We are extremely grateful to Dr Shalini Chawla for her care and support through our pregnancy and delivery. We came to her with a complex background — a previous emergency C-section and a very strong desire for a VBAC this time. While some other doctors were hesitant or not fully supportive of this plan, Dr Chawla took the time to understand our priorities and supported us in a thoughtful, evidence-based way. Throughout the pregnancy, there were moments of anxiety and during these times Dr Chawla was always available for us. She guided us calmly and clearly on what to do and when to act, which provided enormous reassurance and prevented unnecessary panic. What stood out most was her flexibility and accessibility, even late at night, which gave us immense reassurance during a very anxious decision-making process. As the pregnancy progressed, plans evolved. VBAC remained our preferred plan throughout, but once we reached our agreed backstop date, we understood that an elective C-section would be required. Even then, discussions continued right up to the night before, with Dr Chawla patiently walking us through the options and ensuring we felt fully supported and informed at every step. Ultimately, we did require an emergency C-section, but Dr Chawla handled the situation with exceptional calm and control. She orchestrated the theatre smoothly, communicated clearly, and the surgery itself was excellent. Recovery has been good, which speaks to the quality of the procedure. Beyond the technical skill, Dr Chawla was consistently reassuring, present, and supportive — both during delivery and afterwards. We never felt rushed or dismissed, and she was always there when we needed guidance or reassurance. We would highly recommend Dr Shalini Chawla - her clinical competence, flexibility, and genuine patient support is rare and deeply appreciated.

I wanted to share my experience with Mr Gan in the hope it helps other women who may be facing complex gynaecological surgery, including hysterectomy, or living with severe endometriosis. I have recently had cosmetic surgery at Sancta Maria and i genuinely would not want to go anywhere else…. I may be biased as I work at the hospital but for me regardless of who I was the staff were very professional and gave outstanding care. I always watch how every staff members provide this incredible service to other members of the public but honestly they showed me so much care and compassion throughout my surgery. The staff in all departments - especially recovery and ward as that’s where I spent my time mostly. Also Ashley in outpatients for providing me with an appointment for dressing clinic to put my mind at ease when I accidentally got my dressings wet. I required a caesarean birth because my baby was in the breech position. Stelios was really warm and kind. He offered me a scan on the day to check if my baby had turned the right way around before the surgery. He listened to my birth preferences (delayed cord cutting and skin to skin) and my preferences were respected. I am sure this contributed to the success we have had with breastfeeding and my baby seems very healthy. My incision is also healing well, I did not have any infection or complications and we were able to go home after just staying for one night in the hospital, which I am very grateful for.

Total right hip replacement, felt reassured before, during and after the surgery. Tony was honest about the surgery and totally professional but the outcome has exceeded expectations I feel like a new person. Please put any doubt aside about this surgery, it’s gonna be tough for two weeks but once you reach the other side of that you have cracked it, and after six weeks you won’t believe the journey you have been on. Do the exercises as much as possible, keep moving on those crutches and look forward to a better life.

Paid privately for Hip Replacement, initial appointment was disappointing with an hour wait, and a non interested surgeon. A few blips along the way, upon arrival on surgery day, they had me down for a knee replacement not hip, staff on night shift not the friendliest, and thet x rayed the incorrect hip after the surgery. Day shift were great and surgery went well. I will say I expected more for paying privately however the main thing I've had my surgery instead of the ridiculous wait time on the nhs.
