I have visited St Joseph’s a number of times for consultations and have always had a good experience. However as a day case today there was quite a wait for the appointment to begin. It was uncomfortable in the waiting area with a cold draught blowing in through sliding doors. The letter stated the admission was at 5pm but were only called in at 5.40pm. The procedure went well and the nurses/assistants were very friendly. The facility was clean and clutter free. However the consultant then went into this busy waiting area and informed my relative, who accompanied me, with the results of the procedure in front of other patients and staff. This was highly inappropriate and the hospital needs to ensure there are private areas to discuss medical information in future. For a privately paying service one would expect there to be better controls and more discretion to be provided for medical procedures.

Professor Richard Field

This is my second hip replacement with Professor Field. My right hip was replaced two years ago and I had the left hip done this time. Professor Field is an excellent surgeon. I am amazed at my mobility, minimal swelling and minimal pain following surgery. The incision is small and very neatly sutured together. Professor Field carries out anterior hip replacements which means that muscles do not need to be cut and recovery is much quicker. Whereas other surgeons who do this procedure may have done hundreds, Professor Field has done thousands. He explains things well and every part of the treatment and recovery is science led. He pays a lot of attention to outcomes and his practice is based on this.

Nurse caused me to bruise during a painful blood test. I always have trouble with veins appearing during tests and told the nurse which one tends to work the best; nurse insisted on going for a different one, causing pain and bruising. Nurse also used clumsy and offensive language when talking about another patient: “A man came in the other day - he’s a ‘they’ - he…”. Given that your clinic markets your service extensively to trans and non-binary people, I find it surprising that your staff wouldn’t see a problem with openly and deliberately misgendering a customer. Please do better to avoid making customers like me feel alienated.

I recently met with Dr. Hartley regarding my father’s upcoming TAVI procedure. He was extremely thorough and took the time to review my father’s medical history in detail. I appreciated how patient and attentive he was throughout the consultation, especially as I needed to translate everything for my father. There was no rush, and he explained each step clearly and honestly, highlighting both the benefits and the risks. His thoughtful and calm approach helped us feel informed and supported during what is a very sensitive time. I’m grateful for the care and professionalism he showed during our visit.

My visit for my hip operation was very calming, no stress involved as it was an operation. The nursing staff (Liam) was very helpful with information about my procedure timetable. After my operation I was looked after by 2 further nurses (Jan & Yvonne). They looked after my pain medication during the.night as well as the rest of my needs. Couldn’t have asked for better support, many thanks to them. The physio was round the next morning with crutches so I could walk and instructions on what I could and couldn’t do. Again very supportive which put me at ease.

Absolutely amazing, I cannot fault the care and support I have received. I may not be able to climb mountains, but I can carry on with my walking, taking care of myself at the same time. I couldn't have wished for a better Consultant to carry out the surgery and the follow up consultation enabled me to verbally express my gratitude for what he has done. I am totally in a very good space both with my mental health being the best it's been for a long time and the fact that I am mobile without pain. Thank you once again from a very happy me!

Sam Wilde did an amazing job on my hip. I had a steroid injection and an extremely gloomy prognosis from the consultant with regard to osteoarthritis. Without Sam I would have gone into a deep depression! Sam talked me through a programme of rest post the steroid injection followed by a slow return to exercise with various adaptations. A year and a half later I am back to exercising 6 times a week with (so far) no issues other than the odd twinge from my hip. I am incredibly grateful and can't rate the treatment I got highly enough.

It is always a pleasure to see Mr Mokawem. It has been my experience that his appointments usually run late, which is a little annoying. However, I feel terrible in criticising him in this regard as I know it occurs largely because he is so committed to give his patients all the time necessary to provide the explanations reassurances and advice that they are seeking. He has a wonderful "bedside" manner and is in my opinion the consummate professional.

I’m around 6 months out from having had upper and lower blepharoplasty surgery with Ms Hawkes. The results are very natural and it’s not obvious that I’ve had surgery at all, rather, I look refreshed and less tired. Being Chinese-English, I was worried I might not look like “me”. However, Ms Hawkes put me at ease and delivered amazing results whilst preserving my natural eye shape.

I know he’s offered me injections into my SI joints which I really Hope it can take some Pain away also I appreciate mr Seewal trying to help.

He is so re-assuring and really helps with allaying any fears and worries that you have about the unknown. He is also very responsive as is his assistant Michelle. Between them they have made the last 4 weeks far more bearable than they otherwise would have been.

Initially I went to the London clinic hospital, but was redirected to the correct building.. Again, slight confusion for me in Filling in the registration form, which I then failed to hand to the consultant. I was again not sure where to wait as clinic D and E are on the same floor. This was all resolved by having an excellent interview with my chosen consultant

I have been working with Dr England for around a year now on various issues that have gone hand in hand with my menopause. Going into busy Christmas season last year, I literally did not want to leave my bed and I white knuckled through various business and social functions, this year I feel 80% better and am excited to have some fun!
