It would be helpful to add the following to your briefing: after surgery - we will offer to help you to a taxi or to the taxi rank, if you do not have a person to accompany you (I went downstairs on my own and had to find a taxi - as the rank was not manned) Worth considering clear plastic, wrap around glasses for walking/cycling in windy areas/or where likely to be grit in the air Clear some space in your fridge for the eye drops which will need to be refrigerated If you are travelling invest in a portable coo lbag, with icepack to keep eye drops at the required temperature tell people ahead of time no eye make up on the day or for a month post op / swimming hair washing will be tricky for a few days, so consider dry shampoo explain to people what is normal in terms of recovery day by day over the subsequent days post surgery explain to people what to do, if despite taking the drops, there is a feeling of grit in eyes explain to people - if it is normal or not to see halos or to see with a soft focus - perhaps have images, which are shown ahead of time provide youtube video with how to insert drops - have practise drop session on a pre visit, with non irritant drops, to enable the technique to be mastered The person who provided the medicines did not go through the 'knuckle technique' which is on the document provided, trying to master this when your eye sight is recovering is not straightforward Suggest that patients have ibrufen 200 and or paracetemol at the ready suggest setting alarm on phone at regular intervals for drop taking

I was diagnosed with gallstones and suffered with many infections. I had many admissions in hospital and had attempted surgery. They could not remove my gallbladder due to being stuck to my bowel. When in hospital I was told the only surgeon who could possibly do my surgery was Mr Karamanakos. I visited him in his private clinic and I was pleasantly surprised by his kind nature and professionalism. He took his time to review my scans and plan my procedure. He explained in details what he will do and what I should expect. On the day of the surgery he explained again the surgery and answered all of my questions. The operation was successful and done with small cuts. My recovery was smooth and fast. Mr Karamanakos was regularly checking me and on our final appointment he reassured me of the excellent result. I am so grateful to him and his secretary. I was very nervous but made my journey pleasant. Thank you so much.

I would rate my overall experience 10 out of 10 From the moment I arrived I was treated courteously and professionally. Julia and her assistant treated me with great care and consideration, calmly advising each stage of my treatment and checking I was comfortable and happy to carry on. Dee in reception is a treasure, first appearances are so important to a business, she welcomes you with a cheery "putting one at ease" smile. The reception area and treatment rooms are absolutely spotless. I have been using OSD Dental Dept since 2017 & I will continue doing so, I would not hesitate in recommending OSD Dental Dept to anyone who may ask.

Professional, caring and respectful staff. I have already completed a survey which pointed out two negatives amongst an otherwise perfect experience. I was not offered any pain relief the first night after my op, which I understand I should have asked for. However it is known that everyone experiences pain at this point so would have thought pain relief would have been automatic. Also, while I was having a procedure the nurse put a 'No Entry' sign on my door but a member of the catering staff knocked and entered. I did call to come in but presumed it was a nurse.

After I had the required surgery by Mrs Mathews, the following day was a revelation brightness and visibility that I had not seen in years.

It turned out to be a double hernia and he found another one but all was sorted out at the time. It is now six weeks since the operation I can say I have had very little pain and amazed at how small the cuts are on my stomach where he carried out the operation. Very pleased I found Mr Dutta and not waited for NHS which would probably be anther year or more.

Dr Chen came to meet me personally in the waiting room and escorted me to his office. He was friendly and showed a genuinely interest in my concerns of my eye condition.. He explained my options of certain treatment. I will be having a follow up appointment to see if the medication has worked. Overall a stress free experience.

I broke my collarbone and my shoulder blade in the summer, the NHS were extremely slow whereas Vish saw me on the same day I contacted him, and had me in for surgery a week later putting an end to my nightmare. It didn’t take very long at all to recover from what was quite a nasty break. Hopefully I won’t need him again but I know exactly where I’ll go if I do!
