I would like to express my deepest gratitude and admiration for Miss Elaine Scott, who has been an exceptional gynecologist and obstetrician throughout one of the most important journeys of our lives. I was under Miss Elaine Scott’s care even before pregnancy, when my husband and I were just starting to plan it. From the very beginning, she guided us with great care, clarity, and professionalism. She then managed my entire pregnancy and delivery, and on December 19th, under her calm guidance and outstanding expertise, our first child — a healthy baby boy — was safely born. Miss Elaine Scott is a true professional. From the first appointment to the moment we held our son in our arms, we felt 100% trust in her knowledge, experience, and decisions. Her approach made this journey not only safe, but also peaceful and reassuring. What could have been stressful instead became a beautiful, calm experience that lasted more than a year — all thanks to her attentive and compassionate care. I would also like to warmly mention her assistant Lucia, who was equally attentive, friendly, responsive, and always ready to answer any questions. Her support and positive attitude made every interaction even more pleasant. If we are blessed to have another child in the future, there is absolutely no doubt — we would choose Miss Elaine Scott again without hesitation. This was a truly wonderful journey in the most caring and professional hands. Highly recommended from the bottom of our hearts.

Admin efficiency Things didn't get off to a great start when there seemed to be an issue regarding what my insurance would cover, even though I had received two confirmations from the insurer over the phone and one confirmation by email. I felt a bit like a criminal and that I was lying about the treatment being covered. In the end, the insurer had to phone Practice Plus direct to sort it out, because no-one would believe that I was telling the truth. I've never come across this problem before at the Spire or the Nuffield. Usually the admin trail works very smoothly. Cleanliness The carpet in the waiting area is dirty and is covered in tea/coffee stains. There were pubic hairs on the toilet seat in one of the toilets by the waiting area. Not great at all. Waiting Time I am a private patient and I usually use the Spire in Bristol or the Nuffield, which run to time. My appointment for an injection was 30minutes late. Unacceptable. Staff To be fair, some of the staff are lovely. But some of the staff are downright rude. When I went to speak to one of the receptionists after waiting for my appointment for over 20minutes, I simply asked to check that I was on the system. The answer "yes". Oh I said, it's just that I haven't been called yet. Is there a delay? The answer "yes" - and a roll of the eyes to say "yes and your problem with that is??" I have to have another appointment at some point, so let's hope that my next experience is better.

The Royal Free London Private Patients Unit

Nurses and clinicians very friendly and made the experience much more bearable (Dom, Karen, Svetlana and Maria - thank you!) Main issue with my experience was inability to get basic medication required for pain relief post-surgery. Was told my procedure would be finished and we could leave around noon. But my pain medication (codeine and paracetamol, so nothing complicated!) had to be couriered from a local pharmacy. We waited over 4 hours for it to arrive and it never came. In the meantime my numbing had worn off and I was in a lot of pain - my partner had to go and ask the nurses if there was any spare codeine I could have while I waited. We eventually gave up and went home after many hours wasted, and had to pay for a private prescription at a pharmacy near home. Appreciate delay was with pharmacy and nurses did their best to get updates, but this system is not working.

From first contacting my GP who could have referred me to a podiatrist but asked me to decide on whether it was appropriate (a decision for which I have no expertise to make) in late May it took over 3 months to see Mr Qasim (via TIMS during which I obtained no advice to go back to GP to get podiatrist referral, but instead a referral to Mr Qasim for steroid injection). However, the podiatrist at Freeman said steroid was no longer suitable due to second toe having developed a hammer deformity by then (mid-November). I think I should have been referred straight to Freeman, not via TIMS and Mr Qasim because I had months of delay and pain while I waited, thus affecting my ability to do my job as a nurse.

Booked an appointment and was seen 2 days later. Dr Chopra was very friendly, took a case history and examined my skin condition. He made suggestions as to the cheapest course of action, which he personally wouldn't have financially benefitted from, which showed real integrity as a doctor. I went ahead with a biopsy, which was quickly and skilfully performed, and dissolving sutures were deliberately used as to save me from needing a return visit, thus reducing costs and time. Dr Chopra clearly cares not only about his patients but also seeks to provide medical attention in the most cost effective manner for his patients.

Thanks to everyone at Freedom Vision in Bromley for giving me a positive experience throughout my time with them.  I was very nervous to have the procedure, but it went smoothly and led to an excellent outcome.  Having had my cataracts removed from both eyes and RayOne Galaxy Toric multifocal replacement lenses fitted, I now have amazing eyesight for distant, intermediate and near vision.  I am especially grateful to the optometrist and the surgeon for their expertise and care, and to Chirag, the Patient Liaison Manager who always made me feel well supported.

Had an immigration medical appointment for Australia. I was running late and had to reschedule my AM appointment. Sent an email as the call option was automated message but the email was promptly replied and I was rebooked for the next available PM appointment. It meant I had to wait longer but they were swift to accommodate me and the services from reception to chest X-ray and GP examination was brilliant. I was offered the Polio vaccine and a painless blood tests. Overall I recommend 100%.
