As a business owner and mum of 2 it is vital that I keep operating as close to my A Game as I can. As a result I have been trying to find both the optimal HRT for me personally - and also the best provider/ clinic I can find. I started with the NHS and my local doctor which quickly didn’t feel bespoke or targeted enough for my hormonal needs or personalised in the approach. I then registered with an online menopause clinic and worked thru them for over a year. The HRT felt much better however it was a logistical challenge. HRT was sent thru the post and took 2 weeks to arrive. If you missed/ had to reschedule an online appointment/ blood test (which with a business and kids happens regularly) it had ramifications so I would find myself running out of HRT with a 2 week stretch ahead of me. This just didn’t work with my job where I am client facing and needing to know that I am feeling grounded, confident and not overwhelmed / severely anxious. Another problem I found was that the online clinic wasn’t conferring with my NHS doctor so my records were not up to date which felt concerning. I have private health and know how close the private doctors work with the NHS so this raised alarm bells to me. It was in one of these periods when I was about to go into a work trip with no HRT that in my desperation I saw an advert for Dr Kemp. I booked an appointment with her and the process felt so personalised and easy. The consultation was surprisingly in depth (much more so than the online clinic). I realised after the consultation the importance of working with a medical professional who can take a holistic view of your health as a female - not just focussing on your hormones. I realised during the call that I was behind on my mammogram - and also have since the call booked myself in for therapy in the advice of Dr Kemp. She asked for a blood test - and prescribed a new variation of HRT with clear instructions on how to use. The prescription was emailed direct to me within a few hours and I could use my local chemist to action it. This felt so liberating being able to pick up within hours as oppose to waiting for a few weeks. Dr Kemp sent me the notes from our conversation with her suggested next step actions - which prompted me to both book the mammogram and therapy. And has checked in a number of times since. She also sent a letter to my NHS doctor and logged both the recommendations and HRT prescription. As a result if I need some urgently and I can’t contact Dr Kemp I can now go direct to my NHS doctor and ask them to prescribe. I feel I have finally found the set up and professional I need to be able to navigate myself through the perimenopause and menopause whilst maintaining the responsibilities I have in my life. I’ve realised how anxious I have been previously not feeling like I have a medical professional and HRT available to me - and I feel so relieved that I’ve been able to find the set up with Dr Kemp. No matter what the menopause continues to bring up/ throw at me I know I can face it head on - with my optimum health and mind set - with the advice of Dr Kemp helping me maintain my emotional and physical strength.

Mr Jan Marciniak

The first time I met Mr Marciniak I felt I had known him for years. He made me feel at ease straight away and spoke to me as if I was his first ever patient or a member of his family. He explained I a way I could understand, e exactly what had happened to my hip and recently to my knee with the help of my Xrays. He then went on to explain what the operation would involve and to the extent of showing me a replica joint. I knew " I was in good hands" He later rang me afterwards to make sure I was OK about the operation then prior to the actual procedure he came to see me in my room and then a couple of hours afterwards to see how I was. I was very relaxed and Mr Marciniak couldn't have done anymore. Speaking to other nurses and staff they couldn't speak any more highly of him and have stipulated that they would want him to operate on them if the need be. His after care has been exemplary, wanting the best for me. This was also the case after my knee replacement 6 months later. Mr Marciniak is a very special person doing a job he loves always with a smile on his face and making you feel important. Too many people will talk negatively and complain about the NHS but personally with having a few dealings with Doctors etc I can honestly say we have an exceptional service with tremendous people working in these sectors. Mr Marciniak is up there with the best.

Truly Exceptional After experiencing pain from my new hospital contact lenses I was able to book an appointment with Drew far sooner than my Hospital would see me. Drew very quickly determined that ill-fitting lenses were causing Conjunctival Prolapse and advised how best to proceed. Essentially the lenses used by my Hospital were not appropriate for my eyes and, since the Hospital will not use alternative lenses, Drew was able to fit and supply better lenses. These new contact lenses give excellent vision and comfort, even though I have a particular eye condition which makes it very difficult to fit contacts, despite lenses being the only solution for me. Thank you Drew and Team!

My experience was very disappointing with the consultant. I was happy for my appointment to be changed just before attending due to the consultant running late. I was very disappointed with the lack of interest and time shown to be by the consultant. I got 10 minutes of his time to be told to cut out caffeine at the cost of £250. I was hoping to receive some understanding of what could be causing recurrent UTI's and reassuring me of any fears of anything sinister i.e bladder cancer. Only to be told this only occurs for around 10/20% of cases. I think what really irked me was he looked at his watch part way through me speaking This I found very disrespectful and rude.

I recently returned to Spire Hartswood Hospital for my post-hip replacement follow-up, and I was once again very impressed with the level of care. The staff were attentive, professional, and genuinely caring throughout my visit.. Everything ran smoothly and on time , and I felt well looked after from the moment I arrived. The facilities are spotless and comfortable, and the aftercare support has been excellent. I’m extremely pleased with my recovery and grateful to the entire team at Spire Hartswood for their continued professionalism and kindness!

The wait for an NHS appointment was too long and not many private hospitals are able to see or treat children. I was able to get an appointment within a week with Mr Siau at Leigh Infirmary, and my daughter is now booked in for surgery. Mr Shehzaad Khan

Dr. Khan operated my knee. It was a difficult procedure as it involved a multi ligament injury and a meniscus tear. 16 months post operation I went back to play football. Mr. Kahn is very supportive and provides planned follow ups to keep track of progress. In my last visit Mr. Kahn decided to see me again in 6 months to assess the overall recovery and decide whether or not take further action as there are still some minor issues with the knee.

The whole experience of phoning first thing in the morning to make an appointment to have my earwax removel - through to later in morning when it was carried out felt like a “model” experience in care. My audiologist was patient, explained the process and worked efficiently to remove all the wax bringing much needed relief. She also gave me advice on oiling my ear to help the wax dispersal in future.

Parking good, reception good, pharmacy good, everywhere very clean. All staff were friendly and efficient. They made sure that they had the right person for the right procedure, made sure I was hydrated and well, and checked that I would be looked after at home afterwards. I was very impressed. Also the sandwich afterwards was lovely.
