overwhelming. The whole appointment felt professional but friendly, and I left feeling informed, reassured, and confident in the advice I was given. I had cataract surgery on both eyes on 4th December 2025 and l was discharged today, 12th January 2026. I'm so pleased to say l don't need to wear glasses or contact lenses any more. From start to finish, my experience at Freedom Vision Chelmsford was exceptionally good - and my end result is superb vision. - more than l could ever have hoped for. Colours are radiant and bright, and probably the biggest bonus for me is feeling so much more confident driving at night. After undergoing rigorous tests and scans , the actual procedure is very quick and painless. All the staff, without question were delightfully kind people and I'd like to thank them all individually, if only l knew their names. But in particular, l'd like to thank Nicola who guided me patiently and expertly throughout the whole procedure, and a massive thank you to Mr Hove , my surgeon, for being such a genius. If you are contemplating cataract surgery, l urge you to go for it - don't be scared - you won't regret it!

Dr Barke looked after my son following a shoulder injury, and his care was outstanding from start to finish. He acted swiftly to organise appropriate imaging, arranged expert surgical input, and ensured seamless physiotherapy follow-up. What was most valuable was that Dr Barke took overall responsibility for coordinating the entire process and leading my son’s return to sport. As a very keen sportsman, my son was understandably devastated at the prospect of missing out, but Dr Barke was incredibly reassuring, supportive, and clear throughout putting clear plans in place. He not only managed the injury expertly but also recognised the emotional impact of being sidelined, which made a huge difference. Thanks to his guidance and structured approach, my son felt supported, motivated, and confident as he worked back to sport. I would highly recommend Dr Barke to any young sportsman and their family.

After having an initial consultation and X-rays Mr Holton recommended a bilateral hip replacement in 2 stages . Both operations were successful with little or no pain/ discomfort. I had good mobility in as little as 4 weeks which was well above my expectations. I believe this was not only due to Mr Holton’s knowledge and expertise but also the. Mako Robotic Arm technology that I was offered on my initial consultation after Mr Holton explained the benefits . I can only say that the surgery has transformed my life and I am active again! Mr Holton is a truly dedicated and competent Surgeon a thoroughly nice man who is easy to talk to and has a very caring attitude. Dr Rohan Jagathesan

I came to Dr Jagathesan with symptoms that had been presenting since teenage years but had never been investigated by GPs. After talking these symptoms through with Dr Jagathesan he was very sympathetic to my concern and provided clear suggestions as to possible causes and outlined a set of tests to explore these possibilities as well as an extra round of tests if deemed necessary by the initial results. Once the tests were completed Dr Jagathesan was very clear in communicating the results, which were that my heart was structurally fine and showed no irregularities in the tests done. As such my symptoms were likely caused by anxiety and not life threatening. Dr Jagathesan’s communication and care throughout was fantastic presenting me clearly with facts and data whilst also being sympathetic to my concerns.

I had LASIK surgery with Allon Barsam yesterday, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. My vision feels unbelievably clear, almost like seeing through the eyes of a superhero. Allon guided me through every step of the procedure as it was happening, which made the entire experience feel calm, safe, and reassuring. The surgery was genuinely painless; there was one brief moment of discomfort that lasted no more than 10 seconds, and he calmly counted down the seconds so I knew exactly what to expect. From the moment I met Mr Karamanakos he was he was very attentive to my needs, explained every aspect of the procedure to correct my hernia. He went into great detail of my options as to which procedure would be best for me and that would produce the best results. After the operation he came and saw myself and my wife and spent time explaining what had happened during the procedure and what I should and should not do to ensure a good recovery. In the follow up appointment he again spent time with us on how I should proceed over the next 1 month. His explanations were very clear and easy to understand. Mr Karamanakos was very professional and was very easy and approachable throughout the whole time I was under his care.

Pleasant waiting area with self-service drinks available. Within an hour you are called and escorted into the preparation/recovery room where you are prepared for the operation and the procedure is explained including a visit from the surgeon to check if you have any questions. The operation takes place in the adjacent theatre where again efforts are made to keep you informed as to what’s happening and before you know it you are escorted back to your recovery area for water and a biscuit. Staff were pleasant and attentive at all times. Once thoroughly checked out you return to the waiting area to be collected by your escort who has already been called to say your are ready for collection. I was back home within 2 hours

From first contacting my GP who could have referred me to a podiatrist but asked me to decide on whether it was appropriate (a decision for which I have no expertise to make) in late May it took over 3 months to see Mr Qasim (via TIMS during which I obtained no advice to go back to GP to get podiatrist referral, but instead a referral to Mr Qasim for steroid injection). However, the podiatrist at Freeman said steroid was no longer suitable due to second toe having developed a hammer deformity by then (mid-November). I think I should have been referred straight to Freeman, not via TIMS and Mr Qasim because I had months of delay and pain while I waited, thus affecting my ability to do my job as a nurse.

My appointment with Mr Philip Ahrens was convenient and went smoothly. All the reception staff at Portland Place were friendly and efficient. Dr Lee who and his assistant (Ahmed?) who carried out the ultrasound scan of my shoulder and the delivery of the steroid injection were first class. I have been treated by Mr Ahrens on two previous occasions - 2005 and 2010 - so I knew that he was the specialist I wanted to see on this occasion. Almost one week on and I am feeling the positive effects of my visit last Tuesday.
