I waited over an hour to be seen for my pre admission appointment. After being admitted and been shown to my room I was left for 5 hours in a cold room without anyone checking on me or giving me information about when my operation would be. Staff only turned up when I called and was then able to get some water as I was then advised that my operation was being delayed for a few hours. Short staffed. Slow to respond to buzzer calls. Staff always seemed to be busy doing something else other than looking after patients. Quite noisy ward during the day with people’s loud voices/laughing. Outdated facilities, no overhead bed light so had to have the main big room lights on all the time, which I could not control. I was moved to a different room after my operation as the first one did not have sufficient heating. The en-suite bathrooms are very outdated. Very short shower hose. In my second room there were 2 Rentokill boxes in shower. 50% of staff were friendly. I had major abdominal surgery. My night nurse was very compassionate and took very good care of me for 2 nights. I was discharged with the insufficient amount of painkillers to take home and without a physio assessment or much information about what symptoms to look out for and how to help recovery. I had to contact my own GP to get enough painkillers. Once discharged I had to walk with my husband all the way to the car at the pickup parking as there was no porter or wheelchair available. I had given 1h notice and then let her know again 10minutes before my husband arrived to collect me.

After I had my procedure and was in the room, I needed to use the toilet, but I was hooked up to a catheter. Therefore, I could not go unaided. I needed to use the toilet for a poo and was desperate to go. I used the call button and told the nurse, who said they would come back. I was left for 4 hours in agony. I was really anxious as I had been told I was not to strain, and I was doing all I could to not mess myself. This left me really upset and agitated. I did not feel cared for at that time. The breakfast was very poor and not at all palatable. The fact that you could not get in the lift without someone tapping you in is ridiculous, as you then have to search for someone to assist. Also, when I subsequently came back for my catheter removal. There were no disabled parking spaces at the front, so I had to come in the back. I was told I needed to go to the ward. So I made my way to the lift and was very dizzy and weak. My wife left me at the lift to go to the front to sign me in, and the receptionist could not have been more unhelpful and stroppy. My wife then took me up in the lift, only to be told that they would not see me until she had gone back down to the reception. The other receptionist then signed me in and was pleasant, unlike the other receptionist. Sadly, small things let you down. But when you are a patient, you feel very vulnerable, and the lack of professionalism from a member of the team makes a big impact.

I was referred to Mr Zeiton due to right knee pain and first met him in January 2025. I found him very professional and I felt valued straight away. He arranged for an X-ray then MRI scan before seeing him again in March for the results. The most favourable outcome was a partial knee replacement and he explained all options fully in terms that I could understand. With me running 2 charity events that summer, he gave me a cortisone injection with a follow up appointment later that year. I was then booked in for the surgery in November after the events and everything went to plan. I was made fully aware of exactly what the surgery entailed with all possible outcomes. I cannot praise Mr Zeiton and his team highly enough as the surgery was completely painless as I chatted away to the anaesthetist. He visited me in my room several times to see how I was and to show me the post op X-ray. Before I was discharged I was briefed on everything that I needed to know. I saw Mr Zeiton 6 weeks later and my very fast recovery was definitely down to his skill as a surgeon as well as my determination to get back running and cycling. I cannot recommend Mr Zeiton highly enough. He and his team are second to none. Thank you so much for giving me a pain free right knee.

Whilst time waiting to see Mr Khan was very quick , if I'd arrived any later I wouldn't have completed my check in and, I arrived more than the recommended 15 mins early more staff on reception required plus I don't think self checking in on tablets helps , whilst fine for me others clearly needed help. After seeing Mr Khan I needed follow up appointments for a scan and,blood/urine tests . Having waited at 1 reception for 15 minutes area to make an appointment for the tests to be brusquely told to go and make my scan appointment as it "Would save time" .When I'm 2 away from the desk don't think it was about saving my time. Then wait at the radiology department reception for another 15 minutes as only 1 person on reception, told they'll need to check with the radiologist and, would call me today as yet they haven't. Return to main outpatient reception to book tests and, amazingly I've now got 6 people in front of me ...finally get to the desk to be told can't do blood test as no one there to do them .Now had there been but because of time wasted there no longer was ? Not impressed by The Spire on this occasion, Mr Khan yes , but everything else no .

The session with Mr Johnson went very well, pleasant and explained everything very clearly and was prescribed some medication. Unfortunately since then it has been an absolute nightmare dealing with Nuffield Health Derby. I was unable to locate the prescribed medication from several different pharmacies, one being a national chain, as they all advised it was not in stock and that they were unable to order it. As I was unable to get through to his private secretary, I called Nuffield Health number. I have spent the last two weeks ringing Nuffield Health, explaining the issue. Each time very pleasant staff advised they would sort it, but each time they never had the courtesy to call me back and let me know what was happening. Eventually today, after a 30minute call, they managed to advise that the pharmacy at the Derby Hospital had the prescription available, but they insisted that they were unable to post it and that I had to come and collect it, 90minute round trip in the snow. Overall, a very poor service and makes you wonder what's the benefit of paying for health insurance.

