Since then, I’ve had an angiogram and two surgeries under his care, and I truly could not recommend him highly enough. His expertise is evident in every interaction — he explains all options clearly, answers questions thoroughly, and ensures you fully understand each decision. My symptoms have now almost completely resolved, and the improvement in my quality of life has been genuinely life-changing. Although the prospect of these procedures was daunting, his calm, confident manner and genuine kindness consistently put me at ease throughout the entire process.

I don’t think there’s ever been another time in my life when I’ve given more than one review (and even then I’ve only done so when I thought whatever the particular activity, service, whatever has been exemplary). I’ll make an exception for Mr Scala and his team by giving a second review. I’ve had various challenges with my eyes over most of my life (at least partly as a result of being very short sighted) and issues related to my eyes scare me silly. Against this backdrop, I cannot recommend Mr Scala and his team more highly - I could go on with various experiences etc, but think it sufficient to simply say I would not go to anyone else by choice … I don’t think there’s anyone better.

Following my initial consultation I was offered a date for my surgery which was only two weeks ahead which completely surprised me as I expected a much longer wait I attended my surgery and was treated with courtesy and respect by all of the staff I encountered I was put at ease both before and during the procedure my surgeon My discharge nurse explained clearly what I needed to do with my medication and also how to keep my eye clean I received a phone call from a nurse the day after my surgery checking that everything was okay. I have nothing but positive things to say about the whole experience and would recommend Newmedica to all of my family and friends.

I recently had surgery at Spire Leicester Hospital. The medical staff were amazing, friendly, informative and they really helped put me at ease throughout my stay. However, the administrative side needs be improved, as it took several weeks of chasing before I finally received my booking confirmation. Additionally, after my large open inguinal hernia operation, I was discharged without being offered a wheelchair and had to walk down from the second floor to leave the hospital, which was difficult so soon after surgery. Overall, excellent clinical care, but room for improvement in administration and patient support on discharge.

Not a good experience for me I’m afraid I was extremely nervous but this was kind of dismissed. The extraction took a very long time and was extremely uncomfortable and I was traumatised and shaking like a leaf. Wasn’t even offered to be able to sit down afterwards or asked if I was okay. I have since had terrible pain and rang the surgery to go back but they told me as the surgeon only comes in once a week which I didn’t know I had to go back to my own dentist which is a drive away. I’m on continual painkillers and Have been up half the night I will not be coming back to this Dentist.

Not being familiar with the area, I had been sent directions by Carrie, the Practice Manager, who met me in the office and made me feel welcome and relaxed. My consultation and examination with Mr Pal was conducted very professionally. His attitude was reassuring and he addressed all my concerns empathetically. He explained the clinical conditions affecting my eyes and provided me with clear instructions about further treatment and follow up.

My coach was understanding, compassionate and a great mentor as well as a coach. She asked really thought provoking questions which helped me to think deeper and come up with solutions that would work for the challenges I was facing due to my ADHD and being Mum to an AuDHD daughter.
