I have just returned home after a full hip replacement. We were recommended to St Joseph’s and I can’t speak highly enough of the team and the care I received. Many things stand out. The friendly, yet professional ambience, the obviously good relations and communications across all staff. Although my visit lasted only just over 24 hours, at no time did anything feel rushed or ‘conveyor belt’. Just well organised with a feeling that I was being very well looked after. The room and facilities were first class, comfortable and super clean. The operation itself was clearly explained and went without hitch. There was a lot of experience in that room, not least of the lead consultant and anaesthetist. Recovery was also much quicker than I expected, with excellent follow on from the Physio team and 6 sessions into the future as part of the package. I would finally like to express my thanks to all the staff who have made such a positive difference for me.

The Joint Injection Clinic

A month ago I had the arthrosamid injection. I had never heard of it and initially I went online to find out how others were treating their oesteoarthritis. I found the Joint Clinic quite quickly and was amazed to read that this injection would last about 3 years rather than 3 months for the NHS cortisol injection. My knee was causing a lot of pain especially when the weather changed. I was unable to walk properly, I couldn't walk up or down stairs. My work involves walking and I really thought I would have to retire because of the pain. From day 2 of the injection, I was beginning to walk without as much pain, about 2 weeks later I wasn't limping or experiencing pain at all. It took about 3 weeks to be able to walk up and down stairs without pain. I no longer need anti inflammatory drugs (that was always hit or miss if they would work). I am very pleased with the outcome at the one month mark and I hope my knee pain is no more for years!

I’ve been seeing Mr Shilen Patel for around 10 months for ongoing TMJ and lockjaw issues. From the very first appointment, he was kind, approachable, and took the time to really listen. He arranged detailed investigations, including MRI and CT scans, and clearly talked me through all the treatment options — from mouthguards, Botox, and physiotherapy to surgery — so I always felt informed and reassured. After trying several treatments, surgery was recommended and carried out in November. One month on, Mr Patel has continued to check in regularly, offering excellent aftercare and answering any questions I’ve had during recovery. I’ve had a genuinely positive experience and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Mr Patel to anyone dealing with TMJ problems!

I had an acute pain in my right leg and had difficulty walking. Having had IDD treatment at Osteopath West before for sciatica I called and was given an appointment later that day. On arrival i was given a thorough examination and it was decided that I most likely had a pulled muscle as well as a nerve issue. I had some deep massage on my back and leg followed by an IDD session. The result today is that the pain is considerably better and i can now walk mush better than before. I am grateful for the prompt appointment and the service I received and would recommend Osteopath West to people in a similar position.

Always an absolute pleasure coming to Vermilion, the staff are just on another level. I honestly think you wouldn’t get that kind of treatment anywhere else in the country. Customer service is first class. Everyone, from the admin teams and front of house, to the Drs and Hygienists. Had my third Hygienist appointment with Debbie last week, she is absolutely amazing, always feel better after seeing her (mentally and with a sparkling mouth 😂). Also, Dr Martin Morley is also such a great guy, so easy to talk to and great at what he does. Best dental team, hands down.

He is an extremely professional and courteous man whose knowledge of his profession surpasses that of many others. Throughout my journey of improving my vision, I have been thoroughly impressed by his care, expertise, and professionalism. I would highly recommend him to anyone seeking exceptional ophthalmic treatment.

Dr. Emmanouil Koloutsos

When going in to get a third temporary crown I told Dr Koloutsos that I was not confident the crown would stay in place so was reconsidering my options. He was quite dismissive of this saying they are temporary crowns so are meant to come off easily. This comment was not appreciated. I finally did agree to have the full crown fitted but only after I was given a guarantee by Dr Koloutsos that if the crown falls off in the first year I would receive a full refund of the cost of the treatment.

My daughter had her tonsils removed here last week. The whole experience was amazing. The room that she was brought too was lovely and so clean . The staff were all so nice and put her at ease . She wasn’t scared at all and didn’t want to leave when it was time to go . I couldn’t recommend this place enough. From the catering staff, nurses , anaesthetist and Dr Greg McBride himself , I couldn’t have asked for a nicer bunch of people to care for my daughter.

Easy booking and what I felt were good time slots available. Considering the time the doctor spent on me against the rushed atmosphere of NHS GP services, I felt I got good value for money and a more thorough service. I will use Private GP Extra again if this current issue continues or if I/one of my family have a complex issue that I don't believe the NHS have the time/skill to handle in a standard GP setting.

This was my second consultation with Dr Sonia Chachan. Once again my experience was great. She is incredibly empathetic, attentive, and reassuring. She took the time to truly listen to my concerns, asked thoughtful questions, and explained everything with clarity. Her thoroughness made me feel completely understood and cared for. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a gynecologist.

First time at Reflex 18 and had had good reports from Colchester Harriers. Was seen by Josh Harvey who went through my running history and then took a look at two niggles (ankle and knee). It was great to go through some of the rehab exercises with Josh to make sure I was confident to do these at home. All in all an great experience and Id have no hesitation in recommending Reflex 18 to others.

If you are hard of hearing it can be hard to hear your appointment being called due to the layout of the waiting room (some chairs facing away, some around the corner but I need to sit due to health issues so had no choice in my seat), but staff were polite and toilet/waiting area was very clean.