Had an appointment for hip injections. I was seen on time. The consultant Mr Howell and radiologists Rachel and Natalie were all amazing. They were welcoming, friendly, professional and warm. They helped me to relax, feel comfortable, assured and confident. I have had the absolute pleasure of meeting many of the staff at St Hugh's and would recommend the hospital to anyone. The people are so genuine, lovely, human, friendly and professional. You are welcomed by the reception staff immediately upon arrival and the experience continues throughout. I appreciate that the staff work in a relatively calm setting, but they make the experience. This is a really well run hospital overseen by the director Ellen and her deputy Sarah. The consultants are of the highest quality. This is an amazing local resource which must be protected. The hospital undertake vital NHS work as well as private work. NHS pressures challenge the continued operation of St Hugh's, which would be a tragedy. Thanks and best wishes to everyone! Xx

I had cataract surgery on both eyes on 4th December 2025 and l was discharged today, 12th January 2026. I'm so pleased to say l don't need to wear glasses or contact lenses any more. From start to finish, my experience at Freedom Vision Chelmsford was exceptionally good - and my end result is superb vision. - more than l could ever have hoped for. Colours are radiant and bright, and probably the biggest bonus for me is feeling so much more confident driving at night. After undergoing rigorous tests and scans , the actual procedure is very quick and painless. All the staff, without question were delightfully kind people and I'd like to thank them all individually, if only l knew their names. But in particular, l'd like to thank Nicola who guided me patiently and expertly throughout the whole procedure, and a massive thank you to Mr Hove , my surgeon, for being such a genius. If you are contemplating cataract surgery, l urge you to go for it - don't be scared - you won't regret it!

I always have a good experience when visiting the practice. The staff are always friendly. However, on the last visit I think there are things you guys need to review. I was in for a gel injection into my knee which was being carried out by Mr Dehne in the theatre. He had previously confirmed that it would be a simple procedure and that after a short time I would be fine to drive home. However, on arrival it was clear that the team believed I was in for a knee replacement. I was shown to my own room, asked to select from the menu for the following day, and given medication that I assume I didn't require! Further more, the team were loathed to let me drive home and I had to wait a couple of hours until they could check with Mr Dehne that it would be ok as all the paperwork confirmed otherwise. The theatre staff were double checking with me the reason for my visit so there was a checking procedure in place but you may need to review why there was confusion in the first place.

I had been considering eye surgery and attended Cathedral Eye Clinic to get a second opinion, having already spoken with a consultant in Dublin. Putting it simply, my experience in Belfast was far superior. The team at Cathedral ran a more comprehensive range of tests, assigned more time and personnel to my case, and were far better at talking through my options. In particular, I was very pleased that they were willing to give me their honest perspectives based on what they felt was best for me in the long run. Ultimately (based on their guidance), I decided not to go forward with any additional procedure at this time, but should I need treatment further down the line, I will not hesitate to go back to Belfast.

After a mole on my shoulder began to grow, I booked a private consultation with a specialist who had removed others by Crotherapy. He told me that he could only do it after the infection which had caused it to change, had been cured and prescribed a course of antibiotics. The infection increased after several courses of six different antibiotics which were prescribed by my NHS practice were not able to halt its progress. My daughter Annie convinced me to book an appointment at Essex Private GP. I was seen on the same day and the correct antibiotics to target the infection were identified and prescribed at my first visit. There is already a significant improvement, thank you.

I had an ankle injection carried out by Dr. David McKean, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From start to finish, he explained everything clearly and thoroughly, making sure I understood exactly what the procedure involved and why it was being done. He took the time to talk through potential side effects, answered questions calmly, and was very reassuring throughout. The procedure itself was seamless, quick, and went extremely smoothly. Dr. McKean’s professionalism, clarity, and calm approach made the whole experience straightforward and stress-free. Thank you very much — absolutely amazing.

My experience at Harley Street Hearing was in every respect exceptional. As a violinist I was very nervous about using hearing aids. However all the help and encouragement I received from Matt Frost (also a musician as well as an audiologist!) made it possible for me to find the perfect solution. Matt encouraged me to bring my violin to one of our consultations so that we could perfectly adjust everything to my needs. I received very clear instructions in how to use the hearing aid, and can have any help I need on line or in person going forward. Thank you and can’t recommend highly enough!

Food was excellent and the chef Marion was amazing at catering for everyone’s individual needs. I’ve gotten so much out of the groups and one on one sessions. After 28 days I feel like I have been given an amazing framework to take with me on the outside and have met a community that will stay with me throughout the rest of my journey. Thanks to everyone at Freedom Vision in Bromley for giving me a positive experience throughout my time with them.  I was very nervous to have the procedure, but it went smoothly and led to an excellent outcome.  Having had my cataracts removed from both eyes and RayOne Galaxy Toric multifocal replacement lenses fitted, I now have amazing eyesight for distant, intermediate and near vision.  I am especially grateful to the optometrist and the surgeon for their expertise and care, and to Chirag, the Patient Liaison Manager who always made me feel well supported.

Mr Bracewell-Milnes was recommended to us by another doctor for our IVF treatment, and we are so glad he was. After several unsuccessful rounds at another clinic, Tim suggested a different protocol, which resulted in us having several embryos by the end of the cycle—something we had never achieved before. He also was always available for us to ask questions to, which gave us reassurance during a stressful time. We became pregnant from our first transfer. I would highly recommend Mr Bracewell-Milnes to anyone.
