My consultant Hugh O’Kane was so lovely excellent communication skills empathy and he listened to me , which some consultants would need to have a refresher course on dealing with patients. The anaesthetist ( sorry i can’t remember his name an Indian gentleman again so lovely) and the nurses in theatre were all very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the sedation was not great effect but got through. Recovery nurse Alex’s was very attentive & had a very caring way . Transferred to ward 3 Bernadette the nurse and Sinead & Sarah ( hopefully I have the correct names) all excellent A really lovely friendly member of the catering team Gillian came to see if I would like something to eat at that time I did not , but she Came k later to check & made the most delicious toasted sandwich. I had buzzed for the nurse as I was in a lot of pain behind my left knee she gave me liquid paracetamol, the pain got worse i asked for the compression stocking to be removed, the problem was that the stocking had not been pulled up straight and therefore it had “ marked my ankle very deeply “ with the result that the circulation would have been effected. My leg felt “Dead or asleep “ I felt afraid but the staff where lovely, Hugh came to see me around 8.30 pm had a conversation with my son in England and the plan was to stay (but before this they where happy to let me go home Kelly the manager came to speak to me as this was no fault of mine they I asked “in a scenario such as mine was there not a plan B in place “ to which she responded “0 yes and a plan b c & d “ ) So thankfully the outcome was resolved, I was to stay Hugh would see me in the morning. The night staff Keira & a girl called you I’m think the other health care assistant was Sharon hopefully this is correct but all excellent care. Hugh came in to see me just after 7am very attentive,examined my leg, I said that the pain was not as severe as the night before & I was happy to go home, “to which he replied if your happy so am I “ ( if only more consultants had his way ) he said I was not to worry re the financial situation re the over night stay Over all I am glad that we resolved the situation.

I recommend Dr Dipa Jayaseelan, a neurologist, without reservation. I saw her very recently for a parasthesia condition which I had wrongly decided might be a symptom of diabetes. She is self-evidently confident, patient, thorough and seemingly more than happy to take whatever time is necessary to answer your questions and provide explanations which are comprehensive and notably lacking in the over-simplification or condescension that is sometimes a feature of advice proffered by specialist medical consultants. She was prepared to offer a view (subject to scans and blood tests) as to the most likely causes of my condition, and carefully explained the nature, consequences and potential treatment for each possibility. I have no doubt that she had many time and other pressures on her, and may well have been tempted to defer the discussion until results had been obtained, but there was not the slightest hint of any of this. She is a credit to the Cleveland Clinic and the medical profession generally. If you need to consult a neurologist, Dr Jayaseelan is without a doubt amongst the best.

I took my daughter for a blood test today with Dr. Nimah Bholah, and we had an outstanding experience. My daughter has had difficult and painful blood draws in the past, so she was quite nervous. But Dr. Bholah was incredibly reassuring, gentle, and patient throughout the whole process. To our surprise, my daughter felt no pain or discomfort at all, it was the most relaxed she has ever been during a blood test. Dr. Bholah explained everything clearly, helped her feel at ease, and showed real care and professionalism. My daughter even said she would happily come back to see the same doctor again whenever she needs blood work. That alone says everything about the quality of care we received. I attended for surgery - all staff were very pleasant and helpful and provided good patient care. My pre- surgery journey was a little different to surgical journey. I received a call pre-op call 4 weeks prior to surgery to advise of the date and cost of surgery followed by a text. I did not receive any formal communication or. Letter or email to confirm the surgery date and breakdown of the self funding costs. I have subsequently learnt that I have been overcharged for the surgery and the consultant is taking this up with the hospital .. at present I have not made a formal complaint about this

Attending appointments at HCA at the Shard is always smooth. Its convenient location makes it my preferred clinic. Two points to mention, or areas for improvement: - Broken automatic glass door, it's been broken for awhile, unsure why not fixed yet. - The reception staff at the main reception downstairs were snacking on prawn cocktail crisps whilst attending visitors which I thought lacked professionalism.
