On arrival I waited in the reception area and there were already 3 other patients waiting for admission. The escort took the first one up and followed with the second and third. On his arrival back in reception he then disappeared through a side door. I thought he probably needed the bathroom but by the time it was 7.35 (and I had been waiting since 7am) I asked reception when I was going to be shown to my room. At which point he phoned the escort who then reappeared. When the nurse came to talk me through everything on admission I had to ask about the emergency call button. She had completely forgotten it and left it on the wall. When I came to put on my theatre gown one of the ties was missing at the neck I was told to just hold it Surely a hospital I am paying so much for can afford another gown?? I gave her my medication and she pushed it into the bedside cabinet and nothing further was done with it until I asked later in the day. I was amazed that the omezrapole had been missed off my medication list. I had to ask for it despite me going through all my medication at both pre- assessment (where I was told it was very important to take) and admission so it was all on the computer. Then, as they hadn’t been given my medication earlier in the day, the pregabalin had not been written up in time and was prescribed to start the following day (also see above about computer listings) I had to insist that I needed it that night. I was never asked if I wanted help to wash or shower so had nothing during my 2.5 days on the ward. And as I was tethered to the bed with a catheter I could not get to the bathroom on my own. Catering - staff were very pleasant but the menu seemed to be very rice based. Also it would have been nice to have a couple of tea/coffee rounds during the day instead of having to bother the nurses by pressing the emergency button to ask for a drink. I kept complaining how dry I was and had difficulty to even talk but I was never offered a saline drip. It took 3 days plus for this to wear off by drinking lots of water which in turn caused a lot of acid reflux from my hiatus hernia - something that has been ongoing since my discharge. The dry mouth also made it very difficult to swallow medication. Physios were very pleasant girls who walked me round the ward and gave me a leaflet about exercises but didn’t actually make me do even the simplest of them. On discharge I was fitted with a catheter. My discharge notes told me to go to a GP in 7 days for removal. Apparently GPs do not provide this service and when I phoned the ward for help the nurse was horrified that I had been given those instructions and that an appointment had not been arranged for me to go back to the Harborne. I am attending tomorrow so I will be interested to see if this all takes place. Overall this is the fourth private hospital I have been in and although the surroundings are probably the best I felt the 'in house' service was probably the worst. This is with the exception of the consultant, theatre staff and Claire (one of the night time nurses)

I have been very happy with my overall experience at Vision Scotland Edinburgh. The staff were both friendly and professional. I was well informed regarding my choices and the procedure. I have been thrilled with the result of the cataract surgery. I was given an appointment very soon after the referral. I would however like to let you know how I felt the experience on the day of the operation could have been improved. Firstly I was not sent the Post Op information which would have been most helpful to read before the procedure. Secondly I got very cold in theatre and was given a blanket but it did take me ages to warm up. It would have been better to have been given a blanket before the procedure started. There is a lot of cold water being used which does add to the chill. Thirdly I was not told to bring sunglasses for the journey home or to bring analogies both of which I would very much appreciated as I lived over a hour away. On the journey home I became extremely uncomfortable. Finally the roof of my mouth and tongue got a little burnt I think by the coffee as they must have been a little bit anaesthetised still when I had the coffee. The coffee however i have to say was absolutely welcome and the best thing along with the toasted teacake. I found it very reassuring to have a telephone number to call which I did use. I also very much appreciate the phone call from the nurse a couple of days post op. I hope you find the above comments of use. I do not wish to criticise as overall it was an extremely good experience and I would and have already recommended Vision Scotland. ( I did tell my neighbour to ask for a blanket!)

Mr Pieri's website states 'loving how you look can transform your whole self'....and boy, is this not an understatement. This surgery has changed my life...as cliche or cringe this may sound, but very true. I had an uplift and enhancement and am overwhelming happy with the results. I spent a LOT of time researching surgeons before finally booking a consultation with Mr Pieri, the only surgeon I wanted to meet with - call it a gut feeling. Mr Pieri talked through everything and answered all of my questions and I knew straight away that I had made the right decision. I received incredible support from Mr Pierii and his secretary, Helen from start to finish. Nicky, my nurse at the hospital was amazing and gave me fantastic care following the surgery. What surprised me most was the healing, I went out for a meal the same evening I had my procedure! I was shocked at how little pain I was in, even though I was prescribed medication, I honestly only used it for 2 days. I am now a bit more than 6 months post surgery and one thing I would say as I googled numerous times every day for the first few weeks following surgery is..trust the process! Follow the guidance given to wear the sports bra all day etc and the boobs will just 'drop and fluff' exactly how I was told. The look is so natural, my boobs look, feel and 'move' so naturally...try as I might, I can't feel the implants. Choosing this surgery was one of the best decisions of my life. I am so much more confident in myself and happier because of that.

