Excellent bedside manner with a true desire to get to the bottom of a problem. Free from the often occurring "I am so brilliant vibes" that I at times got from other consultants. Refreshing down to earth, approachable, very friendly. Most importantly, excellent listening skills, does not try to convenience you of a diagnosis after only hearing a quarter but appears to be thorough before making up his mind. Excellent communicator, who gets a patient fully involved, showing pictures to explain and explaining what he sees on a screen. I initially was a bit apprehensive thinking, hmmm has not got 3 decades of experience like some practitioners I saw in the past. On reflection, a good thing, still greatly motivated to make a difference and passionate about what he does. Deos not leave you feel watching the clock (he went over time, thank you) or rushed. Overall so far a positive experience (first consultation). I usually don't leave long feedbacks but if someone "goes the extra mile", so will I. Most importantly, if you had negative experiences before with consultants causing you pain/flare ups in the night and following day(s) due to handling you roughly during an examination, then give Dr Raiman a try. He very carefully moved my limbs with utmost consideration during the necessary examination, which helps building trust.

Mr Darmarajah Veeramootoo

General Surgeon

Mr Veeramootoo was the surgeon for my procedure to fix an inguinal hernia. The procedure was carried out at Spire Clare Park Hospital in mid-December 2025. I met with Mr Veeramootoo for a consultation in October and then again on the morning of my procedure. During these meetings he clearly explained what would happen during the procedure and he answered all my questions. Mr Veeramootoo visited me once more, when I had recovered from the general anaesthetic and confirmed that the procedure had gone smoothly. I was able to return home the same day. In the first week following the procedure, I was fortunate in experiencing very little real pain and the general discomfort in the area of the procedure had largely gone by the end of the second week. I regained my mobility very quickly and was able to walk multiple miles without discomfort by the end of the first week. Now, four weeks after the procedure, I feel largely back to normal, my body providing only occasional reminders that I shouldn't be doing anything too strenuous. Overall, I have a very positive view of the care I received. I wish to extend my thanks to Mr. Veeramootoo and to all of the staff who were involved in my treatment and care.

Walking into Spire hospital at Manchester, I was greeted by really good reception staff who listened to what I said and then made it happen. It felt very well organised. Into the wards/clinics for treatment, I was again greeted by friendly, confident staff who quickly put me at ease and explained what was to be carried out. All of my tests/treatments were carried out very professionally, on time and with care and respect. I felt comletly at ease throughtout. 5 Stars in every respexct for the clinical staff and Spire Manchester. Bad Experiencies. Dealing with the Spire Online/ Phone back office and Booking System. It was diabolical in all aspects. It appeared to be very dis-jointed and not able to pass information on internally nor take notice of what I told them. I received meaningless paperwork that bore little resemblance to what was to be done and its timeline. The night before treatment, around 8 p.m., I even received an email that told me all my procedures/ tests were to be carried out in Liverpool, not Manchester. Very poor level communications from Spire admin. very bad experience for me.

Mr Finnigan was very gently spoken, and he helped me feel calm and safe. He sppke about what would happen in my operation and spoke me through it all. At all times he asked if I had any questions, and I felt happy and comfortable to ask whatever I needed. Or asked for more information also. He was very kind and answered everything so I could understand. I felt very safe to have Mr Finnigan as my consultant, and I am extremely happy with my surgery which went very well. In my appointment following my operation, i was happy to show him I had full movement of my knee joint and it was repairing well. I would definitely tell any of my family of friends to use Mr Finnigan, and the Spire Manchester Hospital. I also would like to shout out and thank every member of staff, from the porters to administrators, to nurses and all the way up to the Consultants, for the way they looked after me. Asked to be 15 mins early for scan, but then not called until 30 mins or so after time of appointment without any prior indication of running late (perhaps because it was at 6pm ). Head scanner was still busy so junior radiologer kindly chatted to me for 15 mins after I'd changed to kill time. Having been told it would take 15 mins, scan took about 45 mins and team forgot to talk to me or put music on despite me saying I was a bit claustrophic (but can get by ok). Then at 8pm, no doubt in rush to scan next person, they didn't remove cannula so i wandered around to find another staff member to do that who happily obliged. Not a major problem but not up to Cleveland usual standards. Staff were all very friendly though, but perhaps clinic shouldn't book in patients at end of day if they can't really handle them properly.
