Admin efficiency Things didn't get off to a great start when there seemed to be an issue regarding what my insurance would cover, even though I had received two confirmations from the insurer over the phone and one confirmation by email. I felt a bit like a criminal and that I was lying about the treatment being covered. In the end, the insurer had to phone Practice Plus direct to sort it out, because no-one would believe that I was telling the truth. I've never come across this problem before at the Spire or the Nuffield. Usually the admin trail works very smoothly. Cleanliness The carpet in the waiting area is dirty and is covered in tea/coffee stains. There were pubic hairs on the toilet seat in one of the toilets by the waiting area. Not great at all. Waiting Time I am a private patient and I usually use the Spire in Bristol or the Nuffield, which run to time. My appointment for an injection was 30minutes late. Unacceptable. Staff To be fair, some of the staff are lovely. But some of the staff are downright rude. When I went to speak to one of the receptionists after waiting for my appointment for over 20minutes, I simply asked to check that I was on the system. The answer "yes". Oh I said, it's just that I haven't been called yet. Is there a delay? The answer "yes" - and a roll of the eyes to say "yes and your problem with that is??" I have to have another appointment at some point, so let's hope that my next experience is better.

I recently had an appointment with Dr. Ajai Seth, and I can't recommend him highly enough! From the moment I walked in, he took the time to listen to everything I had to say, which made me feel truly valued as a patient. Having had previously negative experiences with surgical doctors, I was pleasantly surprised by Dr. Seth’s holistic approach. He not only focused on my knee issues but also inquired about my diet, nutrition, lifestyle, and exercise training. This comprehensive assessment helped me feel more at ease and confident in my treatment plan. I was particularly concerned about a course of knee injections I needed, but Dr. Seth ensured the procedure was completely pain-free. Additionally, the administrative team at the clinic were kind, professional, and exceptionally helpful, making the entire experience smooth from start to finish. Overall, I give Dr. Ajai Seth a full 5/5 stars for his expert opinion, advice, and treatments. He will be my go-to sports doctor whenever I have an injury. Thank you, Dr. Seth!

This whole experience has been rubbish. One of the questions asked if I had ever had polyps, which I had but 15 years ago, and because I clicked yes, recommended me as not suitable for screening...a lot can happen in 15 years, and it didn't ask me how long ago it was. The form was clunky to use and complete. In the results letter it said if I still wanted screening despite my results, to go to my results page. However when I went to that page it gave no options to select screening. It showed a Submit button on the results page, but would not let me proceed as I had not selected a service, however there were no services to select. The results letter gave me a link asking for feedback, either a quick survey or a detailed survey. When I clicked the detailed one it came up with an Error404 message. When I clicked the quick survey, it asked me questions about recent visits, were the staff friendly, was the practice clean etc, instead of asking any questions about my experience with the recent cancer screening survey...they were completely irrelevant.

I had cataract surgery on both eyes on 4th December 2025 and l was discharged today, 12th January 2026. I'm so pleased to say l don't need to wear glasses or contact lenses any more. From start to finish, my experience at Freedom Vision Chelmsford was exceptionally good - and my end result is superb vision. - more than l could ever have hoped for. Colours are radiant and bright, and probably the biggest bonus for me is feeling so much more confident driving at night. After undergoing rigorous tests and scans , the actual procedure is very quick and painless. All the staff, without question were delightfully kind people and I'd like to thank them all individually, if only l knew their names. But in particular, l'd like to thank Nicola who guided me patiently and expertly throughout the whole procedure, and a massive thank you to Mr Hove , my surgeon, for being such a genius. If you are contemplating cataract surgery, l urge you to go for it - don't be scared - you won't regret it!

At 20 weeks, Marta identified a serious issue with the pregnancy and acted quickly and calmly to ensure it could continue safely. We truly believe we might have lost our baby had she not recognised it when she did. Marta cared not only for the wellbeing of the pregnancy, but also for both mum and baby, always with a deeply humane and compassionate approach. Below is my review I left on the website . Feel the need to update this for future patients. From the min I arrived I was greeted with first class service and wouldn’t change a single thing. The level of care was outstanding and Dr Matar made me feel like I was in exceptional hands prior to operation making me feel so at ease while in pre op room, I also have to say the staff prior to op was lovely making me lose any nerves I had prior to the operation. Can’t thank the whole team enough for the level of service I received . Visited physio today 2.5 weeks after surgery and yet again the service received from walking through the door to walking out was exceptional thank you. Keep up the fantastic work and hope the whole team have a wonderful Christmas Visited physio a further twice since above and again outstanding service

On my last visit, there was a welcoming face at the desk who immediately greeted me. The place was clean and warm, and it was lovely to see the residents walking about and engaging with the staff and me. Banksfield has always been an extremely welcoming home. The staff are always friendly and approachable. The home is clean and warm, and my mother's needs are always met. The management is easy to approach and speak with about any issues or concerns. They have dealt with recent difficult events with an extreme professional manner, and have reinforced my belief that my mother is in the right place, receiving the right care. I trust their judgement and feel there is a strong partnership between the staff and me to ensure my mother's every need is met.

Hospital was dirty. Room was dirty. Was provided with a pillow that was fully stained yellow on one side with no pillow cover. One of the nurses saw it when he turned it over but I had already been lying on it for hours. Went to the surgery without any pillow only to wake up to another stained pillow without any cover. Found a toenail on the bed. Very unhygienic and was not comfortable. Staff were ok. Food received was not what I ordered, so left without eating anything. Will only be coming back for my second operation because it is the surgeons only practice that is close to where I live, otherwise would not be returning. Hygiene is most important in these environments and it was not to par at all. Worse than NHS.

Nuffield Health The Manor Hospital Oxford

The Manor Hospital appeared clean, pleasant environment and staff were friendly. There is however one major issue - Car Parking. I nearly missed my appointment despite arriving 35 minutes prior. The car park does not appear adequate for the volume of patients and staff. A vehicle had been parked and blocked the car park, presumably because they thought were going to miss their appointment. This was resolved by creating a one way system which finally allowed me to, by luck, get a space. As an improvement it might be good if when booking, the booker tells the patient of possible alternative car parks in the area that they might have to use?

I was referred to Mr. Perera through our private insurance company Aviva. From the start Mr. Perera was welcoming and following X rays, discussed treatment and corrective surgery for my bunion problem and my toes. He went through the surgery procedure, explaining clearly what he would do and what to expect after the surgery. On the day of surgery he went through everything again with me, prior to the operation. I was kept in overnight and have had several follow up outpatient appointments. I would highly recommend Mr. Perera for his excellent bedside manner, knowledge and professionalism.
