Dr Ottayil is incredibly thorough. He takes the time to carefully review every detail, explains findings clearly, and ensures that nothing is overlooked. He never rushes appointments and always makes space for questions, no matter how small, taking care to explain things in a way that is easy to understand and reassuring as a parent. His depth of knowledge is evident, and his clinical judgement inspires complete confidence. Throughout our time working with him, he has been consistently supportive and approachable. He listens attentively, takes concerns seriously, and treats both child and parent with respect and kindness. As a parent, it makes an enormous difference to feel heard and understood, and Dr Ottayil excels at this. After a year of back and forward to various different hospitals and appointments and symptoms being ignored, I finally and thankfully was seen by Mr Jacob. He was very professional, friendly and most importantly saw and heard my concerns. I got answers and was booked in for surgery. I had a very enlarged thyroid with numerous nodules that had previously been missed by other consultants and my symptoms absolutely debilitating. During surgery Mr Jacob found my thyroid had also grown around the back of neck so took a little longer. I felt great after my surgery, Mr Jacob came to see me the next morning and I was kept in updated of what was going to happen throughout and after the surgery. I had no questions unanswered and felt very cared for. Im extremely grateful that Mr Jacob was my surgeon and would highly recommend him. My scar is barely noticeable only two months later and my healing was fairly easy - thanks to Mr Jacob my procedure was a great success!

I arrived circa 15min before my appointment time as requested and was greeted courteously by the reception staff before being lead to an examination room to undergo a basic check of my eyesight and health check/questionnaire. On retuning to the waiting area I was almost immediately greeted by Mr Bhargava. The consolation was just 5min after the appointment time, which is excellent. The consultation was thorough and very professional, Mr Bhargava has a very good manner and following questioning and examination explained all the parameters relevant to my condition. Mr Bhargava then went on to detail treatment and advice in a concise but detailed way covering all aspects very well. I left feeling that the visit was well worthwhile and that I had been treated well in all aspects of the consolation. I would have no hesitation in recommending Mr Bhargava to friends and colleagues.

I just want to put on record what an absolute gentleman Dr Gall is. His natural ability to be so genuinely empathetic to me on my initial consultation, made me feel comfortable instantly that I had chosen the right consultant to help me with my problem and subsequent surgery . There was nothing that I didn’t understand along the way as he took as much time as was needed to put my mind at ease with everything that was ahead. On the day of the procedure Dr Gall had had an exceptionally busy day and I was the last on his list but he still spent a lot of time reflecting on the surgery even after a busy clinic. He explained the findings fully with no rush to get away despite it being 9pm by then. I cannot speak highly enough of Dr Gall and have already recommend him to anyone who asked as he is clearly the leading consultant for a reason.

I had a Teams meeting today with Angela about my nutrition, as I’m looking for ways to gain weight. She was completely non judgemental, incredibly warm, and made me feel comfortable throughout the whole conversation. She never made me feel bad about my eating habits and was very kind and understanding in the way she worked with me. She gave me really sound advice and clear, practical feedback on how I can improve things going forward, particularly around healthy weight gain. I wasn’t sure what to expect going into the meeting. I half expected to be told to cut out lots of foods and start eating things I didn’t like but instead, she took the time to understand what I like and don’t like to eat. Overall, she was extremely helpful, supportive, and approachable, and I genuinely appreciated the session. I thought she was great.

I found the system a little confusing, I wish an email went out explaining each step that would happen, but when I’ve emailed staff have always been extremely helpful. The lady that did my daughter’s assessment was very friendly and patient with her, she allowed for her to move around, have breaks and finish early. She also explained things well. The last that did the assessment with us to discuss our daughter was also very friendly and made us feel at ease. It was a long assessment, but she allowed times for breaks. We would often go off on tangents and she was always supportive of this, but also good at bringing us back round to the topic. I would highly recommend this service.

I loved all the staff that took care of me. I was very well looked after. My only small complaint was the lady that brought the food around kept leaving my door open and blocked half the TV and at one point my partner was helping me on the toilet with the bathroom door open and she walked in to ask if we wanted a cup of tea then left my room door open so anyone in the hall way could see me on the toilet, he was holding me up so couldn't go and close the door right away which made me feel a little bit conscious. Other than that the care staff were amazing surgeon and anaesthetist were very friendly. I would definitely recommend this hospital.
