My knee replacement operation was explained and discussed as Mr Shankar wasnt sure if partial or full replacement was required but he'd get a better understanding once knee was open. We agreed if there was any doubt that full knee was my preference but Id use his experience and skill to decide on best outcome. The surgery was completed with minimum pain only needed pain relief for 3 days post operation, and outside of swelling there was no brusing which the physio said would be down to the skill of surgeon. The care at Spire Hartswood was fantastic pre & post operation. Im two weeks post op and apart from minor swelling, the bend and overall knee look and feel great.

I cannot rate my experience highly enough. Mr. Thakur and Dr. Richard the anesthetist were extremely professional and supportive and took time to clearly explain the procedure and process and answer all of my questions. The nursing staff, Steph, Brian, Natalie and Til were fantastic looking after me post op and were very friendly and supportive. The pharmacy team took great care in explaining my medication and advising on the pain relief regime to follow. Gary from the Physio team was great at explaining the rehab exercises and putting me through my paces to make sure I started my recovery in the best way. A great team, please pass on my thanks.

The reception staff were very warm and welcoming and brought me a cup of coffee Dr Dickenson was as usual very warm and welcoming.. She fully discussed the way forward and proceeded to inject the requested skin filler on my face By the following day when it had settled I was absolutely delighted with the results . I have visited the Coogan Clinic now for over 3 years since arriving in Eastbourne.. Dr Dickenson is wonderful —highly skilled and experienced and very reassuring .. Absolutely amazing, I cannot fault the care and support I have received. I may not be able to climb mountains, but I can carry on with my walking, taking care of myself at the same time. I couldn't have wished for a better Consultant to carry out the surgery and the follow up consultation enabled me to verbally express my gratitude for what he has done. Fit2function is the best physio clinic I have visited. As a sportsman, physio is an important part of my routine for both rehab and prehab. Many of the clinics I have attended don’t accommodate sports and return to play. My experience at Fit2function was great. I saw Harrison, who is an ex athlete and understood my needs well. The equipment is modern and top of the range, and the philosophy is very aligned to returning to sport and having the best possible outcome. I would highly recommend them.

The Spire has excellent facilities (car parking, waiting area, consulting rooms etc) and the reception staff are very attentive and helpful. The “formal check in” using an iPad is an unnecessary hurdle for patients to negotiate. The earlier system of just checking in with the receptionist was much better. My appointment with Dr. Balerdi was on time and a very useful session. Re. Dr. Balerdi himself, my very postive comments are in an earlier section.

I would highly rate not only my visit today with Mr Gowda but the whole hip replacement process, which for me was very daunting never having had any kind of surgery at all in my 69 years, save for wisdom teeth removal. He was professional and courteous and I felt in very safe and knowledgeable hands. I have no hesitation in recommending Mr Gowda to anyone contemplating hip replacement surgery.

From the 1st Visit Dr Ng filled me with huge confidence. The surgery was said to be more complex than normal due to metal work I already had. This wasn’t an issue for Dr Ng who professionally carried out both the 1st surgery (ACL, meniscus and cartilage repairs). Then a second surgery to remove some meniscus after I damaged it again during rehab.
