My entire treatment plan and visits have all gone extremely smoothly. I suppose the first point is that the pain I had prior to the operation is now gone, so that has been a huge success. The recovery has also been remarkably straight forward to this point. From my first visit to the latest post-op visit, I have found Mr Stafford to be very clear and precise with all the details of my injury and options to treat it. There was no pressure on what option to choose, the facts were simply given to me and the prognosis for each treatment explained. The booklet provided gives a very detailed and comforting explanation of all that was involved, including the full journey back to recovery in the future. I am very pleased with my choices and very grateful to Mr Stafford for the treatment and consultations during this process. Mr Stafford is obviously very skilled in his work and this, along with the many successful procedures he has completed gave me full confidence to proceed with the successful arthroscopy.

The booking part of the process was the only thing that could be improved. Took a log time from seeing the consultant to being contacted. The staff member was quite abrupt and inflexible. I was on my way out of the door at the time (7.30pm) and she didn’t seem empathetic to this. No way for me to text the information required in (BUPA details which the hospital already has been sent!). So I was told to call back next day to recite the information. I was offered a single booking time…take it or leave it! The actual appointment and scan was faultless. Friendly and empathetic staff greeted me, were on time (in fact early!) and the whole process was smooth and the scans explained to me clearly and were done quickly. I am however still awaiting the results…so turn around is nearly a month from reporting my concerns about cancer recurrence,

Mr Jonathan Pollock

I met Mr Pollock three times during my treatments for a wide excision of the melanoma on my left arm. My first was an initial consultation and although I had done my homework regarding my diagnosis Mr Pollock was really clear about my treatment and what to expect which really reassured me, I'm in the right hands. Second meeting was for my surgery which all went to plan with no surprises and very well looked after at Spires Nottingham. My third meeting which was today was for me to receive the results of both biopsies and check my wounds. I'm thrilled to say I am all clear and my wounds are healing really well after four weeks. A true professional with a touch of empathy which makes a real difference. I wouldn't hesitate to contact Mr Pollock again if needed, or recommend to anyone. Thank you.

I first went to Cristina through a recommendation, and honestly, I didn’t have much hope left for my hair. From the very beginning, she took the time to sit with me and go through my hair history over the past few years to truly understand what went wrong. Very efficient. I delayed my operation date and was advised that I’d be in active monitoring for a further 6 months. I had a call one hour after my initial email asking about the deferral so very good customer service. I called before my deferral date and was received in a very friendly way. I expressed my concern about having the knee replacement surgery and I was offered a date to see Mr Murthy to fit in with my commitments. The appointment was very good and now I’m not having the surgery but feel confident that I can go back into the system again and see Mr Murthy when I need to. All very effective and reassuring

After suffering for so long with my back and terrible leg pain. I eventually had my surgery - more than previously advised - once the multidisciplinary team had reviewed my scans. I was informed of this when I went for my education and training session with the spinal nurse.. I am 2 weeks post op and the difference is huge and clear to see in my face and the way I’m walking I know I need to take my time and not over do it , as I need to heal and recover from years of pain and poor mobility. I’m looking forward to seeing mr sapare on the 10/12/25 at my 6 weeks post op appointment

I can’t find the right words to express my gratitude to Dr Patani for his care. I went to see him for a follow-up consultation and everything went extremely well thanks to his amazing skills as a surgeon. I recovered very well after surgery, and thought of the precision with which a surgeon has to strike a delicate balance between removing enough and not removing too much, especially when I had waited until that lump grew a lot. And Dr Patani achieved that delicate balancing act! For me the essential fact is that eight months down the line, there is no recurrence of that lump!

I would not choose Spire as a private patient. The nursing staff were fabulous but the overall experience was poor. I feel that since they now take 80% nhs patients then the overall standards have dropped. After my operation I ordered an evening meal that didn’t materialise and after starving for over 24 hours was able to get a chicken sandwich eventually. The breakfast was quite simply atrocious. Cold scrambled egg, awful tea, toast inedible due to being soggy. I recently had emergency surgery at Taunton NHS hospital and they were far superior to this hospital.

My visit for my hip operation was very calming, no stress involved as it was an operation. The nursing staff (Liam) was very helpful with information about my procedure timetable. After my operation I was looked after by 2 further nurses (Jan & Yvonne). They looked after my pain medication during the.night as well as the rest of my needs. Couldn’t have asked for better support, many thanks to them. The physio was round the next morning with crutches so I could walk and instructions on what I could and couldn’t do. Again very supportive which put me at ease.

Having followed Professor Reid’s regime of a year of Evenity followed by an infusion of Zolendronic acid (plus of course, lifestyle measures eg weight-bearing exercise, vitamin D, a calcium-and protein-rich diet) 3 years on from my first consultation my spine is now -1.9! I cannot thank Professor Reid enough for his expertise, care, responsiveness, and clarity of communication. His advice completely changed my life.

I arrived at 9.05 for an appointment at 9.30 am. Checked in and waited approx 3 minutes and was called by Mr Sapare and escorted to his room. After an examination and explanation of my before and after surgery he gave me advice on how to proceed to full recovery. I was back in my companions car by 9.20. I would recommend any one if offered the the chance to attend the Spire Hospital to go and get treated there.

I was at the clinic for a 6 weeks post surgery appointment. All the staff were very welcoming and friendly. I saw Kevin Bryceland. He showed me the xray of my new hip, explained the surgery and checked my progress. He was happy to answer any questions and explained the next steps. While it was busy in the clinic, Kevin took time to listen and I didn't feel rushed in any way.

I cant be more positive about my experience, the hospital is spotless and staff are so professional and friendly. I had just the right amount of sedation and felt so comfortable during my procedure.
