I attended the Neurology Clinic at Cleveland Clinic, Portland Place London for a second medical opinion (covered by my insurance) and I had ALL medical reports with me. The booking process was straightforward, and the reception team were excellent—very responsive and professional, with great customer service. I also appreciated that the clinic arranged for my MRI images to be transferred ahead of my appointment, so the consultant would have access to my medical history. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with how the consultation itself went. I came with up-to-date MRI scans (completed recently through an NHS neuroscience unit), along with relevant medical reports and test results. However, the doctor did NOT properly review my MRI images, stating they were “bad quality,” and instead suggested I pay privately for repeat MRI scans at Cleveland Clinic London 3Tesla MRI scanner (my all mri's were done on 3Tesla scanners). He also recommended another lumbar puncture, again privately, despite the fact that I have already had one. Overall, I left with the strong impression that the focus was on arranging further paid tests rather than reviewing the information already available and providing a clear second opinion. In the end, I did not receive any meaningful second medical opinion, no conclusions were offered, and I felt I had not been listened to. To be fair, Dr Wallace Brownlee was polite, kind, and his manner was professional. The neurological examination was fine. However, I still left without any explanation or diagnostic opinion, despite no recent change in my clinical picture that would obviously justify repeating tests before offering an assessment. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Dr Wallace Brownlee for someone seeking a genuine second opinion.

I had a very good experience with Visio Health when I had recent laser treatment following cataract surgery on both eyes with Ms Sandhu. The cataract surgery, which took place in hospital in July and October, has been very successful. I no longer need glasses after having vision corrective lenses. And I hadn’t realised quite how blurred and sepia my sight had become. My vision is now very clear and bright. It really has positively impacted my life. Everything looks like it did back when I was young. It’s so much more cheerful than that blurry, yellow sight that I had grown so used to. And I am so much more confident when driving. No more night glare. I was really apprehensive and anxious about cataract surgery. So much so that it was decided that I would have the procedure under general anaesthetic. But I can honestly say that despite all the worry the end result is better than I could have imagined. The laser treatment at Visio to improve my sight further with one session of laser treatment was totally painless, very straightforward and uncomplicated. The clinic was very well organised and the staff were all lovely. A very good experience.

Everything was made Clear and scan and xrays all shown and explained to me. I was shown the before and after the surgery. I could see the partial replacement all very interesting to me. It was explained to me that it could take a long time to settle down. The discomfort I have at this present time will heal, all in good time. Thanks to Mr Holton I will soon be back to walking pain free in a little while, which i am looking forward to that. Thank you Mr Holton and your fantastic team. The day team of nurses where lovely and many thanks to them all so very caring and were there for what ever care you needed. I'm afraid the night staff of nurses left a lot to be desired in the lack of care and understanding of the patients needs. The matron and her manager did come and talk to each of us on the ward also the men's wards made complaints also. It wasn't a very pleasant night for quite a few of us by what we heard. As for Mr Holton and his team and the day time nurses all brilliant many many thanks to you all for all your help in making my walking so much better.

I was taken into a room that was obviously not cleaned after the last patient as their clothes were still there. My postop instructions were to stay warm. I was absolutely freezing after surgery because the nurses turned the heat down to suit another patient. I was on the end bed and no one came to check on me for ages so I couldn’t get another blanket. I told the nurses at least three times that I don’t eat dairy. I then had cow’s milk and dairy butter placed in front of me which is offensive. The nurses paid a lot of attention to the person next to me, but rarely checked on me. I felt overlooked. By this point, I just wanted to go home but again they prioritised other patients so I was late to leave.

I had three recent hip operations with Mr Thomas White. I was awake under spinal anaesthetic and felt completely safe from the start, as it was clear he was very much in control in the operating theatre. His calm confidence and steady manner put me at ease, especially as I was dealing with a huge personal loss and felt very vulnerable. I am now pain free after suffering from severe debilitating osteoarthritis for many years. He is a brilliant surgeon and I would not hesitate to see him again. I would also wholeheartedly recommend him to my family and friends if the need arises. I will always be grateful for his dedication and everything he has done for me. He has changed my life.

Main reception lovely and consultant was great. Imaging receptionist was blunt and frankly dismissive. Now paying invoice for consultation the original price was quoted on phone I found it’s £20 more which isn’t much but when you are self funding every £20 counts! When I complained I was directed to the fees as outlined on my original appointment letter which state it would not exceed £150 which it obviously doesn't but it wasn’t explained that the figure quoted on phone was only an estimate. Pricing should be communicated more clearly for those who don’t have insurance. So far, apart from consultant, a disappointment.

I was put totally at ease by Dr Bashkis calm & very kind manner ..he explained & diagnoses what I had been suffering with & offered me a good treatment plan ….he took the time & trouble of explaining everything so well & answered any questions I had with such clarity & confidence which immediately put me at ease ..he offered me comprehensive blood tests which I received within a week & he kindly followed up with a telephone appointment to explain all the resits & plan of action ..I’m very grateful to Dr Bashki for all his kind & caring help ..thank you so much

Very positive experience. Staff very kind and attentive. Just feel that some explanations and answers to my questions needed repeating to me as I was a bit sleepy after the operation and hadn’t fully understood or taken the instructions in properly. I think it would be beneficial if staff kept checking that patients had fully understood what had been relayed to them.
