I had been suffering from pain in my lower neck over many years, growing in severity to the point I could no longer work or take part in certain physical activities. I was recommended to see Mr Clamp who readily identified degenerative disc disease. I was explained the situation, the prognosis if I did nothing and the beneficial effects of having surgery together with the associated risks. Mr Clamp's manner was professional, approachable, empathic yet direct and a perfect gentleman. He listened to all my concerns and recommended surgery, which he performed on me last year. The surgery was successful and a year later my symptoms have fully resolved and aim able to carry on with my life and all that entails better than I have for many years. There is minimal scarring and the recovery process was uneventful. An amazing professional and a fantastic gentleman. Thank you!

Dr Tan was exceptional throughout our labour. She came in from home during the night and immediately brought a calm, skilled and empathetic presence. She took the time to communicate clearly, never making us feel rushed or pressured, and her measured approach gave us, and importantly other medical staff, the confidence to continue with the birth we had hoped for. Thanks to her expertise and reassurance, we were able to achieve a vaginal birth and avoid a caesarean section which was imminent. What stood out even more was that she kindly came to see us the following day to talk through the labour, answer our questions and help us process what had been a rather emotional experience. Her compassion, professionalism and excellent communication made an enormous difference to our birth experience, and we are incredibly grateful for the care she provided.

I visited Mrs Von Lany twice in June 2026. I was suffering from quite severe dry eye in both eyes, causing me substantial pain and light sensitivity. After some thorough testing she was able to instantly diagnose the problem and provide me with a treatment plan and follow-up appointment to see how I was getting on. She even gave me some samples of the eyes drops I would need going forward, so that i could begin treatment immediately. I found her to be highly professional, knowledgeable and personable. Exeter Eye is a lovely venue with great facilities. The Team on Reception made me feel welcome and both they and Mrs Von Lany were always at the end of the phone if i had any questions and were only too happy to help. My treatment was a success and I highly recommend Mrs Von Lany.

Experience was very good and unbelievable quick and accommodating. The consultant phoned me late afternoon on Monday after reviewing my scan results and I was offered the required procedure either on Friday of the same week or Tuesday the following week. I took the Tuesday appointment but after the procedure it was discovered I would need another procedure and this 2nd procedure was offered to me either on the Tuesday or the Friday of the following week. After the procedure(s) the consultant popped by several times during the day to check on my immediate recovery and chat on the procedure/findings and even stayed late on a Friday to talk while my wife was present. Nurses and all staff were lovely, very friendly and caring.

Mr Goyal is an exceptionally well skilled surgeon. He is approachable, patient and thoughtful. He cares deeply about his patients and the quality of his care. I have been seeing him for 3y. Had two ops, a complex second trab on the same eye, and cataract op. A great communicator, Mr Goyal took the time to explain his plan, the rationale behind it, and gave me a balanced and realistic view of prognosis. He has been available for advice by email or phone between visits which has been extremely helpful. He also liaises with my NHS consultant to make sure my eye care is joined up. I cannot recommend him enough.

This was my first Nuffield experience and the staff were amazing. They were kind and empathetic. For my first MRI and first blood test in a very long time they were patient and explained everything step by step making sure I was comfortable every step of the way it really eased my anxiety. The place was clean and the marine tank created a very calm environment and with the hot chocolate machine as well I forgot I was there for medical reasons.
