I went to my consultation with some trepedation as I didnt know what to expect but I was quickly put at ease once the consultation began. I was impressed with the detailed checks and scans that were carried out and everything was clearly explained at each stage. I was quiete surprised to be told that I wasnt ready for treatment at this stage and that any improvement that they could make for my reading vision, could potentially, make my distance vision slighly worse than it is at the moment. i was really impressed at the honestly and professionalism of the Consultant who gave me his honest opinion and did not try and sell me a procedure that I didnt need. For me this is very comendable in this day and age, Perhaps in a number of years time my situation will have changed and I will not hesitate to return to Cathedral for further advive/ analysys.

I can’t believe I have been sent a message asking how my appointment went and asking to rate my experience I attended my appointment to have my procedure done, the doctor went through details that had already been disgusted and proceeded to tell me that I wouldn’t be able to get the arranged procedure done as she was leaving and from a professional point of view she could not do it as she would not be there for my follow up appointment. So I’m still wondering where the professionalism was when no one contacted me to inform me of this only to be turned away after I drove an hours journey to get to my oppointment and an hour home again. A simple phone call would have been professional. This was not that the doctor was off sick or something last minute, she was leaving and was very blasé about it. Absolutely no professionalism here at all

The lady I had an appointment with was so, so knowledgeable. She had the answers for everything which was such a relief after spending 3 months trying other nutrients and supplements and not getting anywhere. The stress of that was getting pretty unbearable , but now I have a clear path of recommendations to follow. I can’t stress how grateful I am. Things are finally looking up! Such a relief! I arrived early as I had been unsure of the volume of traffic at that time of day. I saw my consultant at the time that I had expected to see her. The consultation was exactly as I would have expected from previous visits...she was kind and polite and every inch a professional. She was clear in her explanations, asked my views on the treatment and answered every question clearly. The procedure required that I remained on site for a while and, when it became necessary, she saw me again to revisit the treatment plan. A totally helpful experience and I have no reservations in recommending both the Nuffield and my consultant to friends and family.

Car parking can be a problem. There are some local side streets with the odd space or Sainsbury is about a 20 minute walk, think you get about 3 hours. I had my operation on a Saturday and the place seemed very quiet and peaceful, one member of staff said it's more chaotic in the week. Parking was easy at 7.30am on Saturday but I had been dropped off anyway. There are buses that stop nearby from Macclesfield bus station but I haven't tried them. It's lovely to have your own room, particularly if you're a very sensitive person. The staff on the whole treat you with respect.

I left the appointment optimistic that i was receiving. an answer to a problem that my GP had been unable to explain let alone offer treatment for. I an hopeful that this treatment will prove successful, but should that not be the case Dr Maslin has left the door open for me to return for further treatment.

The assessor was lovely and encouraging. I do feel the format is unnecessarily stressful and the machines appear archaic. There is always a problem getting the heart rate monitor to link. The face mask tastes of public swimming pool and hinders breathing. On the other hand the data gained is invaluable.
