The surgery itself was great and completed successfully, however, the wait time and ward care was not good. I was phoned around 7pm the evening before my appointment to come in earlier in the morning for the surgery (the first slot at 7.30) but by the time I was called for surgery it was after 2pm. I was given one glass of water to sip at approx 9am which wasn't refilled so by the time I went into surgery I was dehydrated and my vein had collapsed. When returning from surgery I had a reaction to the drugs where blood pressure dropped when sitting up, the nurses wouldn't listen and kept trying to make me stand when I couldn't sit up all the way. It got to the point where my partner had to intervene and speak to the registered nurse. They told me they had to get me out as it was a day surgery (which I understand) but as I physically couldn't sit or stand they ignored what we were saying so they could discharge where it may not have been in my best interests to do so. I ended up staying the night after my partner intervened and the night staff were great and I experienced a significant raise in care.

On visiting consultant Subhajit Ghosh a prescription was given to the nurse to be ordered for my next appointment as it was something that was not kept in stock at OSD. I needed to check my diary to see if I could make this next appointment at OSD Healthcare in Hemel Hempstead to have the prescription or, see the consultant at Spire Hospital on another day. On checking my diary I found I could make it and I phoned and arranged an appointment with Subhajit Ghosh. Unfortunately, the prescription had not been ordered so when I turned up for my next appointment I was unable to have my treatment and I would have to see him again another time. I appreciate mix ups happen but thought OSD Healthcare should check their procedures in instances such as this, so that prescriptions are ordered once patients have confirmed they can make future appointments.

I cannot recommend Mr John Pereira highly enough. From the initial consultation through to post-operative care, I felt completely listened to, reassured, and in expert hands. I understand went a procedure at Kingsbridge hospital Ballykelly. From my first appointment I was treated with care and respect. The staff were very friendly and helpful. My appointment prompt and quick. All question and queries I had where answered in a matter I could understand. On the morning of my procedure the room I was given was clean and bright. Staff were very attentive and made me feel at ease. After the op try he staff where always near taking vitals and super attentive. The staff and doctors made my stay comfortable and mostly pain free.

This is GP services as they should be. I booked on Sunday afternoon and had a good selection of appointments for Monday morning. I was seen on my appointment time. The fact that the appointments are 20 minutes long allows the GP time to be very thorough and explain in detail your condition. Over four visits this year, I have always seen the same GP, which builds the connection that the excessively busy NHS service no longer provides.

I underwent a HoLEP operation carried out by Mr Brewin and his team. Both the operation and my recovery have been excellent. Due to potential complications, in the event there were none, the operation was carried out in Salisbury NHS Hospital. Again the staff were friendly and helpful but circumstances at the time in the recovery ward resulted in the washroom facilities being less than acceptably clean.
