I was referred from my local hospital to Mr Nicol, due to his speciality in young adult hips and my diagnosis of hip dysplasia. In my initial consultation, Mr Nicol spent a good duration of time, explaining my hip dysplasia and potential treatment options. With my scans not showing damage to my hip labrum, we discussed my symptoms and likelihood of me experiencing potential trauma to my hip. Mr Nicol appeared confident I was presenting with pain of labrum pathology, something nobody had mentioned before. I went ahead with a hip arthroscopy which did indeed reveal a labral tear and labral detachment with was repaired successfully. Immediately following surgery and in follow up appointments, I’ve been able to contact Mr Nicol with any questions regarding my recovery and felt very reassured. Occasionally, I had some confusion with my initial treatment, discussion of this post surgery etc. but I do consider this is to be because of the complexity of hip bio-mechanics and treatments etc. I would highly recommend Mr Nicol for young people experiencing ongoing hip pain and looking for a second opinion or initial support with treatment options.

I recently had my gallbladder removed by Miss Pissanou after seeking her for a second opinion. From the very beginning, she was thorough, honest, and incredibly reassuring. She advised that while gallbladder removal was necessary, I should first prioritise a cyst on my kidney. She immediately referred me to an excellent surgeon who successfully removed the cyst, which unfortunately turned out to be cancerous. I am extremely grateful for her judgement and prompt action, which made all the difference. When it came to my gallbladder operation, Miss Pissanou was exceptionally informative, taking great care to explain all the risks and ensuring that both my wife and I fully understood the procedure. The surgery itself was very successful, and my recovery was remarkably quick. I cannot recommend Miss Pissanou highly enough for her professionalism, expertise, and outstanding patient care.

I had a combined ASD & ADHD appointment at Diverse Minds Clinic and am very happy with the outcome. I had to fill in several questionnaires before the appointment, and that was pretty hard. However, the sacrifice was repaid as Dr Cappai put me at ease and understood my difficulties. For the first time, I felt heard, and it was a great experience. The service provided at Diverse Minds Clinic is impressive. They tend to reply very quickly, and staff do all they can to support you. The team has been very helpful, and they went above and beyond to help me with the forms where I was having problems. Dr Cappai also arranged to speak with me on the phone, free of charge, before my appointment, which I thought was remarkable. I will continue working with Dr Cappai during the titration period and possibly in the future. Highly recommended.

This is truly a very pleasant clinic. All staff put you at ease and treat you very well. I had an upper endoscopy performed by Dr Craig Mowat. He is a really patient, polite and conscientious professional man who listened to my concerns and talked me through them. He was very thorough and suggested how I could relive my symptoms mean time until my procedure, which was only a few weeks later. He explained exactly what would happen. The experience was very calm and I was put at ease. Dr Mowat told me of his findings immediately after the procedure and called me to discuss biopsy results a couple of weeks later. The whole experience was calm and quickly put my fears to rest. Thank you very much for lifting a huge weight off my mind - I can now get back to enjoying life!

Hello I was very upset when the hospital charge me for XRAY in an NHS hospital that we have to be in the queue and don't get the private care. I had a fall in June 2024 and had an operation at RFH unfortunately the operation was not successful. I can't walk properly I am on a stick and have lots of pain. If I go to private is because I don't have any access to NHS but that doesn't mean that for diagnosis I need to pay while me and my family are paying a lot for taxes and don't benefit for our health when we need and are desperate. I also have been to another private consultant to find out what went wrong and if I can ever get better and can walk but they just charge me for consultation not XRAY in an all private clinic. Thank you

We received an excellent level of care and support. The doctor was able to assess my daughter and provide a diagnosis on the same day, which brought us much-needed clarity and reassurance after a very difficult few weeks. They were incredibly supportive, gentle and sensitive with my daughter, taking the time to explain clearly what was happening in a way that she could understand without feeling frightened or overwhelmed. We felt listened to throughout. The offer to support us further, including attending a video call with her school to help plan her return, was above and beyond what we expected and made us feel we were not navigating this alone.

From our first meeting I was struck by her empathetic manner and her calm and friendly demeanour- all of this on top of clearly being ultra professional and informative. You can’t always plan how things will go with a birth but I felt so confident that I was being looked after by Charlotte every step of the way. When the unexpected did happen, Charlotte guided me with calm logic. Ultimately, my birth experience was wonderful, I couldn’t have asked for better and that is largely due to Charlotte and her care.

I attended tonight for a scan of my hands with Dr Patterson. On arrival I was welcomed at reception, checked in quickly and asked to take a seat in the waiting room. Breda then came out and called me to attend the consultation room, introductions were made, and Dr Patterson then performed my scan, he was professional, and provided information relevant to my condition. The whole consultation was a pleasure and demonstrated the significance difference a private company can make to a struggling NHS. Thankyou both again for such a positive experience.

My second visit to Clinic and Dr James Thing. This time for issues with ankle. Dr Thing asked questions regarding the ankle and a few exercises to ascertain problem areas and carried out ultra sound and explained this to me. Best option forward was injection which was pain free and advice on what to watch out for etc. Also recommended a follow up with podiatrist at portobello too. Great service for start to finish special mention to Luvena who was most helpful and professional.
