MR LAMBERT SAVED ME (Enrico's testimonial)
My name is Enrico, I am a 25 year old who had been suffering from constant rear shoulder pain (right shoulder) since 19 years old. For years I had struggled with intense DEEP shoulder pain in the back of my shoulder. Everything had caused intense pain! Wearing jackets, pouches, rucksacks, running, weight lifting, swimming.
As a young man I was troubled deeply by this and was in CONSTANT mental and physical Pain due to this.
Over the 6 year span, I had done 4 Ultrasounds, 2 MRI's , 1 MR Arthrogram, 2 steroid injections, done countless physio sessions and visited an osteopath to NO AVAIL. I was told my shoulder was completely healthy, no sign of deterioration and I just needed to strengthen my rotator cuff.
In 2024, aware that I will have to step up my treatments if I ever wanted to fix this, (before I saw Simon Lambert) I had booked a consultation with a well known and highly rated shoulder orthopaedic through Nuffield Health. He advised an MR arthrogram, which had come back with no evident damage. He had noted there was nothing wrong with the shoulder, declared I was hypermobile and sent me to physio.
After months of reluctant physio (I had done physio since 19 and knew it wasnt the answer) I had booked an appointment with another orthopaedic consultant - again with almost perfect ratings on here. This individual had completely agreed with the initial consultation that there was nothing wrong and I was just hypermobile (they said I would eventually grow out of this). This however did not make sense to me as all my other joints felt completely ok.
Feeling rather defeated I had carried on with my physio, feeling I would never get through this and have a normal painless shoulder I become hopeless. As things didnt improve the second orthopaedic had took my case to a South West regional surgeons meeting, explained my situation in an attempt to find a working solution with 15/16 other surgeons. ALL THE ORTHOPAEDICS HAD AGREED THAT THEY WOULD NOT OPERATE ON ME. I was too young to have a deteriorating shoulder and there was 'nothing' wrong with me that a surgery would repair. Plus many surgeons wouldn't go near a hypermobile shoulder.
You can only imagine the impact this would have on a young man who just wanted to live a normal life. I was devastated to put it mildly.
I did not give up, I had done further research and stumbled upon Mr Lambert.
Having a lack of faith due to my previous experiences with this, I had studied Mr Lambert and his work before I had booked the initial consultation. I had studied his reviews and was fascinated by how sincere his client testimonials were, it seemed he was an individual who just wanted to help people get back to their normal lives. His mannerisms and knowledge in his youtube videos had amazed me and he seemed a true master in his craft.
I booked the initial consultation.
I cant put into words the contrast in compassion between Mr Lambert and the previous orthopaedics I had seen. Mr Lambert was patient, humble and kind.
He had done a physical assessment of my shoulder in the consultation and reviewed the results of my previous scan. He put my mind at ease immediately, he understood how tough this journey was for me and could see my emotion.
He noted that from my symptoms his experience had alluded that it was likely that there was some form of structural damage even though the scans didn't clearly point to that.
He said the only way to know for sure was to perform an investigation surgery (arthroscopy) to find out. (To many a surgery was something to avoid however I was so determined to fix this that I was ecstatic to think we were one step closer to figuring this out!)
We had therefore moved forward with the investigation surgery, Mr Lambert and his Anaesthetist (Dr Picard) were superb before and after the surgery. As this was my first surgery I was evidently very nervous and they had made me feel relaxed.
Post surgery Mr Lambert had come into my recovery room and after making sure I was ok, disclosed the results of this surgery.
I had indeed had a 7-11 o'clock rear labrum tear on my right shoulder. The shoulder capsule was also very very loose. He would need to perform a rear stabilisation surgery that consisted of a labrum repair and a tightening of the capsule also known as a capsular shift.
I was over the moon to see an end in sight!
A couple months later (April 2025) we did the surgery (went perfectly) and I am currently over 7 months into my recovery.
It has been a slow process of physio but `I can now see a humongous difference to pre-surgery. I can finally wear jumpers and bags and can slowly get back into physical training, I have not had any flare ups in the last month and not in that constant deep pain!
I still have a little way to go but I am so grateful that Mr Lambert took the chance to help me when so many had not.
I am eternally grateful to this man. This man is not only an experienced professional but a true gentleman. I would choose him every time!
Thank you so much Mr Lambert.
You have helped me more than you could ever realise.
Forever grateful
Enrico