I had ALT phallo with Mr Nim Christopher and was admitted for 5 days post-op, and I cannot thank the nursing staff enough for the care I received. Every nurse I encountered was professional, compassionate, and genuinely attentive. They consistently checked on me, explained things clearly, responded quickly whenever I needed help, and treated me with kindness and respect at all times. Their reassurance and calm presence made a difficult hospital stay much more comfortable and less stressful. It’s clear they take great pride in their work and truly care about their patients. The morning Nurses Kate and Erisa were extremely wonderful even though at one point there were so many patients and only 2 of them to take care of all of us, they were encouraging and they set a positive tone for each day. The night shift nurses Mo and Aliesha were reassuring and kind and always present when things felt hardest. Of course ai cannot leave out Alina who was always caring and compassionate throughout my stay. Last but certainly not least I would like the thank Mr Nim for his excellent care and support and Dr Patil for the amazing anesthesia he delivered. They were all like family to me. I’m deeply grateful for everything they did for me. Your professionalism, kindness and dedication did not go unnoticed.

I had an outstanding experience with this osteopath. From the very first appointment, their professionalism and kindness immediately put me at ease. They take the time to listen carefully, explain every step of the process, and make sure you feel fully supported throughout the treatment. Their depth of knowledge is truly impressive. You can tell they are highly skilled and passionate about their work, and they approach each session with precision and confidence. They quickly identified the root of my problem and tailored the treatment perfectly to my needs. The results have been remarkable. I noticed a significant improvement not only in my pain levels but also in my overall mobility and well‑being. It’s rare to find someone who combines such expertise with such exceptional care. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for effective, thoughtful, and truly transformative osteopathic treatment.

Dear Doctor and Team, I wanted to take a moment to sincerely thank you for the outstanding care I received during my gastroscopy. From start to finish, the entire process was made so much easier than I had expected. Dr Hayat was absolutely fantastic — humane, empathetic, and reassuring — which made a huge difference to me. The staff took the time to explain everything clearly, answered my questions patiently, and helped me feel informed and calm throughout. Everyone I encountered was friendly, professional, and genuinely caring. What could have been a very stressful and frightening experience was turned into a positive one, not only for me but also for my partner, who felt reassured by the kindness and clarity shown by the team. Please pass on my thanks to everyone involved. Your compassion and professionalism truly made a lasting impression, and I am very grateful.

I have been under Mr Orlans’ care for almost a year now and have undergone multiple complex surgeries due to an unfortunate recurring retinal detachment. My most recent surgery being the 19th of January for a left cataract, Vitrectomy and removal of silicone oil. Despite the worries and concerns I’ve had, especially given my young age, my mother and I have continuously felt reassured from my consultations with Mr Orlans that every decision made was in the best interests of my health. Even following surgery and knowing the possible potential risks, I left feeling/knowing that I was in the safest possible hands and every risk was worth that extra chance. I am incredibly grateful for Mr Orlans, patience, dedication, expertise and skill. His care has made a profound difference and given me peace of mind.

    1. We were wrong footed by the entrance barrier, but luckily another patient was close to the entrance button. 2. Parking was tight - we had to park in the radiology section, but hoped that would be ok. 3. The surgery was wonderfully light and airy and spatially arranged in such a way that each patient could have space and privacy. 4. The staff i have spoken to on the phone were immensely welcoming and efficient, as were the ladies on the desk on arrival 5. The loos were wonderfully clean and airy. 6. Dr. Johnstone was most welcoming and sympathetic. I can't make the next step work, which is to review Dr. J. On only one visit, my experience was very positive. She was clearly listening to what i was saying, and made a very quick referral, for which I am very grateful.

Mr Lobo's professionalism, skill and experience were evident from the outset of my consultation with him regarding cataract removal with a history of uveitis. Mr Lobo's manner was reassuring and above all he made sure I understood the details of the procedure and the selection of a replacement lens. His communication pre and post op was excellent and I particularly appreciated his prompt reply to emails. The operation itself was painless and Mr Lobo and his team made sure I was comfortable and informed throughout. I had the feeling I was being treated by one of the best in their field and by the results so far I am certain of that. Thankyou Mr Lobo.

I was anxious and didn't know what to expect during my SABR treatment for Prostate Cancer, but during the Planning Scans, it was explained to me what would happen and how to prepare for the treatments. Every stage was well organised, professional, and caring. A dedicated team looked after me very well. The car organised by Genesis picked me up for my appointments, with the same driver each time, making me feel at ease. The treatment sessions were comfortable throughout. I am very grateful to the team who looked after me so well.

The Holep procedure carried out by Matthew Liew has been a complete success. From suffering with urinary hesitation and retention I am now able to lead a completely normal life only needing to visit the toilet every 2 to 3 hours. Within 6 weeks of surgery I was urinating freely with no hesitation and the fear of searching out toilet facilities gone completely. The whole surgical experience from initial consultation to post operative appointments has been exemplary.

Would highly recommend Dr. Barrass. Easy to talk to and explained everything very clearly. Went to see him with some genuine prostate concerns following an MRI Scan and left with a weight off my shoulders. Also a special mention to his PA Jennifer who went above and beyond to get me an earlier appointment and getting all the relevant information delivered to Dr. Barrass in time so that our appointment could be as productive as possible. 5 stars to both.

I had an amazing experience with Dr Nikki Wilson. She took the time to really understand my situation and made recommendations that were specific to me, not a one-size-fits-all approach. I genuinely felt that her focus was on finding the most cost-effective and appropriate solutions for my personal needs, rather than upselling. I left the appointment feeling listened to, cared for, and very well looked after.
